1. Thomas, please check whether you can pull down the horizontal divider at the top of the Enroute chart using your mouse: left click on the small area with the four dots (see red elipse on image below), hold down the left button, then drag.
2. Hi Jim, no, there is no way to run the DisplayUnit without the DataProvider. Do you run a proxy server in your network?
3. Hi Ray, thanks for this information. I never did such a test so it's even more helpful to know about your findings.
4. Hi Alex, that is not depending on EFB, it's part of the files that come from IVAO. EFB only reads and analyzes them but I'm not the owner of these files. If I only knew where to get the latest files ... BTW, you can easily edit these files using any text editor like the Windows notepad.exe.
5. Hi Alex, I guess that "EHAM_CTR" is not listed in the "firs.dat" file on your computer. Therefore EFB cannot recognize it.
6. Hi Brendan, do you know what errors happened? Maybe error codes or descriptions? Did you install any windows updates or other software which might cause the errors?
7. Jim, I'm sorry but I don't know which one(s) it is trying to connect to. It's part of the activation software which is from third party. I didn't program it. But when I see that you can access to time.nist.gov using port 13, then I must assume that the problem is not related to port 13. Since you seem to be very well equipped, can you maybe try to log the time when the DataProvider starts up, so maybe you can read from that log what is blocked? Can you also send me the DataProvider logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? They can be located as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles Hopefully there is some trace therein ...
8. David, I do not think that EFB is quirky. Please have a look at the operations manual, section 5, page 8. Almost at the top of the page you can see the syntax of a route description as follows: FROM{ETD} {SPDALT} {SID{.TRNS}} {Enroute} {STAR{.TRNS}} TO{ETA} {ALTN} Whenever you use "ENE.PARCH1" as either a waypoint or a procedure, EFB will not recognize this as a valid entry, neither as a waypoint nor as a procedure, because according to the syntax the procedure name (PARCH1) must be first, followed by the transition name (ENE). I also created a route with this combination, but EFB did not accept ENE.PARCH1 as a STAR/Transition instead of just did not throw an exception. But in the table where the route waypoints are listed, no information about the STAR was added. Only if you use PARCH1.13B.ENE it will be recognized as STAR "PARCH1.13B" with transition "ENE". The addition "13B" (or any other similar combination) is part of the name of the STAR, at least when using Navigraph or Aerosoft navigation data.
9. Hi Jim, port 13 is used to communicate with a time server on the internet. This is due to security reasons when verifying a valid demo license. I'm not sure whether it uses TCP or UDP or both of them. Please verify that both protocol types are allowed.
10. Hi Fred, could you please send me an email to support@aivlasoft.com? The email must contain your email address that is assigned to the license key. Thanks.
11. Henk, I ran out of ideas ... that's why I'm quiet. Supporting network problems from remote without the possibility to have a look at the system is one of the most difficult tasks. All questions have been answered with OK or YES, so I really don't know where the cause of the problem could be.
12. Hi Richard, Just to be on the secure side, did you do the fix in the runways.txt file on the DataProvider's computer or on the DisplayUnit's computer? Sometimes it might be that due to previous installations an old runways.txt remains on the DisplayUnit's computer. The runways.txt file is only used on the DataProvider's computer.
13. Hi Jeff, I could find the problem. It happens when you remove the first line of a checklist. Both issues are fixed with 1.3.11.
14. Hi Lee, the online preview button (OTPV) is only enabled as long as the online network is not yet connected from the Route Setup page. As soon as you connect to the network the preview button is no longer enabled and it will be replaced by the traffic button (TRFC). To enable the traffic button, have a look at the settings -> Charts -> Traffic: You have to tick both options "Show AI ..." and just below "Show 'online' traffic".
15. As you mentioned, it's not working here. But anyway, thanks for the link.
16. Hi Andy, you're not doing anything wrong and it has also nothing to do with re-installing EFB. It's the 1311-cycle, revision 2 which contains some problems. In the meantime Navigraph has released a third revision (thanks to Richard Stefan for his very quick response and help!). Please download this latest version, install it and restart the DataProvider. Everything should work again then. http://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataDownload.aspx
17. Hi Vu Pham, when saving the route to FSX please verify whether the checkbox "Write procedures" is ticked.
18. Hi, according to the forum rule #4, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Please verify whether the following options in the settings are set: - DisplayUnit, Miscellaneous -> Create Garmin GPS flight plans - DataProvider, Folders -> Create FSX flight plans - DataProvder, Folders, FSX Flightplans (this folder must point to the original folder where FSX is saving its own flight plans. Usually this is similar to this example (Win7, engl): C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files
19. Henk, Additional questions: - are both computers within the same workgroup (not homegroup)? - are both computers having the same network address (e.g. 192.168.1.xxx, assuming the network mask is 255.255.255.0) - do you run both computers using Windows 7 or do you run them in mixed mode (Win7 / WinXP) - do the shared folders have read and write access rights? - can you navigate to the shared folders on the DataProvider's computer when browsing the network node from within Windows Explorer on the DisplayUnit's computer? - if you can navigate to that folders, can you also create/update/delete a file in that folders (also using Windows Explorer on the DisplayUnit computer)?
20. Henk, just as an addition to what Travis already explained: You don't need to explicitly configure some SimConnect configuration files for the networking part. Networking between DataProvider and any DisplayUnit within the same network is done by EFB internal network components. SimConnect is used as the interface between the DataProvider and FSX, but not between the DataProvider and the DisplayUnit.
21. Sydney, please have a look into the operations manual, section 2. Search for "Runways.txt". Here's another hint: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1260
22. Hi Tony, I can see that the 1311 cycle does not list any SID for KORD. Did you already had a look at the Navigraph forum whether they already know about it? Did you check your runways.txt file?
