  1. Hi Mike, Browsing is not read/write access. There is a difference between "sharing" and "security". If you right click on any folder (in Windows Explorer) select properties and you will get a dialog with four tabs. There you will see a tab named "sharing" and a tab named "security". I'm sorry but I cannot look at the file because I don't have it, I can only read what you have posted above . It's always better to send all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com instead of just picking some elements out of such a file. Once again, I'm sure there is no bug in EFB concerning this item. Several hundreds of installations over a network are working properly. Thanks! Much appreciated.
  2. Hi, please, according to the forum rule no. 4 you have to sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. There is no bug in EFB, it seems to be a problem that the DisplayUnit cannot read the airports file which is located on the DataProviders computer. Maybe there is a problem with the access rights to that folder?
  3. Hi all, after some email conversation with Aerosoft we have learned that the current version of their flight plan data format doesn't support direct (DCT) waypoints. Only the pattern "waypoint - airwayname - waypoint" is currently supported. They also told us that direct waypoints will be supported with some of the next updates. Since EFB allows the creation of flight plans with direct waypoints, we decided to wait creating a flight plan handler until this is also supported by the Aerosoft Airbus Extended flight plan data format.
  4. Kenneth, do you already know 7-zip? It's free and very fast. Also the compression rate seems to be a bit better. http://www.7-zip.org/
  5. Henk, you cannot assign a runway twice. Try to figure out whether FSX runway 02 is 02L or 02R (and FSX 20 is r/w 20L or 20R) using Google maps or any other r/w data source.
  6. Hi Dirk, did you already read this post from the FAQ page? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1260
  7. Please send your request to support@aivlasoft.com. Your request should contain date of purchase, email used etc.
  8. Hi Nic, Apologizes accepted Please read this post viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1299 and scroll down to "Andydigitals" explanation about the "priority mechanism" of SimConnect. Maybe this will answer your question.
  9. No, version 1 does not support it. Sorry. For version 2 I will try to implement it.
  10. Andrew, either use the internet based route providers (VATroute, RouteFinder) or use any other flight planer which gives you a flight plan with airways. An EFB is not meant as a replacement for a flight planning tool although it has some basic capabilities to manually create a route.
  11. Hi Daniel, what you describe seems to be the well known SimConnect problem. At the beginning you see the traffic and after some time it disappears. If you do a search (see link below) you will find over 100 matches related to SimConnect and disappearing traffic. search.php?keywords=AI+traffic+simconnect Version 2 will no longer use SimConnect, it will use FSUIPC and hopefully the annoying problem will be gone then.
  12. Nic, can you send your user settings file (C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings\DisplayUnit_UserSettings.bin) to support@aivlasoft.com? Thanks.
  13. The server has been rebooted now and it seems that it works again.
  14. Ok, I see it. There seems to be something with the online data server.
  15. Edward, when does this message appear? Which function did you start?
  16. Ed, I can see the problem but I don't know the cause for it . What I can read from the logfile is as follows: 1) On the DisplayUnits computer the DataProvider's "Users AppData path" (C:\users\[username]\AppData ...) is given as "L:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider". 2) This path is given as a network location using a drive letter instead of a UNC name (e.g. \\server\share\filepath) 3) When you start the DisplayUnit for the second time (after a first successful connection), the path (see above [1]) seems to be no longer available and therefore the DisplayUnit cannot proceed. The last entry in the logfile is written just before the DisplayUnit verifies whether the path is available. Maybe this helps?
  17. ooops ... never realized that. You are right, the information is from the BGL and I'm quite sure that EFB reads it. Seems that I have to talk to the programmer
  18. Hi Sander, if you have the update installed, could you send me some flight plans for further inspection? (support@aivlasoft.com)
  19. Hi, From the error message I can read: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted It seems that the port which is used by EFB is already in use by another program, or somehow EFB has already been started?. Try to figure out whether another program is using port 51747. Once the other program is known, stop it. Then start the DataProvider, open the settings dialog and change the port number. Don't forget to also change the port number on the DisplayUnit's side. The port numbers must be equal for the DataProvider and the DisplayUnit(s). BTW: as per the forum rules please sign your post with your real first name.
  20. Graeme, Can you open any pdf files from within your browser? EFB is using the Microsoft browser control for presenting pdf files.
  21. Jason, Andy after some testing I must confess that's a bug in EFB. It was a missing "IF statement" ... I'm really surprised that this has not been noticed before That means that version 1.3.9 is on its way to the beta testers. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.
  22. Hi William, as far as I can see the CoRte format still doesn't support "directs" in a route. I tried it with trans Atlantic routes or any other route which consists of a DCT instead of a valid airway name. No luck. Are there other Airbus Extended users here in this forum who made other experiences with the CoRte format than I described above?
  23. Hi William, Whenever there is no approach available EFB at least shows all the possible ILS's. You must find the cause why there is no approach available, then the depiction of all ILS will no longer be done. Most probably it's a runway assignment problem. Have a look at your runways.txt file, there are already some entries for LFSB by default. Maybe they are obsolete (or wrong).
  24. Hi William, can you send me some AXE flight plans (-> support@aivlasoft.com)? So I can have a closer look and then decide whether a flight plan handler can be implemented easily or not. Thanks in advance. Since I know from the past that AXE could not handle directs in the flight plan (only airways), I would be interested in a flight plan which crosses the Atlantic, or is using direct waypoints in another way than the NATs.
  25. Wayne, could you please send me all the logfiles from both components (DU and DP) to support@aivlasoft.com? thanks.
