  1. If one is changing the port number, please have a look at this table first to not chose a port number which is already in use/reserved for another application. http://www.iana.org/assignments/service ... umbers.txt From that page: Port numbers are assigned in various ways, based on three ranges: System Ports (0-1023) User Ports (1024-49151) Dynamic and/or Private Ports (49152-65535)
  2. Hi, That's correct. Putting "ftp://" in front of the URL will not change things, and is not the cause of the problem. It has worked this way the last few years. I just did a test here from Switzerland and it works well.
  3. Andy, did you run the scenery data update from the DataProvider's menu after the installation has been done?
  4. Pablo, - press "Route Setup" - press "Select" - select any route, if necessary press OK - when back on the Route Setup dialog, select the second tab named "Alternates" - press "Add" and then select the requested airport from the airport selector, press "Get Airport Data" Now you have this selected airport listed in either the left side (enroute alternates), or the right side (destination alternates)
  5. Only relevant if the DisplayUnit is installed on the same computer than FSX is running: This is a Windows/FSX "problem" and has nothing to do with EFB. As soon as another window than FSX is getting the focus, the sound in FSX stops.
  6. The shortcuts only work if one of the charts or the flight log is currently displayed in the DisplayUnit, and what is really important, the FSX window must have the focus. If FSX doesn't have the focus (in other words, if it's not the active window) then it will not work.
  7. Oooops ... seems that I don't know my own program
  8. Hi Toby, I'm working on EFB since more than five years (more or less 7 days a week and 10 to 12 hours a day). Currently I'm taking a break since my batteries are a bit too low powered in the meantime ... Version 2 is a completely re-write of the code base with new features, a new and redesigned user interface and much more. Therefore it will not be a free update. Existing users will get a discount on the retail price. Currently no price is defined and also no discount.
  9. Hi Vaughan, you didn't miss anything, there is no option to select from. Only version 2.0 will have the option to select from several units of measurement.
  10. Hi Lukasz, thanks for sending me the files. With the Airport Design Editor I could open the file for EPGD and I see that the localizer and the glideslope is situated at the right position but it has the wrong identifier. This means that the localizer/glideslope for runway 29 has the identifier "11". EFB shows the "correct" information. For EPWR I cannot see any anomalies. What's the problem there?
  11. Hi all, this is a rough overview of the current status of development for version 2.0: - Supports FSX, FS9, P3D - Interface to the simulators will be FSUIPC (no longer SimConnect) - DataProvider (new name DataServer) is 98% finished - DisplayUnit is 60 - 70% finished - Beta tests has not yet started - Still a lot of features to program and even more to test - Entire documentation must be written - Installer must be programmed - Tutorial must be written, videos must be produced From the today's point of view I doubt whether it will be released this year
  12. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. When the airport information dialog is open, can you try to double-click into the free area on the LEFT side of the "Close" button. This will show you the name of the file which is currently read for that airport. If you send this file to support@aivlasoft.com (as zipped file) I can try to have a look at it. If the file size is too large to send via email you maybe can try to download Scruffy Ducks Airport Design Editor. With this tool you can easily verify whether the localizer is situated at the right place.
  13. Hi Toby, Due to development for version 2.0, implementing new features for 1.x has been stopped quite a long time ago. I will only do bug fixes if necessary. I hope for your understanding. Thanks.
  14. Toby, you can, if you are familiar with the data format. After you have changed a file, save it and then restart the DataProvider. Please make sure that you agree with the copyright and do not share modified files.
  15. Hi Toby, thanks for the good words on EFB. Much appreciated
  16. Hi Toby, KSZT is not included in NavDataPro. I cannot say why it is so, most probably KSZT is a small airport which is not used by the "big" international airlines. It's just a guess from my side, if you would like to know the reason for, please ask Aerosoft why KSZT is not included. BTW: to figure out whether an airport is included or not, just navigate to the folder where you have NavDataPro installed. Below this folder you will find a folder named "SIDSTARS". In that folder every airport is contained as a single text file. On my system this is for example F:\Navigation Data\Aerosoft NavDataPro 1.x\AivlaSoft\SIDSTARS.
  17. Thanks Christian, for the feedback. I'm glad to know that everything is back to normal.
  18. Christian, please don't get me wrong, but we cannot offer support for your local network configuration. We can only offer support for EFB related items. PC configuration items will always remain in the customers responsibility. The DataProvider automatically connects to SimConnect. The status "inactive" means that FSX currently is either paused (or any dialog window is opened), or FSX is not running at all.
  19. Christian, from the logfile I can see that the following problem has been reported: SocketException: Der Zugriff auf einen Socket war aufgrund der Zugriffsrechte des Sockets unzulässig This has nothing to do with the update to the latest version, it sounds more like a local TCP/IP configuration problem.
  20. John, EFB tries to find the ICAO country code depending on the country name which is read from the BGL file. Since Scotland is listed under 'EG' (Great Britain) the DataProvider cannot find a unique code for it and therefore it shows this warning (it's not an error).
  21. Hi Ronald, Unfortunately not. The cause for this is that all these Flight Management Systems are developed outside of FSX using their own environment and programming language. Some FMS are writing certain data files to certain folders whenever they have changed the route or a procedure. This is one way where EFB could "follow-up" any changes. Another way would be the implementation of specific code using an SDK from the developer of the FMS. As far as I know there is only PMDG who offers and SDK for the 737 NGX (but I'm not familiar with it). But let me bring up another idea . How about an independent (open source) server application which could be the exchange point for such things like route changes, procedure changes, weather briefings etc. ...
  22. Alexandre, The folder "....Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData\Routes" contains EFB routes only. The file type is ".efbr". FSX flight plans (when created with FSX flight planner) will be saved in the folder ".... Documents\Fichiers Flight Simulator X.
  23. Hi Ivo, thanks for the screenshots. Could you please send me all the logfiles from both computers to support@aivlasoft.com. You can locate the files on each of your computers as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles
  24. Hi Mark, thank you for coming in. Interestingly I' currently working on the ground chart for version 2.0. In the last few weeks I have learned a lot and I already can say that the missing labels in version 1.x for the most of all runway entry/exit points will appear in version 2.0, of course only if they are named. It was a bit tricky but I could find a way to 'isolate' and depict them. I can also say that the closed taxiways will appear in another color than the open taxiways. The color can be selected. Since I'm not yet working on the taxiway guidance feature I cannot yet say how it and weather it will work in version 2, but at least I can say that the most important condition for a working guidance system is that the taxiways are properly named and that each taxiway path connects to the next one. As soon as there will be a gap in between two paths, EFB cannot 'jump' over this gap. Soon (in the next few days) I will work on that feature and as soon as possible I will get back to this thread and report how it works in version 2.
