1. Hi, which AIRAC cycle are you using? Which provider (Navigraph or Aerosoft)? and please, according to the forum rules (see at the top of the page) sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
2. Hi Jeff, did you insert the folder name into both text boxes (Navigation data folders when running FSX and P3D)?
3. Hi, most probably you have installed FSX into the default installation folder (e.g. "C:\Program Files(x86) ... \Flight Simulator X"). The PMDG installation folder is one of the folders below and therefore it underlies the same restrictions as all folders below the default installation folder. This is a security feature and was introduced with Windows Vista. There are two ways to solve it: a) start the DisplayUnit with right click and run it "as administrator" (then your DisplayUnit will have enough privileges to write to that PMDG folder) install your FSX to another folder (which is not the easiest way for obvious reasons )
4. Hi Andy, just press the Windows Start Button, then "All Programs", "AivlaSoft", "EFB", "Logfiles". Just zip all the files within that directory and send them to support@aivlasoft.com If you have a network installation and the DataProvider runs on another machine than the DisplayUnit, please send these files too. Thanks.
5. Hi Robert, please send an email to support@aivlasoft.com and include the email address which you have used when you made the purchase. Thanks.
6. Hi Morten, you cannot remove runways from that dialog. Greyed out means that there are no procedures available for a certain runway. The runways.txt file is only to assign FSX runway identifiers (which might be outdated) to navdata runway identifiers which are up to date. If you use the 'nil' argument means that for a certain runway no assignment is made, but since the runway in FSX still exists, it will be shown on that dialog, but greyed out. Hope this helps to sort out the runway-confusion .
7. Simon, technically it is possible, but ... according to the license agreement:
8. Josh, from what I can see in the logfiles and from what you have described I must assume that the installer has not been applied on both machines. If a full-setup is required then you must run this full-setup on both machines, so that in the end on both machines the same versions are installed. If only an update must be done, also run the update-installer on both machines. If there are different versions of the DisplayUnit and/or DataProvider then you will not get it to run. One of the errors in the logfile (file not found "s4.bin") let me assume that on this machine a very old version must have been running before only the update has been applied. To make sure that all files are correctly installed, please download the full-setup of the latest version 1.3.10 and run it on both computers. You don't have to manually clean your system before, just run the uninstaller from the Windows Control Panel > Uninstall program. Here is the link to the download: http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/Aivla ... .10.exe.7z
9. Hi James, could you please send me your runways.txt to support@aivlasoft.com? Thanks. Will have a look into it ...
10. Hi Jim, thanks for your help and patience. I'm working on a new beta version which I will send to you for test asap.
11. ... still awaiting reply from the 3rd party supplier.
12. Hi Jim, Thanks for the screenshots. It's even weird now. I sent an email to the support of this third party licensing system. Hopefully he can shed some light on me.
13. Mark, Did you receive any helpful information (detailed error description) when the emails returned to you?
14. Mark, the server is up and running. No downtime in the last few weeks. Can you have a look in the folder "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles" whether there are some files in? If so, could you please send them to support@aivlasoft.com. Thanks.
15. Thomas, please check whether you can pull down the horizontal divider at the top of the Enroute chart using your mouse: left click on the small area with the four dots (see red elipse on image below), hold down the left button, then drag.
16. Hi Jim, no, there is no way to run the DisplayUnit without the DataProvider. Do you run a proxy server in your network?
17. Hi Ray, thanks for this information. I never did such a test so it's even more helpful to know about your findings.
18. Hi Alex, that is not depending on EFB, it's part of the files that come from IVAO. EFB only reads and analyzes them but I'm not the owner of these files. If I only knew where to get the latest files ... BTW, you can easily edit these files using any text editor like the Windows notepad.exe.
19. Hi Alex, I guess that "EHAM_CTR" is not listed in the "firs.dat" file on your computer. Therefore EFB cannot recognize it.
20. Hi Brendan, do you know what errors happened? Maybe error codes or descriptions? Did you install any windows updates or other software which might cause the errors?
21. Jim, I'm sorry but I don't know which one(s) it is trying to connect to. It's part of the activation software which is from third party. I didn't program it. But when I see that you can access to time.nist.gov using port 13, then I must assume that the problem is not related to port 13. Since you seem to be very well equipped, can you maybe try to log the time when the DataProvider starts up, so maybe you can read from that log what is blocked? Can you also send me the DataProvider logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? They can be located as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles Hopefully there is some trace therein ...
22. David, I do not think that EFB is quirky. Please have a look at the operations manual, section 5, page 8. Almost at the top of the page you can see the syntax of a route description as follows: FROM{ETD} {SPDALT} {SID{.TRNS}} {Enroute} {STAR{.TRNS}} TO{ETA} {ALTN} Whenever you use "ENE.PARCH1" as either a waypoint or a procedure, EFB will not recognize this as a valid entry, neither as a waypoint nor as a procedure, because according to the syntax the procedure name (PARCH1) must be first, followed by the transition name (ENE). I also created a route with this combination, but EFB did not accept ENE.PARCH1 as a STAR/Transition instead of just did not throw an exception. But in the table where the route waypoints are listed, no information about the STAR was added. Only if you use PARCH1.13B.ENE it will be recognized as STAR "PARCH1.13B" with transition "ENE". The addition "13B" (or any other similar combination) is part of the name of the STAR, at least when using Navigraph or Aerosoft navigation data.
23. Hi Jim, port 13 is used to communicate with a time server on the internet. This is due to security reasons when verifying a valid demo license. I'm not sure whether it uses TCP or UDP or both of them. Please verify that both protocol types are allowed.
