  1. Before going deeper into troubleshooting, make sure you run the Server as Admin.
  2. No, no starting order required. What error box do you see? Do you start the Server as Administrator? This is MANDATORY (see also User Manual).
  3. I have checked out the freeware version of vroute, however I see - if I'm correct - that vroute is a route DATABASE not a route PLANNER, almost exclusively for airline operations. So it is unuseable for short GA IFR flights. I've done soo many flights of the "first kind". My main purpose - at least 75% - of simming today is flying short routes in adverse weather from airports that noone would ever fly to ? It's "back to the roots" for me. Airline flying was great at times, but now it's boring...? In that context vroute is of no help for me - except if the payware version would be a real PLANNER - competing with PFPX.
  4. Well, it's all about the eternal battle among add-on manufacturers. Scenery designers just ignore the fact that the content of a BGL File might also be used for other purposes (e.g. to display the ground layout of an airport, that's actually what they were initially made for...) Today's scenery designers use the "AFCAD" BGL's to guide AI traffic and therefore just close down runways that they don't want to be used with AI traffic. Nevertheless those runways are fully serviceable und useable, Just not in the eye of the designers. There are other examples where runways are simply drawn with a width of 0 meters or other funny combinations. As Urs also mentioned there are also "fake" runways used for whatever reason the designers decides. This does not make life extremely simple if you want to use the BGL's the way they have initially been designed for. EFB however offers a solution which is already implemented, but not yet used as there are no respective files published. It's called the AFCAD function. EFB v2 has a separate directory, where Ground polygon BGL's can be placed for the purpose of DISPLAY in EFB v2's Ground Map only. Instructions will follow in the next few days, in combination with a few sample files.
  5. The two "boxed" values in the Wind Indication Window are the actual Wind COMPONENTS. If the value is ON TOP, it means Headwind, at the bottom Tailwind respectively. Same left and right: The Box on the right means that there is a right Crosswind component of 15 KTS acting on the A/C. the two arrows (Vectors, only visible in Worlds Map if VCT is active) show the Ground Track (green)and the (windcorrected) Heading (magenta) of the A/C.
  6. Gentlemen, let's conclude this discussion about exporters : There are none for a few reasons. I know, many of you use the argument "that they were present in v1". Simulation has greatly developed and improved over the last few years, also in tems of Add-Ons and free websites for all kind of Route planning. But the initial statement is this: EFB v2 is NO (and it never claimed to be) Flight Planning software! Although it has limited planning capabilities for short flights, it is NO Flight Planning software. it is - as its name says - an Electronic Flight Bag containing all sorts of information to conduct a Flight AFTER the routing has been planned. EFB v2 is a piece of software which uses it's own Flightplan (routing) format like many other Simulator Add-On do. It furthermore allows direct loading (uplink) of Routings in formats such as *.txt, *.pln and holds it's own library of Company routes in *.efbr format. Why is this funny idea still present, that there seems to be kind of an "obligation" for EFB v2 to offer export facilities for other Add-Ons Filghtplan (routings) format? I repeat it: EFB v2 is NO (and it never claimed to be) Flight Planning software! Would you ask any other Add-On manufacturer that offers an Add-On with it's owh Routing format to provide exporters for other Add-Ons (PMDG, FSL, Aerosoft, Majestic to name only a few)? No, of course you wouldn't. So why do you think EFB v2 seems to be obliged to provide this feature? As it has been previously mentioned, this must be in the hands (and it is!) of the numerous Flightplan (Routing) Creation programs and websites. Most of those Routing Creation Programs offer export provisions for many different formats, some even simultaneously at one click. So again: why should EFB v2 also include this feature, if it is already present in many Flight Planning facilities? I can't repeat it often enough: EFB v2 is NO Flight Planning software...?
  7. The manuals are always installed in both the Server and the Client path (subfolder \manuals in the documents path). They are als accessible directly through the Client's DOC (uments) Button. There is no functional restriciton in Demo Mode, just a limited tiem access.
  8. I couldn't agree more on the "feature praise" for PMDG. So why does nobody ask PMDG to accept other Flightplan formats? Funny enogh, my guess is that nobody would ever dare ? But ok, AivlaSoft should do it then, just because PMDG can't on won't? It's a kind of logic that I can't follow properly.?...
  9. Don't be too picky on that "real world" issue. I agree, Simming is Entertainment, Leisure, whatever you name it. There are so many tools around that can provide flightplans in various formats, even in *.efbr EFB format, and all with one click. I simply don't understand why you would want to import a Flightplan into EFB, then export it to another Add-On, although you can get the same Flightplan in that Add-On format too. There is simply no need to have an exporter in EFB because you can get any flightplan in almost every format. There were some examples already mentioned. Why making exporters for something that can be obtained elsewhere?
  10. Quite frankly: EFB v2 can only draw what it has available in the BGL for that airport. If you use any third party BGL, EFB is "not responsible" - so to speak - for any missing item if is is not in the BGL, or - as most probably in this example - declared closed. Just as an example: EKCH is complete with all runways in the default BGL.
  11. What kind of "educational approach" do you mean?
  12. You would wonder how many do that ? I've been wordering about that too, but finally I have given up and just believe it... I have quite some experience In testing complex Add-On aircraft and I wouldn't remember one single aircraft where proper saving of all items for an inflight break had not been a major concern ?
  13. I'm not sure what ou mean. You can of course quit EFB v2 any time you like. It will maintain the last A/C position and - if on a Flightplan - a copy of your routing. Whenever you chose to continue the flight, EFB is with you again. The main theme of this thread discusses opening a Flightplan (Routing) if the last position within EFB v2 was NOT on ground. That's a bit different. One situation is about continuing a flight, the other is about beginning a new one.
  14. Client Build #70, I guess same as yours...?
  15. Well, it's not that bad?You wo'n't hurt anybody if you climb at your own discretion... As a good rule use the Transition Altitude as your first climb limit, in FAA controlled airspace (TA18.000 ft) use 6000 ft. That suits in most cases...
  16. Unfortunately the initial altitude fo a SID is not part of the ARINC dataset. That's one of the few things that we simply can't depict as we don't have the infornation. We can only depict restrictions which are sometimes identical to initial altitudes as e.g.on many British airports. Personally I'm by no means happy with that situation either. Maybe one day we find a solution for that.
  17. EFB v2 does not use ILS data from ARINC for an apparent reasaon: FSX or any of it's derivatives can only tune freqencies that are read from BGL's (be it Add-On or default). To improve this situation we highly recommend to use Hervé Sors' NavDatabase Update (Freeware) http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html For Europe the ILS frequencies are updated in the regular "World Navaid Package". For additional coverage of worldwide ILS' use the "ILS regional update (World except Europe)".
  18. Oh come on, we are aware of that! They were issueing twice the same tracks!! (allow me to write this a bit bigger and more emphasized...) We may be stupid, but not THAT stupid! Edit: Ok, I can reduce the fontsize again. The impact created was as expected...?
  19. We found the reason: for no apparent reason the NAT tracks were issued twice today! We will nevertheless introduce countermeasures for that. Who knows how many times this can and will happen (I've never seen that before though). This issue will be addressed with the next update.
  20. No, there is no starting order. If you get an error, we require the logfiles for tracing.
  21. According to your first screenshot your A/C is not on ground. It is flying at 145 KTS Ground Speed on a heading of 270°. That's what EFB tells me about your A/C. You can't open a Company Route if the A/C is airborne (for EFB v2). I mentioned that before. If the simulator is not running, EFB keeps the last A/C position, thus the tabs in the FPL selection window are greyed out.. When you start the Simulator at an airport, of course EFB's Position is reset to that airport and there are no more greyed-out tabs. the only remedy to select a routing without running simulator is to land the A/C before shutting down EFB v2.
  22. Using Vertical Profile does only make sense if you don't use it on an A/C with FMC. You will never see correlation between an FMC descent and an EFB v2 descent. That's not the basic idea. That's also the reason why we deactivated the Vertical Profile for A/C with FMC/FMS. It simply doesn't make sense to use EFB's TOD if it is alreeady generated by the FMC/FMS. It is meant to be an addition to non-FMC A/C, not a comparison to FMC A/C
  23. I see. iFly obviously uses a separate performance file for each engine rating. This means that we ill have to enter all three lines into the air-file ist. Thank you for your service ?
  24. Hello Ray! Thanks for your comment.
