  1. Richard, if this happens again, could you please have a look at the "AI aircraft monitor" which can be opened from the DataProvider's menu. This monitor shows exactly the output of FSX, or in other words, what EFB is getting from FSX. If there is a difference between the monitor and what the DisplayUnit is indicating, please take a screenshot so I can see it.
  2. Hi, After some tests with SB4 I must come to the following finding: Field "GS [kts]" most probably contains the value for "true airspeed" which is higher than IAS (approx. 2% for every 1000 feet ALT) e.g. ALT = 20'000 feet, IAS = 200 knots, then TAS is 20 * 2% higher than IAS = 1.4 * IAS = 280 knots. Field "IAS [kts]" most probably contains the value for groundspeed. I compared several aircraft tags in VAT-Spy and all of them indicated the value from the monitors column "IAS" as their groundspeed. We will do some further tests, also with FSInn and IvAp. As soon as we are sure that we know all the hidden secrets about "how-does-the-pilot-client-software-inject-its-data-to-FSX" I will create a service pack.
  3. oskar11, please, according to the forum rules sign your post with your real first name. Thx. You cannot change the speed from knots in Km/h. The indication of the speed is always knots. But if you are flying online (VATSIM or IVAO) and the pilot client software you're using is providing the speed of the aircraft in Km/h it can be set that this speed will re-calculated as knots. (Display-Unit settings > Charts > Traffic: Pilot client software provides groundspeed in Km/h).
  4. George, could you take a screenshot and send it to support@aivlasoft.com. It would also be helpful if you were enclosing all the logfiles. They can be found as follows: Windows Start menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles. Thanks.
  5. Todd, with "the tool" you mean the "AI aircraft monitor"? If the monitor is indicating 807kts then this is definitely too much. Will have a look at this.
  6. Todd, I know that running in full screen mode is nicer ... but for investigations (and the "AI aircraft monitor" is only built for investigation purposes) it would be helpful if you could give it a try in windowed mode. Thanks for understanding. BTW, downgrading to 1.3.1 SP5 is not a good idea
  7. Clive, Travis a look into the "LHPP_AF2_X.bgl" file tells me that this file is a FS9/2004 bgl file. It contains unknown structures for EFB, which can only read FSX bgl files.
  8. Vic, thanks for the files. I think that I know what's the problem. Please open the "Save as" dialog and tick the checkbox of the following two flight plan handlers to have a look at their patterns: 1) Level-D 2) PMDG RTE Both of them have a single # as pattern. Unfortunately this pattern will also be considered although the handler itself is not marked as "active". This is a bug (sorry!). But you can easily change the pattern for these two handlers by replacing the # by any other pattern (e.g. "ICAO_From"). Then press OK and untick the checkbox of the handler. I hope that this workaround will solve the issue.
  9. Brad, Do you mean the OTPV (online traffic preview) function on the ground chart options bar, or do you mean the "AI aircraft monitor" which can be run from the DataProvider's "Data" menu? Did you verify that there is no range limitation set? (in EFB and FSInn/Squawkbox).
  10. Peter, the port number is pre-set (51747) and must not be changed normally. Only in a situation where this port number is already in use by another program, you must change the port number. The F11 key brings the window to the front (if it were behind the FSX window) but only if the EFB window is not minimized in the task bar. Once it is in the task bar you have to bring it up like you described. Do you mean the FSX internal EFB-menu which allows you to select from several menu items?
  11. Vic, could you please send me the file "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings\DisplayUnit_UserSettings.bin" to support@aivlasoft.com. Thx.
  12. Todd, have you had a look at the "AI aircraft monitor" when that happened? It would be interested which values the monitor is showing. The monitor is a new feature which came with 1.3.2. It can be started from the DataProvider's menu ("Data" > "AI aircraft monitor") and it shows the native values which come out of FSX.
  13. Sebastian, no thanks. But if it should happen again, then please send me the files.
  14. Sebastian, could you send me all the logfiles from the DisplayUnit's computer? If it's a network based installation, please send me the logfiles from the DataProvider's computer too. The logfiles can be found as follows (Win7): Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles. It would also be helpful if you could take a screenshot when the exception occurs. You may send all to support@aivlasoft.com. Thanks.
  15. Joe, Navigraph does not provide procedures for all airports on the world. Current cycle (1201) provides 3'792 airport files. Unfortunately PKWA and PTSA are not part of that data.
  16. Hi Iain, To be short: No, they are not the same. The charts in EFB are calculated and rendered every one second. This is done based on data from FSX (for airports, runways, navaids, landing aids ...) and from Navigraph FMS data for all procedures (SIDs, STARs, Approaches).
  17. Please, according to the forum rules, sign your posts with your r/w first name. Thanks. Please send me all the logfiles from both computers to support@aivlasoft.com. The logfiles can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles
  18. Lothar, please send the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com.
  19. Jean-Louis, There were (ans still are) two different implementations: a) Online traffic and AI (offline-) trafficOnline traffic always has shown and still shows only the destination of a flight whereas the offline traffic now shows both, the departure and destination ICAO code. For one it might be important for another one not. I think that's up to everyone's personal decision.
  20. Jean-Louis, Please see William's screenshot above. Yes, that's correct. No, it's a feature that has been implemented only with 1.3.2.
  21. All what can be said is that existing customers will get a discount when purchasing version 2.
  22. Morten, it's not my intention to force you back to any other program, but please bear in mind that EFB was developed basically for IFR flying. If you fly under IFR condition, then you must select a certain runway to land and a procedure which guides you to that runway. The idea that Travis brought up seems to be interesting. I cannot promise anything but I will have a look at this as soon as I work in that area for version 2.
  23. Mark, what are the TCP/IP settings on the DisplayUnit's computer? - did you set "Server Mode" to remote? - is the "Server name" exactly the name of the DataProviders's computer? - are both computers members of the same workgroup? No, to my knowledge this is not necessary. If it were a DNS problem (DNS cannot resolve the DataProviders IP-address from the given name) then I can say that the upcoming update 1.3.2 will allow you to set a IP-address instead of only the name of the DataProvider's computer. Maybe this will help to solve the problem.
  24. Andreas, can you provide a screenshot of the error message, and maybe you could send all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? The files can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles
