  1. Justin, thanks for this explanation, and no worries about the "long" text. It's better to explain in details than just drop a line and let the programmer speculate ... I encountered that sometimes controllers are using a callsign which is not defined in the file ServInfo.dat which contains all the callsign definitions. If a controller uses a not defined callsign then EFB cannot recognize it. If such a situation occurs again, please go to the "RouteSetup" page, press the button "Check ..." (next to "Online network") and have a look at the second tab "Unknown callsigns". Let me know whether the missing JAX center (or any other that you're missing) is listed there.
  2. Hi, the exception "could not read ...String was not recognized as a valid Boolean." means that the scenery.cfg somehow is corrupt. It contains lines which are not according to what they were intended for. This is a snippet from the scenery.cfg and it shows how it should be (where TRUE and FALSE are so called "booleans": [Area.037] Title=0402 Base Local=Scenery\0402 Layer=37 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE I often see it that lines in the scenery.cfg are messed up due to some installations which then might look like this: [Area.037] Title=0402 Base Local=Scenery\0402 Layer=37 Active=TRUE Required=FALSEAndHereIsSomeTextThatDoesntBelongToHere If the DataProvider is parsing the lines it will stuck because it cannot recognize "FALSE" or "TRUE" after Required. Please have a look into the scenery.cfg file on your computer and verify whether you find such lines. Normally (on Win7 systems) the file can be found as follows: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX
  3. Gert, I'm working on a solution. Thanks anyway for the post.
  4. Cedric, I'm not a network specialist, but I assume that normally one has not to change any settings for "inhouse" network traffic. But on the other hand, I don't know your router nor the settings. So I'm afraid that I can't tell you the one and only wisdom ...
  5. Hi, I'm currently working on a test program which might help to find the cause of these strange things. If you like I can send it to you too, so you can test and help.
  6. Cedric, If you change the values please make sure that they are equal on both sides. No, I don't know of such a possibility. I do not have this software, so maybe other users can help? Most often the best option, especially if you have a pre-installed laptop where the sellers often install a lot of rubbish ...
  7. Cedric, a timeout means that either the DisplayUnit or the DataProvider did not acknowledge a received message within a certain amount of time. The cause for that can be the network, but it can also be another bottleneck (most probably on the laptop). What are the specs of this laptop? What are the specs of the wireless network (transfer rate). Are you running other CPU-/Memory-consuming applications simultaneously on this laptop?
  8. Nic, Yes, that's right. But you still and always can save the route itself to the PMDG's FMCs. We should not forget that saving a route WITH procedures is not r/w like. So I always suggest to not save the procedures (SIDs, STARs, Approaches) together with a route. Save only the route. This way a route can be re-used at any time, adding any procedures will only be done later when you are in the cockpit and when you know the winds and the runways in use, etc.
  9. William, I'm working on a test program which should help us to figure out the cause of all these strange things. I will get in touch with you (and Richard as well) as soon as I'm ready.
  10. Nicola, with version 1.3.2 we added a new feature to the "flight plan save" function. If you open the "Save flightplan as ..." dialog you will notice that there is a new checkbox "Write procedures". If you tick this box, EFB will write all waypoints, including procedure waypoints, to the corresponding flight plan format. If this box is not ticked, you will only have the enroute waypoints saved. Your flight plan doesn't have a single enroute point and therefore I assume that you only get a plan which contains the origin and the destination airport only. I think that this is the reason why you don't get a flight plan as you expect it.
  11. Hans, you're right. Ctrl-Shift-I is assigned for reverse pitch. I'm aware of this, therefore I wrote in the manual and on the shortcut-definitions window "... to make sure that the shortcuts doesn't conflict with current FSX settings". But anyway, thanks for the info.
  12. Hi, could you send me the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? I'm not sure but maybe there is a hint what could cause the stutter. Never heard that before ... The logfiles can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles. BTW, according to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. I like to know to whom I'm talking . Thanks.
  13. Richard, William, do you see a chance that I could get the "IvAp" program, just for doing some tests?
  14. Jopie60, According to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thx. These shortcuts are only working if FSX is the foreground window. Please make sure that FSX has the focus and not any other running program (You must hear the FSX sound, then you know that FSX is your foreground window).
  15. Richard, Any chance to test with IvAp on the same computer than FSX is running? It is also important to know whether ALL pilots flying on IVAO are having the same problems, or does it affect only some of them? In one of your posts you mentioned that you couldn't see an aircraft on the ground which was close to your aircraft (left or right side, at the gate). Did you check this via OTPV or were you already connected with IvAp and you did this check via TRFC? If it was via OTPV, please bear in mind that the delay can be up to five minutes.
  16. Hi, very strange, never heard before. Does FSX already stutter BEFORE the DataProvider connect to any DisplayUnit, or only after connecting to any DisplayUnit? How many other add-ons are simultaneously running on the FSX computer? Do you run a network? (cable/wireless) (please, according to the forum rules, sign your posts with your real first name. Thx.)
  17. Peter, Please have a look at the installation manual, page 28 of 33.
  18. Richard, There has been changed something in the logic. Several issues could have been eliminated this way but it seems that the IVAO AI traffic now is worse than before. If you encounter such a situation where you don't see traffic on the DisplayUnit but you know that there must be some traffic, please open the AI aircraft monitor (from the DataProviders menu 'Extras' and have a look what is listed there. The AI aircraft monitor shows the unfiltered and direct outcome of FSX. If there is nothing in the list, then the DisplayUnit cannot indicate traffic, if the list is populated but the DisplayUnit is not indicating this traffic, then it's up to EFB. Are you running a lot of additional add-ons when flying online? Do you run a networked installation?
  19. Hi, FBS means "Fall back service". It's a service that is mainly implemented for user's convenience. If the connection to the AivlaSoft online data server breaks (this can happen due to maintenance on the server), EFB tries to get online data from the servers at VATSIM or IVAO. If FBS is on, every 5 minutes it then tries to get back to the AivlaSoft server. Once the service can re-connect to the AivlaSoft server the indication FBS=ON disappears.
  20. @Richard, Thanks for these screenshots. You can see that nothing comes out from FSX and therefore EFB cannot indicate the aircraft seen on the above screenshot. It remains mysterious why SimConnect doesn't provide this traffic. As already mentioned in earlier posts, what you see (or what you not see) on the AI aircraft monitor is the unfiltered output from SimConnect. I can't fix it, it's beyond EFB.
  21. Felix, You're right, what EFB indicates seems to be wrong. I will have a look at this.
  22. Richard, if this happens again, could you please have a look at the "AI aircraft monitor" which can be opened from the DataProvider's menu. This monitor shows exactly the output of FSX, or in other words, what EFB is getting from FSX. If there is a difference between the monitor and what the DisplayUnit is indicating, please take a screenshot so I can see it.
  23. Hi, After some tests with SB4 I must come to the following finding: Field "GS [kts]" most probably contains the value for "true airspeed" which is higher than IAS (approx. 2% for every 1000 feet ALT) e.g. ALT = 20'000 feet, IAS = 200 knots, then TAS is 20 * 2% higher than IAS = 1.4 * IAS = 280 knots. Field "IAS [kts]" most probably contains the value for groundspeed. I compared several aircraft tags in VAT-Spy and all of them indicated the value from the monitors column "IAS" as their groundspeed. We will do some further tests, also with FSInn and IvAp. As soon as we are sure that we know all the hidden secrets about "how-does-the-pilot-client-software-inject-its-data-to-FSX" I will create a service pack.
