  1. I thought I would post an update, in case other users may be in the same predicament. You need ti install the legacy SimConnect versions shipped in the Prepar3D v4 installer. These are located in the redist folder in your Prepar3D installation directory. Cheers Nic
  2. Hi, I am having an issue in launching EFB Data Provider. I get the following error message (details): "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found. File name: 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll'". Win10 Pro x64 and P3D4 Installation Path is C:\Program Files (x86)\AivlaSoft Screenshot of error message attached here under. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Cheers Nic
  3. Dear Travis & Urs, Happy New Year and thank you so much for the long awaited P3D compatible EFB version. Much appreciated. I just installed the full version on the newly purchased P3D v2 and I am having problems with the license not being recognized. Basically, after entering the old license key or product key, neither of them enable the activate license button. Thanks in advance for your assistance, Cheers Nic
  4. Update! I thought I would post some new findings in case others may have the same issue. I thought the problem was with the installation. Maybe it was. However, I also found that if the weather provider's server is down, it will not inject weather info into the FSX and EFB. That's what happened again a few days ago with REX, the connection with the REX server got reset and the wing speed and direction disappeared again. So, if it happens to any of you, please do look into the weather source for solution, especially if it is injecting info into your FSX. Cheers N
  5. Urs, I am sure the majority of the existing users appreciate what's going on behind the scenes and, I for one, will be more than happy to part with some cash, as the only possible token of appreciation for the time you are dedicating to what is being (for me at least) a much anticipated upgrade of an add-on I could not live without during sim-flying Let's hope so, Travis
  6. Thanks a lot Andy. It was very helpful. It inspired me to try a clean reinstall of REX first, before seeking additional support, which indeed sorted out the problem. Perhaps it was just a bad installation issue. Cheers Nic
  7. Recently I upgraded almost at the same time both EFB and REX to latest versions. And three days ago I added the PMDG B777. Yesterday I did a flight (YMML to VHHH) and throughout the flight, while REX kept injecting weather into FSX, the wind direction and speed were missing on the both the EFB's Display Unit and the B777 ND. On the EFB's Display Unit, I could see the a/c icon on the top left corner of the moving map. However, there were no speed and direction values (underscores were in the place of the relevant values) and no yellow wind direction arrow either. The moving map was in "follow the aircraft" select mode. On the B777 ND, the wind speed and direction + the direction arrow were missing altogether. I have no idea where to start from to pin point the issue. I did point EFB settings to the METARXML folder within REX, as opposed to METAR folder used in the past. METAR folder is still available in the new REX version. However, it is always empty. And I did a clean reinstall of REX for this new update, after I had issues with their new updater. I thought I would start asking here first. Any help will be hugely appreciated. Cheers Nic
  8. Hi Urs, Thanks a lot again. That Andydigitals post was very helpful and it saved me from wanting to do yet another reformat and reinstall of everything ... I thought, in fact, it was an installation problem. Now I know where to look for trying and solving the problem ... I am going to try an external frame limiter. Fingers crossed. Cheers and happy weekend, Nic
  9. Dear Urs, This is an official apology. It is as I suspected ... all I had to do was to click on the TRFC button, which I didn't know it even exists. Please bear with me. Trying to squeeze in some leisure time in my already limited spare time and not always having the time to read the manuals ... in this case, I was actually reading the wrong manual and by chance I started reading the Operation Manual I am sorry! Kind regards Nic PS ... I could still use any hints about the SimConnect error message
  10. Urs, Thanks for the prompt reply. I emailed you the requested file. Few more things I had forgotten to mention: 1. I keep getting the error message on green tape: "ERROR: Please lower the amount of AI traffic configured. (More than 1000 simultaneous SimConnect requests!)" 2. I use two monitors. FSX is run in window mode one the main monitor, with the Display Unit on the secondary monitor, alongside REX window. Not sure if the above can have an effect. Thank you very much for your assistance. Cheers Nic EDIT: I have gone through the Operations Manual (release August 2011) and I have a sickening feeling that the answer may lay at page 19 of Section 7 - Charts, which I did overlook earlier on. I may be able to check that only this evening (UTC + 8). And, if that is the case, I will be very embarrassed and I would deeply apologize for wasting your time. With that been said, if you have any idea about the error message from SimConnect, in case it is related to the EFB, it will help solving something that has been bugging me for months and which I wish to resolve soon, or in the worse scenario by yet another formatting and clean installation at some point in my rare spare time
  11. Hi, I ma having the same problem and I thought I would tag on this thread already started on the same subject, even if the OP had his problem solved ... lucky him Traffic settings are as suggested in the Installation manual. Ai Traffic monitor gets filled after starting a flight and I can see AI Traffic flying around me. However no AI Traffic can be seen in the Display Unit, neither airborne nor on the ground. I tried and reset to defaults, like the OP did. No luck on my side. The traffic add-on I am using is MyTraffic X 54b and the following are my settings for Traffic in FSX [TrafficManager] AIRPORT_SCENERY_DENSITY=2 AirlineDensity=30 FreewayDensity=20 GADensity=30 IFROnly=0 LeisureBoatsDensity=40 ShipsAndFerriesDensity=40 My hardware: i7 2600 - GTX 660 Ti - 16GB RAM - HDD= WD Black Caviar 1Tb Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers Nic
  12. Travis In some instances I have encountered some unmatching runways issues ... at ZSPD, if I remember correctly. Is there a tutorial on how to edit the runways.txt file (i.e. a guidline on what info to look for and at, and what to change and how) ... ? Cheers Nic
  13. Really? Does that mean we won't be able to export/save procedures to PMDG's FMC anymore? If that's so, while my fav a/c is the iFly 737NGX and I only seldom fly the PMDG 747 and 748, that is still a little bummer Anyway, thanks for the clarification. Cheers Nic
