1. Yes, I got an answer from the lead developer (sorry for not posting earlier) who said that the files will never be overwritten. He also confirmed that if EFB does a sort (ascending) of the files in that directory, the last file will then always contain the latest METAR data. I guess, there is nothing to change in EFB
2. Hi, Of course, I did! Stupid me ... I was irritated by the file name ended with X (thought that this is for X-plane). Ok, seems that there are too many "X" around me
3. Hi Otto, Yes, that's the problem. I was just about to install the scenery when I realized that on the first screen the following title appears " ... for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004"
4. Hi, I don't know what the issue could be so I just bought the scenery for further testing. I'll keep you informed about the outcome. BTW, according to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
5. Pascal, do you have a wireless network or cabled network? If it runs on a wireless network it can take several moments to load due to the sometimes poor performance of wireless networks.
6. Hi Geb, did you already read this post? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=145
7. Hi Wil, please read the operations manual, section 2 "DataProvider", page 3. I think that this should answer your question.
8. I will ask the REXe programmers whether they can shed some light on me so I can fix it.
9. Clive, On the screenshot I can see that the METAR code on the REX screen is different than the METAR code on the EFB screen. Just to be sure, did you press the "Refresh" button already? The timestamp (Observation time UTC) is taken from the METAR code. If the METAR code contains 1020Z then EFB will show 1020Z regardless of any other timestamp in REXe. Which folder did you reference in the DisplayUnit settings?
10. Clive, I have some plans/ideas in mind for version 2. Since version 2 will be available for FS9 too, FSUIPC will be used anyway. But it's too early to make any promises concerning technical details as I'm not yet working on that interface.
11. Clive, I don't have the "right" answer, sorry. I only know that "FSX" is not equivalent to "SimConnect". Although FSX is showing AI traffic it does not mean that SimConnect is forwarding this traffic data to all the clients that are connected with. Sometimes I have the impression that SimConnect swallows some data, especially on high loads.
12. Hi Martyn, EFB needs the data from IvAe to show the FIR/ARTCC boundaries. IvAe itself must not running for this, only the data must be available. That't why EFB needs to know that folder. The list of active ATC comes from the IVAO servers (via AivlaSoft server).
13. Hi Alfredo, I just released update 1.3.4 which fixes the problem. http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/index.html
14. Stefan, I just released update 1.3.4 which fixes the problem. http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/index.html
15. Hi, I'm sorry but I don't understand your question. It would be helpful to me if you were describe it in more details. What are "airmail letters"?
16. Stefan, it seems that this is a bug that comes with 1.3.3. The DisplayUnit tries to read the FSX installation path from the registry which is obviously not possible if the DisplayUnit is running on another computer than FSX is installed. I will do some tests asap and let you know whether there is a feasible workaround.
17. Hi Alfredo, yes, you're right. Changing the word "FROM" to "TO" is a workaround.
18. Hi Alfredo, thanks for this detailed report. I had a look at the Navigraph procedure description and I can see what's the problem. It's an 'old' problem since the procedure description does not clearly distinct between "TO" and "FROM" if a distance is given. Since the description writes "TRK 165 UNTIL 15.0 FROM FIX MHN" the procedure is depicted as on your screenshots. I will have a look into the source code, maybe there is a chance for another update
19. Current users may update their EFB installations by downloading and executing the AivlaSoft EFB Installer or Setup 1.3.3 found here. NEW : Now supports REX Essentials weather data files IMPRV: Slightly improved ground chart depiction FIXED: Some minor bugfixes
20. Hi Marc-Andre, EFB is using FTP for downloading data from NOAA. Maybe this is the problem on your computer? Do you see a yellow circle and an error message in the status bar on the lower left side of the DisplayUnit when the message appears "METAR currently not available"?
21. Hallo Wolfgang, I tried to install the scenery but somehow I was not successful ... Please open the Airport Information dialog for LKPR. Then double-click in the blank area above General Info / Communication (see picture below). This will show the filename and path of the currently loaded airport-bgl file. Is the filename same as on the picture below, or is it different?
22. Hi Mark, thanks for the bgl files and many thanks to the link to this great scenery. After some investigation I could find the issues in EFB (cargo places, jetways and tower position). I sent you a email concerning the technical items yesterday. I will fix it asap, but it takes a little time since there is another item which I would like to integrate in the next upgrade 1.3.3.
23. Hi Petr, Most probably it's a matter of the "runways.txt" file. Please have a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=995 In this thread it is explained how the "runways.txt" file is used by EFB. I think that what you describe will be available in version 2.
24. Mark, since you are the developer of this scenery, would you mind to send me the required files for further investigation? You may send it to support@aivlasoft.com. Thanks. I must have a look into the source code files. It's quite a long time ago when I wrote this code, but I'm sure that I do not interpret the name somehow.
25. Hi Jack, thanks for the good news. When I did some research today I also stumbled over this KB article but I didn't want to recommend it since you wrote that you have Win 7 and the article is for XP, Server 2003 and Vista. Anyway, I'm glad to know that everything now works.
