1. Electronic Flight Bag is available at a 20% discount for the month of November. EDIT: Due to popular demand we decided to prolong the discount for some further weeks until Christmas. The discount ends at December 26th, 0900z (UTC).
2. Leon, I don't know the pilot client software from IVAO, but maybe there is a setting which determines the range of aircraft to be displayed? What means all of a sudden? What happened at that moment?
3. Salut Jean, Thank you for your kind words. I had to play around a bit but now I think I've figured out what's the cause of the problem that you describe. Most probably you entered the value "1800" into that textbox instead of ">1800". It means "greater than" 1800 meters. If you don't add this sign, then EFB only shows airports with runway lengths of exactly 1800 meters. Obviously there are no such airports.
4. Hi Jerry, None of the .wav files is mandatory, EFB works flawless without such files. EFB only offers the functionality to play .wav files at certain situations. Since most of the users prefer to have their own files be played, EFB doesn't provide such files with the installer. You must be a registered user with IVAO to download any files from their servers. AivlaSoft cannot help you in this regard, please contact IVAO.
5. Hi Eric, thanks for the kind words on EFB 1, 3) From the operations manual, section 3, page 8: - To show/hide this menu from within FSX, press the keyboard shortcut ... Please make sure that FSX is the active window, and not EFB. The shortcuts only works if FSX is the active window. - This On-Screen menu is only available if EFB is currently displaying a chart or the flightlog. If EFB shows another module than the chart or flightlog, the on-screen function will not work. 2) I guess that this comes from loading FSX via the flight planner. Whenever you start FSX using the FSX flight planner, FSX will place the aircraft at the position of the first item in the plan. If you load a flight plan generated by EFB this is always the airport reference point (and not a gate or parking position). I suggest to start FSX "manually" where you can select the gate position. 4) Could it be that you describe the "FSX clock synchronize" situation? I'm afraid that I don't understand what exactly you mean.
6. Paul, could you please send all the logfiles from both computers to support@aivlasoft.com? They can be located as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles Thanks. BTW: The DataProvider's address (100.109.40.19) is not a "private network address" according to the Class C network definition. Is the DataProvider running in a public network?
7. Bill, ad 1) AivlaSoft doesn't recommend any of these products. As always, both products have there advantages and disadvantages. We think that each user should find out by itself which of these products suits better his/her's personal needs and requirements. ad 2) As far as I can see both companies Aerosoft and Navigraph have different navigation data providers. So in my opinion it makes not much sense to talk about differences between the two data formats since we cannot talk with the data providers itself but only they might know the facts.
8. js, just upload any image data format like jpg, png, gif etc.
9. What I additionally have figured out is as follows: There are different procedure descriptions for the "common route part" of the KLAS LUXOR2 arrival. It depends on the navdata provider: First of all I had a look at the real world navigation data description at Airnav (http://www.airnav.com/airport/KLAS). The chart depiction gives you all the information either for a pure GPS arrival or a "classic" VOR to VOR arrival using radials of certain VORs. The description of the arrival procedure is as follows: "From over LUXOR INT via BLD R-023 to BAMAA INT, thence via LAS R-066 to LAS VORTAC" The description from Navigraph is somehow a GPS arrival (from position to position): "STAR LUXOR2 FIX LUXOR 12000 SPEED 250 FIX BAMAA 8000 SPEED 210 FIX LAS" The Aerosoft description is using a "VM" path terminator which means "heading to a manual termination": "STAR LUXOR2 FIX LUXOR 12000 SPEED 250 FIX BAMAA 8000 SPEED 210 HDG 246 VECTORS"
10. Hi Bill, thanks for the detailed report. EFB 1.x doesn't offer a function to delete a waypoint which belongs to a standard procedure. EFB version 2.x will have it. Until EFB 2.x is available you can only remove the waypoint manually by editing the corresponding procedures file (KLAS.txt). When I was developing all the features around "navigation procedures" I simply wasn't aware of that such a feature is needed. I thought that a standard procedure (hence the name) could not be changed. If it were an easy task to change the source code - believe me - I would have done it already ...
11. Andreas, thanks for the feedback. Are you running a wireless network or is the FSX computer overloaded somehow?
12. Hi Sam, The update 1.3.5 fixed only one single issue with the RouteFinder website. I guess that the problem must have another cause. - Did you activate the route when your aircraft was on the ground and the engines were off? - Does it happen every time and with every route, or only with certain routes? - What AIRAC cycle have you installed on your computer?
13. Hi Alfredo, I could have a look into LELN data and I can confirm that the ILS 23 approach is not shown. This is due to the fact that the ILS for runway 23 is not available in FSX stock scenery. If you open the airport information (Blue button "LELN Approach", then "Airport Information"), select the "Landing aids" tab and you see that there is no ILS for any runway available.
14. Andreas, from the DataProviders menu you can run the "AI traffic monitor". This shows the direct output from SimConnect. Can you see the aircraft there?
15. Hi Ed, I'm back again I had a look into the database and I cannot see anything abnormal. So maybe you are using another license key? Could you please send me an email to support@aivlasoft.com containing the license key that you try to register?
16. To my ears that sounds of a windows/system problem, not an EFB problem. Did you change any system configuration, network configuration, installed or uninstalled other software programs?
17. Hi Bill, thanks for the detailed report. Please have a look at the aircraft icon on the toolbar. If it is greyed out (like on the screenshot), no connection to FSX is existing, or FSX is paused. If it is not greyed out, press it. This will activate the moving map.
18. Elemerson, I just tried to connect to the activation server and I can say that the server is up and running. No problems on this side. Anyway I would not suggest to turn off the firewall and the AV software. Usually it works when both are on. Have you changed any system configuration, router configuration since then?
19. Oliver, first of all, it's still a long way to go until version 2 will be released. Version 2 is a completely new developed product and will not be for free. Existing users of version 1.x will get a discount when they upgrade to version 2. Today neither the release date nor the retail price nor the discount is known.
20. Hi Oliver, thanks for the detailed report. You're right, it's a bug ... or better a design problem. When I was developing this part of the software (which is some years ago ) I wasn't aware of multiple landing aids for the same runway. Since development for EFB version 1.x has been freezed, I hope you can wait until version 2 comes out.
21. Mark, I think the only way to get rid of this behavior is to delete the settings file (and its backup file). The file can be located as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings\DisplayUnit_UserSettings.bin Before deleting the file, quit the DisplayUnit. After successful deletion of the file, start the DisplayUnit and verify/set the settings.
22. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. You can easily expand your EFB system by installing a DisplayUnit on a second computer within the same network. Only the DataProvider must be licensed.
23. Paul, Port 13 is used to get current date/time from a internet time server. This is due to security considerations but it is only during the trial period. I first thought that it must have to do with your router or firewall, but then I re-read your post and I saw that you sometimes can connect and sometimes not. So this is very difficult to advise what to do, especially if one is not sitting in front of your computer. Any network/router/firewall specialists here in this forum?
24. Tony, I'm afraid that the timeout cannot be increased. It's third party software ...
