  1. Hi, When I start out at the Departure airport, I see AI aircraft at the gates and parking areas, plus taxiing on runways and other areas. However, once I land at the destination airport, there are no AI aircraft showing. My A/C appears, but no others? Bill Clark
  2. Good point about making sure all the pages have AI A/C enabled. I'll try it this weekend when I fly with my friends. Thanks, Bill Clark
  3. On weekends, I fly with 4 to 5 other guys on-line in FSX doing carrier landings. While doing this, I launched EFB to see if it would track my plane as well as the other 4 aircraft I was flying with. As it turned out, EFB does show all aircraft and aircraft movement while at the departure field, however, once all the planes leave the ground, only my plane shows up and the others disappear. So I’m curious if this is a limitation of EFB, as I would think you should still see the all the planes in flight? Possibly, this is an enhancement for version 2.0 as this would make EFB a very useful tool to able to track where all the planes are. Even better, it would be great if the names or call signs of the individual pilots are displayed above each A/C symbol? Bill Clark
  4. Thanks for your quick response. I have the network solution on my own system..........so I don't know how the standalone system works. So when my friend launches the Data Provider on his FSX machine, will it automatically launch the Display module? I would think he will not want that running on the FSX machine if a copy is running on the 2nd PC (it will just eat up system resources)? If so, how do you disable the Display on the FSX machine? Bill Clark
  5. I'm helping a friend implement a networked solution for EFB. He currently has the Data Provider and Display installed on the FSX PC. What is the easiest way to move the Display Unit to a 2nd networked machine? Is it necesary to do a complete uninstall and then reinstall, or can we just install the Display Unit on the 2nd PC? Bill Clark
  6. Urs, Thanks for your quick response. I look forward to version 2.0, and I think it is important to provide this flexibility as both the Navigraph and Aerosofts NavDataPro data bases will be used by many of your customers. Recently, I chose to buy some credits from Navigraph, as I was a year out of date for the PMDG 737 and FS Commander. I was considering the NavDataPro offering, but from what I have researched, they are experiencing startup problems and there have been several revisions as a result. I have also heard that NavDataPro offers more airports than Navigraph, and as you pointed out, their format is a little different. So I have a few questions: 1) What is AivlaSoft’s recommendation, or what should be considered, as to which database is more suitable for EFB? I could probably purchase NavDataPro’s November cycle to see how it goes. I find it is not necessary to update every month. 2) Would you feel comfortable permitting me to copy and paste your response to me on the Navigraph forum, or would you prefer to communicate with them yourself about these differences? Bill
  7. Below, is a posting I made on Navigraph recently about an issue I encountered with the LUXOR2 approach into Las Vegas International (KLAS). I’ve included the description of the problem as well as a link to the entire thread. Attached is an image from EFB that depicts my issue. So my question is, how do I delete the LAS VOR from the EFB STAR so I can link the BAMAA to FLYES waypoints? See the attached image: Bill Clark http://forum.navigraph.com/forum/defaul ... sts&t=3570 Ian, Sorry, I need to clarify my question a little more clearly……I’ve done more research. First of all, I’m using your latest database with two products, PMDG 737 NGX and AivlaSoft Electronic Flight Bag. In my flight plan I’m flying from KDEN, using LUXOR2 as the STAR. I have selected RW25R and I would like to use Transition FLYES so I line up nicely with RW25R. On the PMDG FMC I’m given two transition waypoints I can choose to exit LUXOR2 STAR, and they are FLYES and BLD. I selected FLYES. However, when I go to the LEGS page, I notice that LAS still shows up (the end of the LUXOR2 STAR). In the FMC I can close up all the discontinuities, and I can eliminate the LAS waypoint and go directly from BAMAA to FLYES by using the “Line Select” feature of the FMC. No problem with the PMDG 737 NGX except that LAS still appears in LEGS page when I choose FLYES as my transition, and I have to delete it. It seems to me, LAS should not even appear at all in the FMC after selecting FLYES? In the case of the AivalaSoft EFB software, I’m not permitted to delete any parts of the STAR, so I can’t delete LAS waypoint. What happens, is that I can’t link up BAMMA with FLYES from “ARRIVAL” moving map display to the “APPROACH” moving map display. I'd post an image, but I don't know how to? Bill Clark Hi Bill, The reason LAS shows in the FMC and the EFB is that it is defined in the LUXOR2 STAR and therefore is included as such in the data from our real world provider. We can't and don't alter the data. If you feel it is not in the STAR please provide the link I mentioned. I understand you are trying to have waypoints which line you up nicely for RW25. As you state the FMC can be used to do this using line select and deleting waypoint LAS. Cheers Ian
  8. Thanks Urs, That did the trick, problem solved. I scanned thru the operating manual and found this feature described in Section 7 page 13 of 38, as I had yet to read the OP manual. I did, however, look carefully at Section 6 "Progress" assuming my answer might be there, but didn't find anything about how to activate the moving map. I don't know if many people have had this problem, but if they do, it might be worth adding to the FAQ section. I will say your installation documentation was very well done......very complete for both single and multi-PC installations. One of my sim friends demoed EFB to me recently and he has a single PC with two monitors. However, I believe the best way to go is having two PC's as it is easier to take advantage of all the features. This is a very sophisticated program with a ton of neat features.....time to read the OPs manual. I find this a very useful tool and I plan to purchase soon. Thanks Again, Bill Clark
  9. I have a hard wired network where I’m running the DisplayUnit on one PC and the DataProvider on the FSX PC. Both PC’s are running Win7 64-bit OS’s. And they are solid systems. After creating a simple flight plan and saving it, I activate it……no problems there. Everything looks as I would expect as all the charts are good When I go to the departure airport, the A/C icon I’m flying shows up on the runway as well as all the AI A/C icons scattered around the ramp and other runways. I’m running a third party traffic app (MYTrafficX 5.3). But if I move the plane in FSX by pushing the throttle to move at a medium speed down the runway, the A/C icon doesn’t move on the DisplayUnits departure airport map. However, I can cause the aircraft and AI symbols to be updated on the departure airport tarmac, if I do one of the following : 1) If I switch my view from the Departure tab to the Enroute tab, or any other tab, and then back to the Departure tab, then the A/C icon is updated to the current location, and all the A/I aircraft locations are updated as well. 2) If I place the mouse cursor on top of the DisplayUnits departure airport, with the aircraft moving in FSX straight down the runway at medium speed, I can also see the A/C icon moving if I move the mouse “scroll wheel” back and forth continuously with my finger causing the airport image to expand/contract. But when I stop moving the “scroll wheel”, the A/C icon stops moving. So it appears the DisplayUnit seems to be getting updated (by crude manual method), but not automatically as it should. It is my understanding that the A/C position is updated every second when it is working properly? Any suggestions? Bill Clark
