  1. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. The runway identifiers taken from either the Aerosoft or the Navigraph cycle 1213 are 04 and 22. I assume that these identifiers are taken from real world. Therefore they must be assigned in the file runways.txt.
  2. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. The DataProvider can only recognize FSX scenery data files. From the website you mentioned I can see that the scenery most probably is in FS2004 data format:
  3. Hi Walt, the procedure is as follows: 1) select origin and destination airport (i.e. LSZH to EDDF) 2) select cruise altitude (i.e. FL240) 3) then change to the 'Modify' page (now you will see the origin and the destination airport in the lower pane) 4) select the origin airport (LSZH) in the lower pane by clicking in the grid at line 1 (only this will allow EFB the show a list of objects in the upper pane) 5) tick the 'Fixes' option to additionally show fixes (per default only VORs, DMEs, and VORDMEs are listed) 6) now sort the list according to the bearing by clicking on the column header named 'BRG' 7) select a 'Fix' or 'VOR' or 'VORDME' or 'DME' from the upper pane according to the requested heading/bearing and distance, then press 'Insert selected waypoint' 8) now select the added waypoint (which is now line 2) to create a new list in the upper pane 9) repeat steps 7 and 8 as long as needed. Step 4 and 8 are context sensitive, which means you always have to select that waypoint which shall be the starting point for the list in the upper pane. Hope this helps.
  4. Patrick, I would rely on the chart since there the course is depicted as 251° two times and in the profile view below it's also depicted as 251°.
  5. Hi Patrick, thanks for the good words on EFB. What you describe seems to be a rounding difference (... which should not be).
  6. Hi James, - is this behavior reproducible or not? - did you activate the route when the aircraft was on the ground and the engines were off? - could you send me the route (.efbr file) that you used when it occured? (support@aivlasoft.com)
  7. John, EFB is a 32-bit application. It runs on 32-bit and 64-bit processors.
  8. Hi Mike, thanks for the kind words on EFB! Although I'm not a network specialist I like to share my best experience: - The easiest way to connect the two computers is when both computers are running Windows 7 using a so called 'home group'. - Both computers must have the same logical network address which means that the IP address on both computers must start with the same groups of digits, i.e. 192.168.1.nnn, where 'nnn' is the workstation address and must be different on both computers. If you run the DisplayUnit on a second computer, FSX can run in full screen mode. Note: The network address is depending on the so called 'Subnet mask' which determines how many groups of digits or even digits are used for the network address and how many digits are used for the workstation address. Usually on home computers the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
  9. Andre, Please do not delete these files. They are a valuable source of information if any problems occur. The files will be overwritten after a certain time. I'm not sure what you exactly mean with this. This thread will not be removed or deleted. It will remain "forever". You can answer on this thread at any time and the thread will be put at the top of the list which is sorted according to their relevance to the present.
  10. Gus, did you try both files, the .zip-file and the .7z-file? We have had several hundreds of downloads in the past few weeks. Although it might not help, but the problem seems to be beyond our server.
  11. Mark, no problems here on my side. Download rate around 900 KB/sec. I suggest to wait and try later again. Hope it helps.
  12. Andre, thanks for the logfiles. I can see several causes for problems: 1) EFB cannot download the metar file from NOAA due some unknown problem. You should verify whether you can download any other items using FTP. Can you FTP to NOAA at all? What happens if you click this link: ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001? 2) Your FSX computer (IP address 10.0.1.8) and the DisplayUnit computer (IP address 10.211.55.3) are not within the same logical network. 3) Both computers are not within a "private" network which address must start with 192.168.x.x.
  13. It seems that the zip-file is corrupt. Also the size of the file (39 bytes) seems to be an indication that the file is not OK.
  14. Hi Andre, I had a look at the files but unfortunately they don't tell me what's the cause of the problem. Are there any logfiles from EFB around? Can you describe when the error occurs? Immediately after start, or later?
  15. John, thanks for uploading the screenshot. From the error message I can only say that the problem on that computer is beyond the scope of EFB. Some of the prerequisites must be missing, or corrupted or not properly installed.
  16. John, please remove this file and try again. Let me know which error will be shown then.
  17. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. 1) Did you already run a trial period in the past (from a previous version)? 2) Can you locate the following file on the PC: VISTA/Win7 C:\Users\[user Name]\AppData\Local\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\[user Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc
  18. Hi, That's exactly what happens. Recently I was on a flight with the PMDG 737 NGX to test some features of the new EFB version 2. Since version 2 is still under development, a lot of information and also errors (aka exceptions) will be logged for further analysis. As soon as I switched on the VSD, SimConnect started to throw endless exceptions with the meaningful text "Too many requests". This explains in a very nice manner what's going on when SimConnect gets stressed. So in my opinion (and I don't say that because I'm the developer of EFB) SimConnect sometimes reaches an invisible limit where it stops to forward data like AI traffic data. Any solutions? Not really, just to try reducing the workload of SimConnect by reducing the amount of simultaneously running add-ons which are using SimConnect. Because of this problem with SimConnect, I decided to no longer use SimConnect for EFB version 2. EFB version 2 will use FSUIPC instead.
  19. thanks Joe, I just opened a thread at their forum: http://forum.navigraph.com/forum/defaul ... 629㔽
  20. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. I guess that the DataProvider's settings file is somehow corrupted. Please do the following: - if not yet done, exit the DataProvider - locate the settings file which usually is found here: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings - there are two files named "DataProvider_UserSettings.bin" and "DataProvider_UserSettings_current.bak" - remove these two files - restart the DataProvider Hope this helps.
  21. Hi Ron, this is an indication that either no FSX installation is found on that PC, or the installation is there but the registry values are somehow missing or wrong. The later can be fixed by using the TweakFS "registry utility". You will find it here http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php Hope this helps.
  22. Hi Richard, That's a value taken from the runway record in the BGL file. I guess the value is not correct. I just thought to leave it out in version 2.
  23. Hi Dave, Real world flight plans don't have an information about the gate or parking, nor about taxiways, nor about runways, nor about procedures. But if you like to save procedure information along with the flight plan then you can do that by simply tick "Write procedures" from the "Save dialog". I suggest the following sequence, where you don't have to manually load the flight plan into FSX because EFB can do it for you. (It doesn't matter whether EFB has been started already or will be started later) FSX: - Start FSX, select "Free flight" - press "Change Current Location" - select airport and gate position, press OK - press "Fly now" -> now your A/C will be moved to your requested position EFB: - if not yet started, start EFB - select/create a route - press Activate -> this will load the flight plan into the FSX flight planner and Garmin GPS system The A/C now stands at the gate and the flight plan is loaded. I think that this way the result should be what you like. Please make sure that the following two settings are selected: - DataProvider: Extras > Settings > Folders: Tick "Create FSX flight plans" - DisplayUnit: System > Settings > Miscellaneous: Tick "Create Garmin GPS flight plans"
  24. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Does EFB crash always when you try to save a flight plan or does it crash only when saving the plan for certain add-ons? Do you have a error message on the screen?
