  1. Mark, no problems here on my side. Download rate around 900 KB/sec. I suggest to wait and try later again. Hope it helps.
  2. Andre, thanks for the logfiles. I can see several causes for problems: 1) EFB cannot download the metar file from NOAA due some unknown problem. You should verify whether you can download any other items using FTP. Can you FTP to NOAA at all? What happens if you click this link: ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001? 2) Your FSX computer (IP address 10.0.1.8) and the DisplayUnit computer (IP address 10.211.55.3) are not within the same logical network. 3) Both computers are not within a "private" network which address must start with 192.168.x.x.
  3. It seems that the zip-file is corrupt. Also the size of the file (39 bytes) seems to be an indication that the file is not OK.
  4. Hi Andre, I had a look at the files but unfortunately they don't tell me what's the cause of the problem. Are there any logfiles from EFB around? Can you describe when the error occurs? Immediately after start, or later?
  5. John, thanks for uploading the screenshot. From the error message I can only say that the problem on that computer is beyond the scope of EFB. Some of the prerequisites must be missing, or corrupted or not properly installed.
  6. John, please remove this file and try again. Let me know which error will be shown then.
  7. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. 1) Did you already run a trial period in the past (from a previous version)? 2) Can you locate the following file on the PC: VISTA/Win7 C:\Users\[user Name]\AppData\Local\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\[user Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc
  8. Hi, That's exactly what happens. Recently I was on a flight with the PMDG 737 NGX to test some features of the new EFB version 2. Since version 2 is still under development, a lot of information and also errors (aka exceptions) will be logged for further analysis. As soon as I switched on the VSD, SimConnect started to throw endless exceptions with the meaningful text "Too many requests". This explains in a very nice manner what's going on when SimConnect gets stressed. So in my opinion (and I don't say that because I'm the developer of EFB) SimConnect sometimes reaches an invisible limit where it stops to forward data like AI traffic data. Any solutions? Not really, just to try reducing the workload of SimConnect by reducing the amount of simultaneously running add-ons which are using SimConnect. Because of this problem with SimConnect, I decided to no longer use SimConnect for EFB version 2. EFB version 2 will use FSUIPC instead.
  9. thanks Joe, I just opened a thread at their forum: http://forum.navigraph.com/forum/defaul ... 629㔽
  10. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. I guess that the DataProvider's settings file is somehow corrupted. Please do the following: - if not yet done, exit the DataProvider - locate the settings file which usually is found here: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings - there are two files named "DataProvider_UserSettings.bin" and "DataProvider_UserSettings_current.bak" - remove these two files - restart the DataProvider Hope this helps.
  11. Hi Ron, this is an indication that either no FSX installation is found on that PC, or the installation is there but the registry values are somehow missing or wrong. The later can be fixed by using the TweakFS "registry utility". You will find it here http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php Hope this helps.
  12. Hi Richard, That's a value taken from the runway record in the BGL file. I guess the value is not correct. I just thought to leave it out in version 2.
  13. Hi Dave, Real world flight plans don't have an information about the gate or parking, nor about taxiways, nor about runways, nor about procedures. But if you like to save procedure information along with the flight plan then you can do that by simply tick "Write procedures" from the "Save dialog". I suggest the following sequence, where you don't have to manually load the flight plan into FSX because EFB can do it for you. (It doesn't matter whether EFB has been started already or will be started later) FSX: - Start FSX, select "Free flight" - press "Change Current Location" - select airport and gate position, press OK - press "Fly now" -> now your A/C will be moved to your requested position EFB: - if not yet started, start EFB - select/create a route - press Activate -> this will load the flight plan into the FSX flight planner and Garmin GPS system The A/C now stands at the gate and the flight plan is loaded. I think that this way the result should be what you like. Please make sure that the following two settings are selected: - DataProvider: Extras > Settings > Folders: Tick "Create FSX flight plans" - DisplayUnit: System > Settings > Miscellaneous: Tick "Create Garmin GPS flight plans"
  14. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Does EFB crash always when you try to save a flight plan or does it crash only when saving the plan for certain add-ons? Do you have a error message on the screen?
  15. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Real world flight plans don't save information about gates, taxiways, departure routes etc. They only save the routing. EFB flight plans can save information about SIDs, STARs and approaches but only on users request. Usually it doesn't save this information. I suggest to start FSX without using the FSX flight planner because you can select your gate position from the drop down menu in the FSX dialog. Once the aircraft is placed at the gate, start EFB and load/activate your flight plan (like you were doing it in r/w).
  16. Edward, are you talking of the IVAO or VATSIM data update? We must distinguish between data updates from IVAO/VATSIM live data and updates from FSX data. IVAO is updated every 5 minutes (this is due to the official statement from IVAO. We are not allowed to decrease this time), VATSIM is updated every 2 minutes (also due to official statements). FSX data is updated every one second which means that also your traffic data on the ground is updated every one second. Have you activated the moving map?
  17. Edward, the refresh interval is fixed to one second. This is due to performance considerations.
  18. Nicolas, thanks for posting the event log entry. I'm afraid that the problem on your computer is beyond the scope of EFB since the report does not indicate an exception address which is from the DatapProvider. Do you have the Windows Updates activated on that computer?
  19. Andreas, to be honest, I have no idea what the cause for this can be. I assume it must me SimConnect which becomes "overloaded" in certain situations and then it starts to decreasing data distribution. But anyway, in the meantime I'm fed up with SimConnect and all the problems which come along when using this interface. After many hours of discussing pros and cons about SimConnect we decided to no longer use it in version 2. It will be replaced with FSUIPC. Currently I'm developing the new interface based on FSUIPC and it seems to be much more stable than SimConnect (although - and don't forget that - FSUIPC is also using SimConnect for certain data requests, but it seems that it makes far less use of SimConnect than the DataProvider is doing today). In other words, there will be no fix for 1.x because that were needing a complete rewrite of the 1.x DataProvider. What I can suggest is trying to reduce the amount of AI aircraft either from any online pilot client or within FSX itself.
  20. Nicolas, in such a situation the system event log will show more information. Please try to do the following items: - open "Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools" - start the "Event viewer" - once started, from the left pane select "Windows Logs", then "Application" - in the middle pane you will see a list of log entries, sorted by either level, or date/time, source ... - have a look a the column named "Source" - there you should find some entries named with something like "EFB DataProvider" or similar - Click on such an item -> the pane below (which has two registers "General" and "Details") shows more information then Please try to copy/paste the content of that window and either post it here or send it to support@aivlasoft.com. Merçi beaucoup!
  21. Hi Edward, the screenshots you provided in your post are showing two different things. The first screenshot shows a runway assignment problem at KORD. Please read the operations manual, section 2, page 3 for further instruction on how to solve this. The second screenshots indicates that you have not yet selected the right folder which contains the REX 2.0 weather files. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a folder named "MetarXML" which usually can be found in the installation path (e.g. D:\Program Files (x86)\Real Environment Xtreme Essential\MetarXML).
  22. Matthias, once you have a route activated, the progress window open automatically. At the top of this window you can select all the different flight phases or the corresponding charts respectively. If you open the Departure chart you will see a blue button on the main menu which is named with the ICAO code of that airport and below the name you can read "Departure". Press this blue button and a sub menu becomes visible. There you can select all available SIDs for that airport. For further details about these menus please read the operations manual, section 7 charts, page 20 and following. Hope this helps. Concerning the release date for version 2 I can only say what Travis already did in one of his earlier posts. Whenever EFB 2 is on final we will announce it here in this forum. So please be patient and stay tuned.
  23. Hi Matthias, That would be a too big effort to change in version 1.x. Version 2.x will become much more flexible and user friendly in this regard. But until then I suggest to select SIDs, STARs and approaches from within the chart window (not the Route Modify window). There you will see a selected procedure before you have to commit the change.
  24. Hi Matthias, what exactly do you mean with "how can I see the controllers"? - Do you mean the manned FIR/ARTCC boundaries? - Do you mean the names of the humans behind? Did you already read the operations manual, section 10 "Flying online"?
  25. Hi Paul, To my knowledge there are many videos on YouTube about EFB, but to be specific, none of them is made by AivlaSoft. Just search for "aivlasoft efb" and you will get a list of some videos (most of them are in English, a few are in German).
