1. Hi Pietro, could you please send me all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? You can find the files at "C:\Users\pedro\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles"
2. Hi Pietro, thanks for your reply. You must install the AIRAC cycle for EFB. If you have a look at the website from Navigraph, you will see a list of all available cycle-types. Almost every add-on has its own installer. Now I have installed the "good old" 1101 Airac cycle to see what happens when I select LIML as the departure airport. First what I got is the following warning message: Did you see this message too? On the DataProviders window there are also a lot of warning messages ... I think that this is the reason why you cannot select a departure procedure for LIML. Please read the operations manual, section 2, page 3 and following. There it is explained in detail how to proceed whenever this kind of warning is shown. Hope it helps.
3. Hi Willow, That's up to you. If you want to use up-to-date navigation data when you fly then you should update the Navigraph data. If that's not so important to you, then you may go with the included 1101 cycle. Just run the Navigraph installer on the computer where FSX and the DataProvider is installed. After the installer has finished restart the DataProvider.
4. Hi Pietro, - do you run the latest software version 1.3.6 of both components (DataProvider and DisplayUnit)? - which navdata provider do you use? Aerosoft or Navigraph? - which AIRAC cycle have you installed on your computer? - do you have a third party add-on scenery or are you using the stock scenery? - maybe you can provide a screenshot from the procedure selection dialog?
5. Hi, maybe this helps: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1211 As per the forum rules please sign your posts with your real first name. Thank you!
6. Hi Bill, I must say that I have never used the Multiplayer feature yet, so I'm afraid that I cannot say how is EFB 's behavior in this regard. But what you can do is to open the "AI aircraft monitor" from the DataProviders "Data" menu. This at least will show the outcome of SimConnect concerning other traffic. If you see the other guys there, then they should also be shown on the DisplayUnit. If they are not listed in the monitor I guess that SimConnect doesn't provide this information. Please let me know your findings.
7. Firas, I cannot support the installation of "The eye". This is software from IVAO, but once you have successfully installed IvAe "The eye" you must open the EFB settings and point to the "data" folder of IvAe. This way EFB can read the files from that folder.
8. Thanks Firas for the feedback. I'm glad that you have sorted out the problem.
9. Hi Firas, I'm pretty sure the key works but I guess that somewhere else is a problem that we will figure out. Could you please send me a screenshot where I can see how the screen looks BEFORE you press the button "Install License" and then a second screenshot where I can see the error message which appears AFTER you have pressed the button. Thank you.
10. Hi Graeme, Do you mean that you couldn't switch/change the view in the NGX cockpit down to the center pedestal to select the frequencies, or do you mean that you couldn't set these frequencies through EFB? EFB can only set the COM1 and COM2 frequencies by a right click on the frequency which appears at the top of the chart.
11. Curt, If you have a look at the directory "SIDSTARS" from your navigation data provider (either Navigraph or Aerosoft) you will find all airports which have any procedures available. If I open the file "GCHI.txt" (from Navigraph and Aerosoft) I can see that there is no departure route for runway 34 available. Therefore this runway is not listed in EFB for selecting a departure route.
12. Jean, can you please send me your runways.txt file to support@aivlasoft.com? Thanks.
13. Hi Carlos, the logfiles can be found as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles If you have a networked installation, please send the logfiles from both computers (DataProvider and DisplayUnit). Thanks.
14. Jerry, I crosschecked both navigation data providers and I can say that both Aerosoft and Navigraph provide more or less the same approaches for these 4 smaller airports in Canada (see Travis' post above). I guess that the upgrade to the latest cycle from Navigraph (which you mentioned) was not successful on your computer.
15. Hi Jerry, I must correct myself I just had a look at the latest cycle from Navigraph and it seems that they have more or less the same coverage now (most probably since 1301). This morning I had a look at the 1213/Rev. 2 cycle which has only half of the airports than 1301 and 1213/Rev. 1. In other words, no need to change if you are happy with them.
16. Hi Jerry, a quick look into the folder where the Navigraph data files are located shows that these airports are not available through Navigraph FMS data. I just compared with Aerosoft NavDataPro and I can see that there the airports CYXJ, CYZP, CYZT, CYQU are available.
17. Brenden, No. Please do not change anything in these files. The idea behind the "runways.txt" file is to provide a workaround for the fact that FSX data in the meantime is "very old" and navigation data is "up to date". Now that you have entered these two lines in the runways.txt file, the "new" identifiers appear wherever you can select a procedure. Your BGL file still contains the "old" identifier. If you would like EFB to show the "new" identifiers on the charts you can tick the following option in the DisplayUnit's settings: Charts > Ground > "Show runway identifiers from navigation data". This will only affect the identifiers on the charts. The best way to change the "old" identifiers is to update the BGL file using Scruffy Duck's free Airport Design Editor (http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk). Using that tool you can make changes persistently. Once the BGL file has been updated and the runway identifiers agree with the navigation data runway identifiers, don't forget to remove the lines from the runways.txt file since they are no longer required then. Hope this helps.
18. Hi Brenden, I think that you should add the following two lines to the runways.txt file: LOWS 16 15 LOWS 34 33 For more details about the runways.txt please see the operations manual, section 2, starting at page 3.
19. Hi Brenden, I assume you're talking of the procedure selection dialog? If the identifier of a runway is greyed out it means that no procedure is available for that runway. This might have several reasons: - your navdata provider (either Aerosoft or Navigraph) does not provide any procedures for the runway - there is at least one procedure but there is a difference between the runway identifiers in FSX and the identifier from the procedure(s). The latter can be fixed by adding some lines into the runways.txt file (for further details please see the manual, starting at page 4 in section 2), the first reason cannot be fixed unless the navdata provider is providing procedures for that runway.
20. Vu, the fixes are only shown on the map at a high zoom level. This is to avoid clutter when zooming to a too wide area. On the route modify page you must tick the option "Fixes" and also select a range for the fixes. Then select a waypoint from the list below to get a list of fixes around the selected waypoint according to the range settings. Then you can either select a fix from the list above or you can enter a name of the fix to narrow down the list.
21. Hi Karol, thanks for the link. Unfortunately I cannot download it since I'm not a member with IVAO. We are only allowed to "listen" to their official whazzup-page. Since EFB is a commercial product sometimes the rules are a bit inconvenient
22. @ Wil, according to the installation and configuration manual (section 3, page 28) you must select the data folder from "the Eye". @ Luc, it seems that the file "firs.dat" contains an invalid line which is not according to their own definitions. You can edit the file using any text editor like "notepad.exe".
23. Jean, this data is taken from the BGL file and will not be changed by EFB. It might be that the developer of the airport has mixed up the runways? Have you already asked at the Aerosoft forum?
24. Hi Vu, yes, you're right. EFB will show you the current position of your aircraft. But only if you activate the moving map. Please do not forget to activate it. It can be done by pressing the small airplane symbol on the charts toolbar. As long as the simulator is not running or is paused, the button is grayed out and cannot be pressed. It is only available when the simulator is running. Hope this helps.
