  1. Hi Sam, this feature should work whenever a route has been activated. - Did you select a departure route (SID)? - Did you (more or less) exactly overfly the last SID waypoint?
  2. Hi Owen, It depends on the callsign that is used by the controller. Currently EFB distinguishes between the endings "...CTR" and "...FSS" whereas CTR stands for domestic and FSS for oceanic. Please have a look into the file "vatsim_mappings.txt" which you can find as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData\Online\Vatsim Herein you may define additional parameters at your discretion.
  3. Hi Richard, I'm really sorry to say that, but 600 is not the recommended resolution. Please have a look at the requirements on our website (http://www.aivlasoft.com/products/index.html). There you can see the following line: Screen resolution: minimum 1024 x 768, recommended is 1280 x 1024
  4. Hi, sorry to be contradictory, but the DU and DP are always having different build numbers. So this is not the problem. @Brad, In most of all cases when the DU cannot connect, it is due to a DNS problem. The DU tries to get the IP-address from the DNS (domain name service) but obviously it gets a wrong number. a) Please check whether the TCP/IP settings on the DU are correct (Remote = ON, Computername for the DataProvider's computer). Don't enter a IP address, only the computer name. Please check whether there is a file called "hosts" on the DisplayUnit computer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_%28file%29 c) Could you please send me all the logfiles (from the DU and the DP). They can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles. Please send them to support@aivlasoft.com.
  5. Marc, version 2 will let you delete any waypoint, regardless whether it is part of a procedure or not. Holdings: Does anyone know of a official source (like ARINC 424 data) where holdings are published? If we were having such a "list" (or database, or ...) I could implement it in EFB.
  6. Owen, I'm afraid that we can't do much here since the problem seems to be somewhere in the internals of SimConnect.
  7. Hi Pierre, whenever the "disconnected" message appears, it means that either the DisplayUnit (DU) or the DataProvider (DP) didn't replied to the sender (DU or DP) of a message within a certain time. There can be several reasons for that. Most probably the DU/DP is overloaded due to weak performance of the computer. What are the specifications of the computer where the DU is running? To see the traffic around your aircraft: - DisplayUnit: Settings > Charts > Traffic > "Show AI/Multiplayer traffic" - Activate the "Moving map" - Press "TRFC" button from the chart-options
  8. Hi, please, according to the forum rules, sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. The current program version 1.3 uses a relatively tight implementation of the SimConnect interface and therefore I can't change this logic without rewriting a lot of code. For version 2.0 we will see which connections are possible and also useful.
  9. Mark, if you run FSRealtime then please uncheck the option "Synchronize UTC" in the DataProvider's settings. This way not EFB synchronizes the time between FSX and your computer instead of FSRealtime.
  10. Brad, Please check your inbox. I re-sent you the license key.
  11. Hi Marc, I will think it over for version 2.0.
  12. Glen, from my knowledge it can only be done via the flight planner.
  13. I agree, the text is somehow confusing. I will change it with SP5 (thanks Andi for the draft ). FSX has a built in functionality which can show other aircraft. These other aircraft can also be read using SimConnect, what EFB actually is doing to show any "traffic" around the current (own) aircraft position. The source of these "other" aircraft can be either a) FSX internal AI logic / Mulitplayer or aircraft "injected" by external programs like FSInn, IvAp, or SB. But at the same time it can only be one single source. As soon as the aircraft is injected by external programs, the internal AI / Multiplayer aircraft are no longer displayed instead of the external traffic. Hope this helps.
  14. No worries, EFB doens't turn off anything automatically.
  15. Hi Glen, as far as I can see it's a "feature" of FSInn. It seems that it permanently watches for any flight plan changes in that specific folder and as soon as it recognizes a change it will get the latest file that has been changed or added as the current flightplan. In my opinion it is not a bad idea but the behavior should be configurable. Does somebody knows the developers of FSInn? AFAIK they don't do any further development or maintenance?
  16. Marc, I just started EFB here and I'm getting all the traffic that is around We are currently testing SP5 which includes a fix in that area. I hope that it will address the problem on your computer. Will try to add an option in SP5.
  17. Edwin, I'm sorry but since it's an EFB there is no function to print out the flightplan. @Jack, Do you know Michal? Maybe we were more successful if someone get in touch with him who knows him?
  18. Hi Mark, to be able do reliable calculations for take-off, fuel consumption and other stuff like this, EFB must know the performance values for different aircraft types with different engine types. It is very hard to get such information. Do you know TOPCAT? (http://www.topcatsim.com/). Maybe this program already suits your needs?
  19. Hi Andy, I wasn't aware of this "rule". So many thanks for pointing me in that direction. I think that this "smells" of SP5 Gatwick scenery: To have all the parkings and gates it seems that one must use the "EGKK_AFX_UK2xTRM.bgl" file which is in the options folder after the installation has been done. Now I have learned that obviously the "EGKK_AFX_UK2xGEN.bgl" file which is in the "scenery" folder should be replaced by the "...xTRM.bgl" file. How must one change the configuration to be sure that the first mentioned file will be used? (I don't think that a simple copy/paste is the right way to do that).
  20. All bgl-files within a folder and its subfolders will be scanned as long as a scenery (path) is determined as "active". In the past I noticed so many times that add-on developers are not only using foldernames like "scenery" for active bgl-files. In the scenery file (see above) you will notice that the path F:\Flight Simulator FSX\UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme is defined as "active=true". There are no further entries in the scenery.cfg file. How shall EFB determine which bgl-files below this path are to be considered and which ones not? I suggest to the programmer to use a different folder structure so it can be determined which folders are active and which not.
  21. I downloaded the demo version (egkkXv3-fsxsetupDEMO.exe) and installed it on my computer. Here are the findings concerning the Gatwick scenery: After installation there are three files that contains airport relevant data: F:\Flight Simulator FSX\UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme\options - EGKK_AFX_UK2xGEN.bgl - EGKK_AFX_UK2xTRM.bgl F:\Flight Simulator FSX\UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme\scenery - EGKK_AFX_UK2xGEN.bgl The scenery.cfg contains 1 entry: [Area.121] Title=UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme local=F:\Flight Simulator FSX\UK2000 scenery\UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme Active=TRUE Layer=121 All airport files contain parking/gate relevant data but they don't cover the same data. You can easy check this using ADE9x editor, use "Open Airport from BGL", then select each of the files above. Because all three files are within the same layer (121 on my computer), they all have the same priority. In such a situation EFB is programmed to take the latest which in this situation is the file "...\scenery\EGKK_AFX_UK2xGEN.bgl". This file doesn't contain all the gates like seen on r/w charts. To be honest I don't know what FSX is doing but I can't imagine that it will simply combine all the data from these three files. In my opinion this would result in a pretty messy airport structure.
  22. Will have a look at this (I'm just downloading the demo version ...)
  23. Phil, these config files are used in a network environment if you want to connect to SimConnect from a computer on which FSX is not installed. Since EFB has a built-in network functionality you won't need it for EFB.
