1. Drew, it's all depending on the callsigns that are used by the controllers. I'm not sure but I assume that every controller must manually type a callsign for the FIR/ARTCC that he/she wants to control when he/she is signing in. If the given callsign doesn't exist or doesn't exactly matches the definitions in the 'servinfo.dat' file, then EFB cannot assign the controller to a certain FIR/ARTCC or airport. In such a case you won't see the frequency although it is online. So from my point of view the cause of the problem is that controllers can use callsigns that obviously are not defined/present in the definitions file.
2. Dougal, I take it seriously but I can't change the SimConnect source code.
3. Ken, just download the full installation package here: http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/Aivla ... p_v131.zip After successful installation of the above mentioned package, please apply SP5 which can be downloaded here: http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/Aivla ... P5.exe.zip If you also lost your license key, please send an email to support@aivlasoft.com.
4. Jean-Louis, FSX generates and shows AI traffic within a range of approx. 200 KM. The DataProvider is reading all the aircraft within this maximum range. Only the DisplayUnit is reducing the data if any limitation (either vertically or horizontally) is set. If you get AI traffic properly but not online traffic then it seems to be a problem at the pilot client software which is creating the aircraft from the online network stream.
5. Brad, at this location you should see a folder named 'Checklists'. Below this folder are several subfolders, named 'Abnormals', 'Arrival', 'Departure' and 'Enroute'. Can you see these folders?
6. Hi Ed, thanks for your kind words on EFB. Much appreciated. I'm currently not aware of any problems concerning sound related things. EFB is using the sound player which is provided by the .net framework (Namespace = System.Media.SoundPlayer). Did you already ask the programmer of "PVA ACARS.exe". Most probably he can tell you more since the error message points to that program.
7. ... sounds like "re-inventing the wheel" From my point of view there is another thing that I can't believe: every add-on developer (including me ) has it's own idea of the "right" flight plan format. Imagine how nice the sim-world could be if all developers were using the same data format for their flight plans. Just my two cents.
8. Willow, As far as I know, yes. I think that this is the same as on the DVD. I suggest to just (re-)install the SDK from the DVD.
9. Willow, The link you provided points to a page where the SP1A is available. If you already installed SDK SP2 from the FSX Gold edtion DVD you won't have to install any further updates. SP2 is the latest.
10. Willow, just to be sure, did you install SimConnect from the SDK SP2?
11. Iain, after the route has been activated, EFB automatically switches to the 'Progress' view. You will see a horizontal bar at the top of the charts. Select either 'Departure', 'Arrival' or 'Approach'. After pressing one of these buttons on the main menu bar the 'blue' button will change its text to either 'ICAO Depature' or 'ICAO Arrival' etc. Press this blue button to get a submenu which offers all the functions available for that certain airport. Hope this helps.
12. Willow, Thanks for your kind words. EFB doesn't show any charts from Navigraph (I assume you mean Navigraph instead of Navisoft). The charts you see in EFB are calculated and rendered based on several sources like Navigraph FMS data (for procedures) and FSX facilities data (for airports, navaids, etc.). EFB covers the entire world although not for all airports you will have Navigraph procedure data available.
13. Brad, did you already read this? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=145 If this error occurs press 'Quit' instead of 'continue'. EFB cannot resume in this situation because the cause of the problem is out of the scope of EFB.
14. Hi, could you please send a email to support@aivlasoft.com, so we have your name and your email?
15. Hi Marc, thanks for the files. This FSX flightplan doesn't contain any information about airways. The FS9 FP does. That's the reason why the airways do not appear when importing this FSX FP into EFB.
16. Brad, The way to create a route using airways goes like this: - Open "Route Setup" - Press "Select" - Enter a route description like "EHAM GORLO UL980 XAMAN L980 LOGAN EGLL" - Press "OK" The enroute chart doesn't show a frequency strip because there are no frequencies available (except you're flying online).
17. Marc, could you please send me a FSBuild flightplan, once exported as FSX plan and once exported as FS9 plan? Thanks.
18. We had a unexpected server shutdown this afternoon. Investigations are running. Sorry for any inconvenience.
19. ... and please read the operations manual, section 2, page 3 and following "Messages on the DataProvider window". There you will find detailed instructions on how to proceed whenever such a message is displayed.
20. Marc, version 2 will have auto update ability .
21. Hi Ing, welcome aboard. It is not relevant whether your aircraft is airborne or not. If you've the ground chart selected, then you will see only ground traffic, except you've selected the option "Ground chart: Show aircraft that is airborne". Then you will also see airborne traffic but in a limited range (which can also be set in the options page). On all other chart types you will see the airborne traffic but not the ground traffic. Reducing the amount of traffic visible can be achieved in the following sequence: 1) [if online] Set the maximum range in either Squawkbox, FSInn, or IvAp 2) Although the pilot client software might have higher ranges, FSX itself has a maximum range of about 100 nautical miles. EFB doesn't limit this range, it reads all what it gets. 3) On the options page you may define a filter by setting a vertical and/or horizontal range.
22. Peter, as soon as a procedure (SID, STAR, Approach) has been selected (or previously added to the route) the runway to which it belongs is shown in the header of the departure-, arrival- and approach chart (e.g. "Rwy 34: TRA1Z"). The "Modify" page from the route setup (where you can add/remove enroute waypoints) is not intended to be a graphical flight planning tool. It is used to modify an already existing flight plan. Please also read the operations manual, section 5, page 16 to 21 for details.
23. Tom, I just had a look into the activation database where I could figure out that you already had a trial period from 2010-03-07 to 2010-04-06. Therefore it is nothing wrong with the message that you see on the screen.
