1. Hi David, Something must have been changed on that system. Did you install a new software? Did you uninstall any software? Did you change any settings?
2. Bernd, I guess that the installation of Kai Tak is the cause of the problem. Could you send me the logfiles from the DataProvider (incl. scenery-update log) to support@aivlasoft.com? Thanks.
3. Hi Richard, did you already try to add it like described in the post before? From my point of view it seems to be the same situation.
4. Hi Steve, thanks for sending the logfiles. From the DataProvider's logfile I can see that every now and then FSX unexpectedly terminates with the error message: "Exception from HRESULT: 0xC000014B". It seems that in such a situation the DataProvider can no longer close the connection to FSX properly and an exception is thrown. Please read also here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=145 I'm afraid that I cannot really help since the cause of the problem is beyond EFB.
5. Brian, you're welcome! And many thanks for your feedback.
6. Hi Brian, I'm not sure but to me it seems that the problem could be due to the different network addresses. The DataProvider's address (169.254.232.87) is not a "private network address" according to the Class C network definition. The connecting DisplayUnit is using such an address which starts with 192.168.x.x. Is the DataProvider running in a public network?
7. Oh, the game is tied , one for RC4, one for EFB Have you installed some third party scenery or is it stock scenery?
8. Jerry, The rte-file format can be read by all PMDG aircraft, the B744, the MD11, the JS4100 and the 737NGX.
9. Clive, have you installed some third party scenery or is it stock scenery? Which one of the frequencies is right?
10. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Did you press the "Select" button on the route setup page? This will open the route selection dialog where you can enter the route description.
11. Mark, I did some tests with this scenery and I think that I've found the solution: Have a look into the scenery folder. There you should see a file named "egccx_AFX_UK2.bgl". Just rename it to "egccx_AFX_UK2.bgl.old" (or any other 'meaningful' name ) and rerun the scenery update from the DataProvider's menu. After the update has been done you will see the entire airport. I'm not sure whether this file is really needed, maybe the developer only forgot it to remove.
12. Hi José, EFB is mainly intended for the use of IFR flying. If you prefer to fly VFR I can recommend using the software called "Plan-G" which can be downloaded for free at: http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/planG.htm If you have added some additional VFR fields to your FSX scenery just run the DataProviders "scenery update" and these new fields should be available in EFB too. But most probably they have no IFR procedures in Navigraph.
13. Ed, Most often when the DataProvider cannot read the AFCAD file it is due to the fact that the AFCAD file is not an FSX file instead of an FS9 file. In such a situation it must be recompiled as a real FSX file. Only then it can be read by the DataProvider. Are there other users of this file around which have it already compiled?
14. Mark, EGCC_AFX_UK2xGEN.BGL is the correct file. So far this is OK. Could you please check the "runways.txt" file in your users data folder whether there are some entries for EGCC already? From my point of view there should be the following lines to tell EFB which FSX runway to use for a certain Navigraph runway. EGCC 24R 23R EGCC 06L 05L EGCC 24L 23L EGCC 06R 05R
15. Hi, it is planned that existing v1 customers will get a discount. But currently it is not defined how much the discount will be. It's still a long way to go ...
16. Mark, If you open the airport information and double click into the area left of the "close" button you will see the currently used file name for the scenery. Which bgl file does EFB use?
17. Hi Andreas, thank you for this information. Seems to be something that is computer-specific because I have a lot of such UNC-names and all of them are working. But anyway, the important thing is that it works on your computer now .
18. Andreas, the flight plan will be saved twice. Once when pressing the "OK" button on the "Save as" dialog and once when activating the plan by pressing "Activate". The first one is saved according to the flight plan name and target folder which you defined as "KSEAKSFO". This dialog is meant for an individually saving a flight plan. The second one will always be saved with the flight plan name "EFB Seattle-Tacoma Intl (KSEA) to San Francisco Intl (KSFO)". This name cannot be changed. The second one is saved as long as the DataProvider settings are set to "Save FSX flightplans". According to the settings on your computer you should have the plan saved twice in the same folder.
19. Hi Pete, thanks for your analysis and for sending me the bgl file which I could analyze in the meantime. It's like you said, each runway has two landing aids which will be read by EFB ... It has to do with the order. When a landing aid is required for a certain runway, EFB takes the first occurrence. That explains why the identifier is right (IAC) but the frequency is wrong (108.1) ... and I think that the "type" is also wrong (LOC instead of ILS/DME). It seems to me that the developers of that scenery should update this file.
20. Pete, I'm still not knowing what's the problem but on the screenshot from your "MakeRunways" I can see that the ILS identifier is IABB whereas on your screenshots from the charts it's IAC. Maybe this gives a hint? Would it be possible to send me that file "EIDW_ADEX_ADE.BGL" to support@aivlasoft.com for further investigations?
21. Hi Pete, very strange indeed. On my system with 1.3.5 installed, the correct frequency of 111.5 is shown. If you open the airport information and double click into the area left of the "close" button you see the name of the currently considered BGL file. Is that same as on my screenshot? 22. Hi, - did you also check the settings in your pilot client software (IvAp)? There must be a slider or a similar control to set the range of other aircraft. - do you see the traffic in FSX? - from the DataProvider's menu you can start the AI aircraft monitor. Are there any aircraft listed? BTW, according to the forum rules please sign your postings with your real first name. Thanks.
