  1. Edward, are you talking of the IVAO or VATSIM data update? We must distinguish between data updates from IVAO/VATSIM live data and updates from FSX data. IVAO is updated every 5 minutes (this is due to the official statement from IVAO. We are not allowed to decrease this time), VATSIM is updated every 2 minutes (also due to official statements). FSX data is updated every one second which means that also your traffic data on the ground is updated every one second. Have you activated the moving map?
  2. Edward, the refresh interval is fixed to one second. This is due to performance considerations.
  3. Nicolas, thanks for posting the event log entry. I'm afraid that the problem on your computer is beyond the scope of EFB since the report does not indicate an exception address which is from the DatapProvider. Do you have the Windows Updates activated on that computer?
  4. Andreas, to be honest, I have no idea what the cause for this can be. I assume it must me SimConnect which becomes "overloaded" in certain situations and then it starts to decreasing data distribution. But anyway, in the meantime I'm fed up with SimConnect and all the problems which come along when using this interface. After many hours of discussing pros and cons about SimConnect we decided to no longer use it in version 2. It will be replaced with FSUIPC. Currently I'm developing the new interface based on FSUIPC and it seems to be much more stable than SimConnect (although - and don't forget that - FSUIPC is also using SimConnect for certain data requests, but it seems that it makes far less use of SimConnect than the DataProvider is doing today). In other words, there will be no fix for 1.x because that were needing a complete rewrite of the 1.x DataProvider. What I can suggest is trying to reduce the amount of AI aircraft either from any online pilot client or within FSX itself.
  5. Nicolas, in such a situation the system event log will show more information. Please try to do the following items: - open "Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools" - start the "Event viewer" - once started, from the left pane select "Windows Logs", then "Application" - in the middle pane you will see a list of log entries, sorted by either level, or date/time, source ... - have a look a the column named "Source" - there you should find some entries named with something like "EFB DataProvider" or similar - Click on such an item -> the pane below (which has two registers "General" and "Details") shows more information then Please try to copy/paste the content of that window and either post it here or send it to support@aivlasoft.com. Merçi beaucoup!
  6. Hi Edward, the screenshots you provided in your post are showing two different things. The first screenshot shows a runway assignment problem at KORD. Please read the operations manual, section 2, page 3 for further instruction on how to solve this. The second screenshots indicates that you have not yet selected the right folder which contains the REX 2.0 weather files. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a folder named "MetarXML" which usually can be found in the installation path (e.g. D:\Program Files (x86)\Real Environment Xtreme Essential\MetarXML).
  7. Matthias, once you have a route activated, the progress window open automatically. At the top of this window you can select all the different flight phases or the corresponding charts respectively. If you open the Departure chart you will see a blue button on the main menu which is named with the ICAO code of that airport and below the name you can read "Departure". Press this blue button and a sub menu becomes visible. There you can select all available SIDs for that airport. For further details about these menus please read the operations manual, section 7 charts, page 20 and following. Hope this helps. Concerning the release date for version 2 I can only say what Travis already did in one of his earlier posts. Whenever EFB 2 is on final we will announce it here in this forum. So please be patient and stay tuned.
  8. Hi Matthias, That would be a too big effort to change in version 1.x. Version 2.x will become much more flexible and user friendly in this regard. But until then I suggest to select SIDs, STARs and approaches from within the chart window (not the Route Modify window). There you will see a selected procedure before you have to commit the change.
  9. Hi Matthias, what exactly do you mean with "how can I see the controllers"? - Do you mean the manned FIR/ARTCC boundaries? - Do you mean the names of the humans behind? Did you already read the operations manual, section 10 "Flying online"?
  10. Hi Paul, To my knowledge there are many videos on YouTube about EFB, but to be specific, none of them is made by AivlaSoft. Just search for "aivlasoft efb" and you will get a list of some videos (most of them are in English, a few are in German).
  11. Thomas, No, you're wrong (I'm sorry to say that ) but Android is not Windows, and the .NET framework runs only on Windows platforms.
  12. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. What exactly do you mean with "... use the shortcut for starting the display ..." since some words before you write that you have started the DisplayUnit already? The shortcuts 'BringToFront' and 'SendToBack' work only if FSX is the foreground window which has the focus. Please make sure that FSX has the focus. The other shortcuts will only work if FSX has the focus AND if EFB is currently displaying a chart or the flightlog. Please also read the operations manual, section 3, page 8.
  13. Hi Thomas, it's still a long way to go until version 2 will be released. Release date is still unpredictable, but I guess that it will take at least another 6 months. Therefore you will have a lot of time to use and enjoy version 1.x . Concerning the release date for version 2 I can only say what Travis already did in one of his earlier posts. Whenever EFB 2 is on final we will announce it here in this forum. So please be patient and stay tuned. EFB is a so called ".NET-application" which means that the Microsoft .NET-framework must be installed on every computer where you want to run EFB. In other words, on every tablet computer which is capable of running the .NET-framework, EFB will run too.
  14. Salut Jean-Louis, you cannot remove this entries, they are "hard-coded". Everyone can select what is needed .
  15. Current users may update their EFB installations by downloading and executing the AivlaSoft EFB Installer or Update 1.3.6 found here. Version 1.3.6 now supports the recently released REX Essential Plus weather data files. If you are using the new IVAO pilot client (IvAp 2.0) already, then you might be interested in this update too. A new option has been added which is used to assign the correct data field for the ground speed when displaying online traffic data. You will find it in the DisplayUnit settings, online traffic tab. There you can select whether the field "ground speed" or the field "indicated airspeed" will be used to show the ground speed. For Vatsim SB4 and for the new IvAp software you must select the IAS option. All other can select default which is "ground speed".
  16. Hi, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks. Prepar3D will only be supported with the next version of EFB. The next version (2.0) is still under development and currently it is not possible to predict a release date. Please be patient. I think that I don't understand the meaning of this question. What do you exactly mean with " ... for the proper performance of this software"?
  17. Hi Ed, yes, we received the information a few days ago and the patch will be released today.
  18. Dave, are the logfiles also empty on your computer?
  19. Andrew, I can select CYOW here with no problems (having only stock scenery), so the cause for the problem must be elsewhere. Please check the following: - DisplayUnit settings: "charts" -> "miscellaneous", is there any value entered in the text box called "Longest Runway Length"? - DataProvider: On the computer where the DataProvider is installed, please navigate to the folder where the logfiles are saved. Usually this is C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles. Could you send me all the logfiles which you can see in that folder? Send them to support@aivlasoft.com Thanks.
  20. Hi Todd, thanks for this information. If you are still flying, could you please open the "AI aircraft monitor" from the DataProviders "Data" menu and send me a screenshot where I can see the several speed values?
  21. Hi Karol, Since I'm not a member with IVAO I don't own a copy of IvAp. Therefore I don't know anything about this program. So I must forward the question to active IVAO members. Does anyone know where to get up-to-date FIR/ARTCC data files and definitions?
  22. Andreas, that means that your computer can establish an FTP connection. Could you try again from within EFB and afterwards send all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com. Thanks.
  23. Hi Karol, thanks very much for this information. Since I'm not a member with IVAO I didn't know that. EFB needs the files which describes the FIR/ARTCC boundaries and the callsign definitions which are used within a certain area. Maybe they can be obtained from IVAO?
  24. Andreas, Can you connect to NOAA via FTP at all? What happens if you click this link? ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001
  25. Leon, You should better ask the developer/publisher at simcheck on how the set the AP. EFB "only" loads a flightplan into FSX (according to the current settings).
