  1. @ all, since this early morning, the online data service is running again and all is OK now. Thanks to Travis who fixed it (although he is very busy these days)!
  2. Karol, KK362 and FI25Z are both located at a place where your aircraft should have captured the localizer already. When I was developing this part of EFB I thought that it is more important to know the distance to the DME instead of just reading a 'cryptic' name like KK362. Will change this with EFB v2.
  3. Wil, you should better ask Pete Dowson, he is the developer of FSUIPC. http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsu ... n-modules/
  4. Hi Karol, ok, so far, but I can only see that the left image (EFB) shows different waypoints than the FMC image on the right side. What does the right image show? I still cannot see the problem. Could you be more specific?
  5. Wil, I did not receive your email yet. It's like Andy explained absolutely right, EFB cannot automatically load a flight plan into any FMC of any third party aircraft.
  6. Maurice, EFB allows to connect to either P3D or FSX. You must select to which simulator you want to connect. This can be done at the DataProvider's settings, in the "simulators" tab. The selection you made there must agree with the currently running simulator. If it does not agree, the exception message that you mentioned will occur.
  7. @ all, since the online service on our server breaks down because of the IVAO changes, the VATSIM part is also not available. We're working on a solution.
  8. Hi Ray, it's very difficult to say a certain number of progress (like "we are at 80%" or similar). Too many times in the past I thought that there are only a few months left until beta tests can start. And always there came up a problem which destroyed my plans. The only thing that I can say for now is that Alpha tests will start within the next few days. Alpha means that not yet all functions are implemented. Beta means, all function are implemented. Sorry for not being more precisely.
  9. Firas, could you please be a little bit more specific? At what airport? Which procedure? Which navdata provider? Which cycle?
  10. Wil, when you run the uninstaller, it will remove all files which came with the installer, except the license file and some of the user files. If you want to be sure that no settings will "survive", just manually delete the following folder and its content: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings
  11. Maurice, when installing version 1.5.1 (full setup) the installer checks whether it can locate the FSX installation folder. If this folder is available, it will copy the navdata into the FSX folder only and it will not copy the same data into the installation folder of P3D too (this will save some space on your hard disk). If you want to use P3D as your simulator you can either select the navdata folder which is in the FSX installation folder, or you can move (or copy/paste) the files to the installation folder of P3D and then reference that folder. But since this will only duplicate the data on the hard disk, I personally vote for the first way (use the same folder). Hope this helps.
  12. @ all, Please read here, it seems to be the same problem: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1672&start=10

  16. Hi Graham, thanks for your posting. Concerning the exception I can say that this happens when SimConnect is already "gone away" and the DataProvider is trying to close the connection to it. Seems that SimConnect does not quit the connection properly and therefore the DataProvider does not know that it has already gone. I know it might be annoying but I cannot change it. Maybe I should establish a fan club for SimConnect, I really start loving it ... (sorry for the sarcasm)
  17. Hi, in your post you are talking of STAR, but your picture shows the Approach tab. What is the problem in detail, I cannot see it. BTW, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your r/w first name. Thanks.
  18. @all, sorry for not answering earlier, but - you may believe it or not - I did not get any mails from the support forum about new posts, and while I was busy programming for version 2, I forgot to check it manually. That's the truth, I'm also only human ... I just have had a closer look at this. As per now I can only say that it seems that IVAO has changed something on their servers because every now and then no files can be downloaded and an error message is provided "... too many requests". I always thought that this can happen with SimConnect only ... (ok, that was a [bad] joke). In other words, I will try to get in touch with IVAO. Hopefully they can shed some light on me ... Until then, please be patient.
  19. Hi Martyn, the exception occurred while EFB tried to close the connection to SimConnect. I assume that SimConnect already was closed due to an error and therefore EFB could no longer terminate it properly. Seems to be another SimConnect related problem. I cannot say whether it is related to your computer's specific installation or not, but it's a first time error which I have never experienced so far.
  20. Hi Paul, do you know the free "Airport Design Editor (ADE)" from Scruffy Duck? It's a very good tool to verify and display the content of BGL files. Maybe there is not more information which can be depicted by EFB? To figure out which BGL file is used by EFB just open the airport information dialog and double click into the free area left of the "Close" button. This will show you the path of the file. Have a look at this thread, the second post contains a screenshot where you can see what I mean. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1661&p=9637
  21. Hi, Search the internet for a document "BGL file structure" or similar. It's many years ago when I found it somewhere but I only have a paper copy existing. You can also download the free "Airport Design Editor (ADE)" from Scruffy Duck. It allows you to open and read all BGL files. So you can verify whether the required information is contained in a file or not. BTW, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
  22. Hi, A file called "SceneryExclude.txt" comes with the installation of EFB. It contains several known folders which can be skipped when analyzing the FSX/P3D data files. The file is located here C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData and it contains a detailed explanation inside the file. BTW, as per the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
  23. Hi Frank, it's a well known problem with the "SimConnect" interface. As soon as it gets stressed it begins to prioritize certain requests. Unfortunately traffic data is not one of the privileged calls then.
