  1. Iain, press "System" > "Aircraft editor" to open the editor. Press "New" to add a new aircraft, fill in "Manufacturer" and "Type", then the two values for the descent path. Press "Save". That's it. A new aircraft has been allocated. The aircraft is more or less only a "container" for the checklists (except the two descent angle values which are considered when EFB calculates the T/D). Hope this helps.
  2. Rich, it's definitely the way as Andy already explained. Your route from KBOS to KLAX does not contain one single enroute waypoint. The "route" only consists of the departure route "BLZZR2" followed by a 2245.8 nm long enroute part, then the ILS 07 approach with transition MERMA. Whenever you save this route using the SAVE dialog you have to decide whether the flight plan will be written with all procedure waypoints or not. If you choose "Write procedures" then your flight plan file has a size of 4 KB, if you choose to NOT write the procedures, then the flight plan size is 2 KB and contains only the origin and the destination airport.
  3. Jim, after some in-depth looking at the update 1.5.1 I cannot find any difference between it and the version before. I have also done some installs on a machine here with no significant problems so far. If you send me your license details to support@aivlasoft.com I will have a look on the server, maybe there is a trace.
  4. Hi, and welcome This is the navigation data (aka procedures, aka AIRAC cycle) database which is shipped for free with the basic installation of EFB. This is to allow a new user to use all the functionality. If you would like to subscribe to the monthly (a cycle is 28 days long) updated procedures database you either have to subscribe for the Aerosoft NavDataPro or Navigraph FMS data service. AivlaSoft itself does not offer AIRAC cycle databases. http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php? (search for "NavDataPro") http://www.navigraph.com/ There is no difference between the trial version and the licensed version. In fact there is only one version of software, the difference is the license file which is either a time limited temporary license or an unlimited fully licensed version. In other words, yes you can do it with the trial. Update is depending on the product you once will chose. For details on the update procedure of the corresponding provider (Navigraph or Aerosoft) please see the product details on their websites. Yes. Maybe this will help you, even these videos are not produced by AivlaSoft: http://www.aivlasoft.com/videos/index.html And last, but not least, according to the forum rules (see on top of each page), please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
  5. If you cannot see a difference between "option is ON" and "option is OFF", you most probably have selected the color schema "Windows basic" or "Windows classic" on your computer. Try to change it to "Windows 7" and you will see a yellow border at each option that is selected. On English systems you can change it here: Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Personalization On German systems it's here: Systemsteuerung > Darstellung und Anpassung > Anpassung
  6. Hi Peter, thanks for the detailed information and explanation. I will have a look at this for version 2.0 (maybe, if there is some bug fixing required in that area, I will it implement earlier). Note: further development for version 1.x has been stopped already a long time ago, except bug fixing.
  7. Rich, I'm not sure whether I understand what you mean. Did you save the same EFB flight plan twice as pln-file and one file is 4kb and one is only 2kb? Can you provide the original EFB flight plan (as efbr-file) and explain which two target formats you used to create these two different plans?
  8. Hi Peter, currently EFB has no such option, but it could be considered for version 2.0 which is still under development. Just to be sure that I understand what you described: - Create a flight plan using EFB and then save this flight plan as a *.pln file (FSX flight plan format) for ASN and as a *.rte file for the PMDG 777. - Import the *.pln file into ASN, import the *.rte file into the 777 FMC - ASN creates a wx(?)-file which is saved into the ...\fsx\PMDG\WX folder
  9. Markus, I'm currently in discussion with a payment service provider to offer a new and very well accepted payment solution to our customers. Stay tuned ... And, please, check your mailbox.
  10. Rich, I'm pretty sure that EFB has no explicit flight plan export module for CS (if CaptainSim is meant with CS). But you can save any EFB flight plan as an FSX flight plan using the FSX flight plan exporter which then creates a *.pln file. This file most probably can be read from CS777.
  11. Hi Jim, Thanks for this additional information. Before I can give you an answer I will have to verify what the cause could be with the update 1.5.1. On the other hand it makes me confused since just two customers who complain about it. Maybe all other have not yet installed the update
  12. Hi Ned, thanks for clarifying. I assume that on these two computers that you mention no registry entries for the installation path of FSX/P3D could be found and therefore the installer prompted a default path like "C:\Program Files (x86)". Just a guess, nothing proofed. If this were the case, just run the "FSX registry utility" from http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.phpRegistry. This will reset the entries and the installer should find it again. I'm with you and will ask Richard Stefan from Navigraph. As far as I know he is in charge for the installer.
  13. Jean-Claude, if the airplane icon (toggle moving map) is greyed out means that the DataProvider is not connected with FSX/P3D, or at least it thinks that it isn't ... It's also greyed out when FSX/P3D is paused or any dialog window is open. Please also verify the settings for the airplane symbol on the chart (DisplayUnit settings > Charts > Miscellaneous > "Aircraft symbol").
  14. Ned, I just ran the installer for the Navigraph cycle 1407 and it prompted "D:\Flight Simulator X" as the default path, which is the installation path of FSX on my computer (I selected to install FSX on the first page of the installation wizard). What do you think has changed? If I recall correct then this was the path in the past already, wasn't it?
  15. Jim, that sounds very strange. Did you do a new installation or did you change hardware on that computer? This error means that the license is not yet installed and it is also not a trial installation. Something must be messed up on that system.
  16. Hi, if the DataProvider and the AIRACs are greyed out means that the installer could not detect an installation of either FSX or P3D on the computer. If there is an installation but it could not be detected, you can run the "FSX registry utility" from http://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php
  17. Hi Matthias, which navdata provider (Aerosoft or Navigraph), and which cycle? From which runway? Maybe you could provide a screenshot?
  18. Iain, regarding the VATSIM files, you should switch them: the first line (boundaries) is the fir.dat file, the second (definitions) is the servinfo.dat file. Both organizations VATSIM and IVAO unfortunately do not have files which are always up to date and unfortunately they are also not free of some minor inconsistencies. This is what you see on the tab "Invalid definition data". It's just for information purpose to be aware of possible problems.
  19. Hi Bill, what you describe is a well known behavior of SimConnect (through which EFB connects with the flight simulator). Unfortunately it cannot be fixed as long as EFB is using SimConnect. With version 2.0 of EFB SimConnect is no longer used and then AI traffic will no more disappear. There are a lot of posts here in this forum about it. Please try to use the search function on the above right side of the page.
  20. Joe, maybe you have to read the operations manual, section 2, page 3 (and following): "Messages on the DataProvider window". Also here is a detailed explanation about the runways.txt file: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1260
  21. Hi, looks like the installation requirements are somehow not fulfilled. Maybe a .Net framework problem?
  22. Dorian, could you please send all DataProvider logfiles and the license details (date of purchase, email used for purchase) to support@aivlasoft.com? Thanks.
  23. Dorian, try to do the following: 1) run the uninstaller of EFB 2) remove the license file "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc" 3) run the FULL installer (not only the update)
  24. Hi, KSAN runway 19R has two ILS's, one is a LOC/DME (Ident IOJW), the other one is the ILS/DME with ident ISNA. EFB 1.x can only handle one ILS per runway and I guess that the LOC/DME is the first which is recognized when creating the database. In other words, what you see in EFB is the LOC/DME with a heading of 182° and - unfortunately - not the ILS/DME which has a correct heading of 195°. With EFB v2 it will be possible to handle more ILS's per runway. BTW, according to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real first name. Thanks.
