  1. Hello make sure you update both installations to the correct version, biot the data unit PC and the display unit PC. It can be a nightmare if your running different versions. I can't see where your going wrong but it will be a simple part of the process. I am not in front of my PC at home being in work so cant recall from memory exactly the process. Once setup correctky you will never have to bother with any of this again unless of course you reinstall everything but you should be fine. Wycliffe
  2. Looks like some files maybe corrupted, may I suggest an unistall redownload and reinstall. Wycliffe
  3. Thanks for the translation, I'll be able to sleep easy tonight. I was going to google translate but then saw your reply. Wycliffe
  4. I'm still having issues with this, sometimes I see aircraft most times I dont and now its happening no matter what I fly. The other evening I flew for two exams on VATSIM, out of liverpool down to Cardiff. I could see plenty of traffic inbound when I was on the grd at Liverpool, I could see them coming down the ils and landing, there tags changing to non existing as they got on the grd. I saw one go around at liverpool with his tag visible. Once I got airborne nothing, nada, zilch. Arriving at bristol number one to land with traffic inbound and on downwind legs I saw nothing again. Not until I was on the grd did I see traffic, as it should be depicted. I am terribly frustrated by this as it only seemed to appear as a fault when i got the damn PMDG. Looks like I will have to wait for v2.0 or do a complete uninstall and complete a fresh download to see if that rectifies the problem. Wycliffe
  5. I also run on a second computer, and so far all Vatsim traffic has been appearing. I'll have to hope that this continues. Jack I too run the DU on a client PC but alas the SP1 for trhe NGX has done nothing for me. It's all a bit of a mystery sometimes I see traffic close by sometimes I get just a glimpse of traffic for a minute perhaps, most of the time my EFB display is resolutley empty of VATSIM traffic. Wycliffe
  6. Owen it's not about the data macthing it's how each product reads the data. PMDg uses I dont hwat, Leved uses the dreaded xml format, I believe wilco uses a simple spreadsheet format. It's all a little bit like black magic in my opinion. Wycliffe
  7. Brad It hasnt resolved it for me, and the fix that someone figured out is not something i want to do. It seems a little hit and miss to me. Wycliffe
  8. I did a complete reinstall of the NGX and SP1 and I have no traffic on VATSIM and get CTD's. The CTD's may be related to view swapping but I dont think so. Next experiment will be to try a flight off line with just ai traffic to see what happens. Wycliffe
  9. An update just in case you havent seen any of my other posts. Whilst my sim is working fine and I have not had any ctd's, I dont see any traffic anywhere. I might see a little traffic on the ground if I am lucky but as soon as I get airborne it will all disappear. This is the simconnect issue that PMDG says is nothing to do with the development of the NGX. I beg to differ as the issue wasnt there before I bought it. Wycliffe
  10. The Provider is 1.3.1.20681. The DU is 20678. Thats your problem right there, they must both be the same version number. Wycliffe
  11. Have we heard anything from PMDG regarding this issue. Wycliffe
  12. Chris 007 dont be mislead by the Norton reference, that was the last in a long line of issues but seemed to be the final element in my case. It could well be anything else and as I say the event viewer is one helpful utility. Wycliffe
  13. HI The dll was util.dll, this is not an unusual name for a dll but this particular one was identified by event viewer as belonging to Norton Anti Virus. The undeleter that I downloaded from Snapfiles is called REVO uninstaller and is from the freeware section of snapfiles. @chris 198, I have started all my addons in all sorts of different orders but normally the best way is Active Sky evolution then click on the FSX button in ACTIVE Sky. Then EFB data provider on the FSX PC, then EFB display unit on the remote PC, then Fsinn on the remote PC. Wycliffe
  14. Hi Maybe I can help I don't know, but I will tell you my story. Since I purchased the PMDG NGX I was having nothing but CTD's. It didnt matter if I flew online, offline with EFB or without. Very frustrating, i started using the event viewer and found that a number of appcrashes where appearing, some connected with mcovr blah blah dll, (or whatever it was called) I found that dot net 4 was getting corrupted and even c++ redistrabutables where being corrupted. It took sometime to realise that different developers use different versions of the microsoft c++ redistrubutable files from 2003 upto 2010 versions and you probably require all the different versions on your machine as there is no standardisation between developers. Even with fixing all of this I was still getting CTD's and like many others seeing no traffic in EFB. The really curious thing was that this particular problem was now effecting all my aircraft and EFB. On one particular crash I checked the event viewer and it threw up a dll file as being the culprit, this particular dll belongiing to Norton anti virus. What, I haven't got that pile of rubbish on my machine, whats happening. After doing a search it transpired that I had a free 30 day version of Norton AV lurking on my PC ready and waiting to be activated. Ok lets get rid of that. I couldnt delete it, I tried using undelete, I tried using the control panel way of deleting programs, that wouldnt work, Google provided the answer, I needed a third party undeleter. I downloaded one from www.Snapfiles.com and set it to work. It found countless mentions of that damned Norton poodoo all over my registry. I couldn't believe it, I hadnt even installed the thing and it was lurking all over my machine. Ok time to get rid, the third party cleaner did the trick and got rid. Reboot, Loaded FSX EFB and the PMDG NGX and bingo, it worked, I could see traffic in EFB. I did a flight and no crash. woohoo. I have flown a lot since that day last week, long flights short flights all PMDG aircraft that I own, the lvld 767 and the Ifly 737, not a problem no ctd and efb works. Now I dont no if this tale helps but I would say use your event viewer track down every error using google and perservere in trying to fix things. One thing I found out about during all this work is a little known app inside Windows 7, type in your search bar - "reliab" without the qoutation marks you will be surprised at what pops up. Wycliffe
  15. Hi I still dont see any traffic when using the PMDG NGX, I have installed SP4 and recently did a full reinstall of the NGX in a bid to stop the CTD's I have been getting. No luck. Not sure if the same thing happens with other aircraft will check that tonight. Wycliffe
  16. Hi Urs I seem to have this problem also, I have updated EFB to SP4 and still when flying the PMDGNGX see no traffic. I will test later with another aircraft to see if the proble perists. Wycliffe
  17. Once again Urs and the team are on the ball and fix something asap. Wycliffe
  18. Bob I have only noticed the issue on my WIN7 installation, my EFB display unit is on an XP based machine. i know we are off topic but I do believe there is some correlation between Aerosoft products and .net4.0 I installed some scenery last nighht thjat I purchased and once again without doing a system reboot i found that I had random sim crashes. The sim would crash to desktop or as I call it "white out". On each occasionIhave found repairing the .net 4.0 installation has sorted the problem. It's a weird one for sure. Wycliffe
  19. Bob I would reccomend that upgrade to .net4.0, I have found of late a number of addons requiring that. Also I have noticed when installimng aerosoft products it can corrupt your .net4.0 installation causing random sim crashes. You need to repair the .net4.0 Wycliffe
  20. Seems your slightly confused, EFB will not fly your aircraft for you. There is no autohdg function that connects your plane to EFB. You can of course depict your aircraft on EFB by clicking on the little plane icon on the toolbar on the EFB display. If you deviate from the drawn flightplan in EFB you will see your aircraft depicted in EFB off the plan. I hope this makes sense. Wycliffe
  21. Glen This is where I make a complete fool of myself, only being a VATSIM controller unlike your realworld experience as an ex 747 pilot, but I will press on. My understanding of the CDF1C and the descent profile is that even with an adjustment of direct to from BRI to the ILS feather entry point you would still have time to make the 2200ft capture. The training I have had is that you would arrive at the BRI at FL80 and leave the BRI descending to 4000ft on the QNH and then further descent to 2200 at 220 knots slowing to 180knots for final approach speed on the glideslope. Regarding the procedural app, it does look tight I have to agree and was amazed when I did it myself in the PMDG 747, MD11 etc, give it a go. In the Jetstream it will be as easy as pie although my mate who flies the jetstream tells me its a case of "slow down if you want to get down". All the best Wycliffe
  22. Indeed I can, As you have both identified the CDF1C does indeed end at the CDF NDB, when I first started flying on FS and using charts a friend of mine and myself spent quite sometime agonising over how one was supposed to manage that approach to rwy 30 or indeed 12. One has to use the procedural approaches in conjunction with the STAR chart, if of course your flying offline and just relying on your wits, and not the FS ATC. Of course in the real world there is never no ATC and so even though a Pilot will have the CDF1C arrival in his FMC he will be given vectors to the ILS, which funnily enough is what happens in VATSIM remembering of course that we don't have 24/7 coverage on VATSIM. If your on your own with no ATC then you can self vector to the ILS or if your a glutton for punishment try the procedural approaches, which are jolly good fun. Rarely do pilots in the Real world at cardiff do procedural approaches but on VATSIM pilots will elect to do them, something that I enjoy doing myself and as a controller like the extra challenge of issuing instructions for a procedural approach. Wycliffe
  23. Perhaps I should read the small print a little closer. Apologies to all for raising any hopes. Indeed neither would I work for zero. Wycliffe
  24. Robert Seems like a long winded way of doing something. That said I know a lot of people like to install flightplans into FMC's rather than write them themselves. A much simpler method would be to get EFB to get your flightplan using either vatroute or the other one can't remember the name. Then simply write into the FMC, a lot more fun and a greater sense of achievement if you ask me, and a simpler process. Wycliffe
