  1. Mr Saunders beat me to it. But between us you get the picture. Wycliffe
  2. Good morning If I saw EGFF DCT and EGPF DCT in a plan I would ammend the plan and take it out. The pilot would be given his clr Clr to Glasgow BCN1A dep initial alt 600ft squawk 3601 Euroscope automatically assigns the correct SID and Initial alt with the handy plugin by Craig Phillips, UKAssistant, based on wind and runway in use. So a twr controller just doesnt need that stuff atthe begining of a flightplan. If for example after receiving their clearance the pilot reports bact to TwR, "unable to comply with SID, request vectors to BCN" The plan still would stand as BCN blah blah but now if only twr is on, the instruction would be. "after dpearture climb runway heading 3500 ft the turn right track BCN" It is now the responsibility of the pilot to get himself to his first waypoint BCN. Seemples http://www.comparethemeerkat.com will explain seemples. Any further questions just holler. Wycliffe
  3. Hi being a pesky VATSIM controller let me see if I can help. If your flying IFR basically we require a real world flight plan. The flightplans created by FSX are just not adequate enough as they dont take into account airways, generally they go from VOR to VOR. Totally useless. Now being a UK controller I will use a UK flightplan to demonstsrte exactly what I would want to see in your flight plan. Lets take one of my personal favourite flights EGFF_EGPF at FL280, using James Reynolds excellent SimSRD application here is the route from the latest airac BCN N864 WAL DCT POL N601 MARGO LANAK1A This is exactly what I would like to see submitted. this is the plan found by Routefinder BCN UN864 NITON UY98 NOKIN UY99 RIBEL UN601 MARGO Which is also perfectly acceptable. That said if you submit a plan and a controller thinks its wrong he will ask you to resubmit, if you have difficulty creating or ammending a plan most controllers will even offer to ammend it for you. Its at thispoint in efb you would need to edit the plan so that you follow exactly whats displayed on EFB. i hope that answers your question. Wycliffe
  4. Dave Merry christmas and Happy new year old chum. I understand what your getting at but if your FMC airac is uptodate it will give you all the data you need to fly the SID either manually or on autoflight. This will correspond with EFB which is essentially in its present incarnation a flight planning tool. As Travis said perhaps in the future things will be different. Wycliffe
  5. Marcus Have you tried the third party security aspect that I identified, let us know if this is a solution so it can be added to the bank of knowledge in support. Wycliffe
  6. See knew it, I searched all over the place last night couldn't find it. Wycliffe
  7. That sounds like a firewall issue or third party Anti virus software protection issue. Make sure in your AV security exceptions that EFB is one of the allowed programms. I know this sounds unlikely but it is often the simplest of things that cause problems. Just on a side note I only ever us AVG, it's free and as far as I am concerned the best Anti Virus software on the market. Wycliffe
  8. I know this is going to be really simple but I am danged if I can find it. Where does one turn on the compass rose. Wycliffe
  9. Dave I am not the best at networks mine is WIN7 to XP and caused difficulties for me. I suspect in the back of my head somewhere thatthis might be an install issue. If you still havent had any luck by the end of the weekend I'll try and help over Teamviewer. I am away from this aftrenoon until sunday. Wycliffe
  10. If you have someone on the internet who can help may i suggest Teamviewer. i use this all the time when offering support remotely. It's totally secure and also free for non commercial use. http://www.teamviewer.com Using Teamviewer islike sitting in front of someones PC. wycliffe
  11. Hi Whilst on the issue of second PC's etc and networks, one thing that always annoyed me was the two PC's, one network, two keyboards and two mice scenario. I know there is such a thing as a KV switch and for those more technically minded you can find ways around this and of course there is wideview. But I came across a piece of software a month or so back that allows you to run as many PC's as you want on a network with one keyboard and one mouse. It's called Input Director, its free and it works brilliantly. http://www.inputdirector.com/ Download and be in one keyboard one mouse heaven Wycliffe
  12. Hi all Aftre a fruitless evening (friday) trying to get my two PC's talking to each other I gave up and went to bed. Tonight after another try I decided to contacta friend of mine who has greater knowledge than I when it comnes to networks. He identified the problem and was able to get EFB working for me. It seems that whilst my WIN7 machine was talking to my XP machine, the XP machine wasn't talking to my WIn7 machine. As I say Dave sorted it out and now I have just completed a flight form EGFF to EGPF online with only one disconnect. I think the time out setting needs to be adjusted to max and then we shall see what happens. Apart from that no problems. Wycliffe
  13. Hmmm Looks like I need to run the data provider on my remote machine. Although when I installed EFB it didn't give me that option. I think I will uninstall it and try again. Wycliffe
  14. hello I have been using EFB for a few days now after using it for the free 30 days. It's an excellent package but I seem to have found a problem which I feel might be connected with the fact that I use EFB whilst flying online with VATSIM. In a 45 minute flight from Glasgow to Cardiff I had 8 EFB data provider disconnects, I would be interested to learn if anyone has the same kind of EFB database disconnects whilst flying offline. I have yet to do a flight offline with EFB. All my flying is generally done online with VATSIM. Wycliffe
