  1. Thanks for your response. Whats the best way to send the files as I can't paste them in here? Regarding running other programmes... Only FSX related - scenery, airports, that sort of thing. I turn off AV, mail etc before starting up FSX. Interestingly, these "hang ups" normally occur when in cruise when you'd think the least amount of activity was going on. This was occurring before I installed Aivlasoft, but it seems the extra memory draw might be making it happen more frequently and certainly closing EFB seems to speed up restart. Rgds Mike
  2. I have an ongoing problem of FSX hanging up during most flights. After patiently waiting for around 15mins it usually restarts and the flight continues to the next hangup. The problem seems to be memory related although I am running W7 64 bit with 4GB. Closing EFB mid flight (after a "hang-up") seems to speed up the restart. Since purchasing EFB (which is really a great add on ) - this "hanging up" is more frequent. Do you think installing the display Unit on another computer is worth trying to reduce memory demand? Mike
  3. Thanks all for your replies and particularly GG_Flyer with his long and useful response. Some of these things are difficult to pin down .. in the case of the exception error it was a complete FSX crash, not just a "hang-up" as I call it which I get quite often with REX. I'll do a few more flights and see what the result is. And, I will look at dusting off an old PC I have and that may solve the sound problem as it paused the sound too many times for me - kept checking to see if the engines had stopped! Thanks again Mike
  4. Did my first flight EGLL to EDDM and I'm impressed by what EFB offers in the one package. It removes the need to switch between other add-ons. The two problems I had was the sound kept cutting out but FSX kept going (silently) until I mouse clicked in the FSX screen. this probably happened around thirty times during the flight. And on finals the HRESULT: 0xC00014B occurred crashing the program saying it was "RequestingTimerTriggeredData:Exception from HRESULT:0xC000014B If I can find out ways to fix those problems it will be great Mike
  5. Well, the same has happened as "Yorkshire" - it just started to work - and I can now add aircraft and move on. thanks for your help Mike
  6. Yes, my problem is by not being able to select an aircraft I can't get out of the configuration setup mode to actually get to the "route Setup" mode. There must be a reason why it just popped up for "Yorkshire" ?? Mike
  7. wanting to trial the DEMO version and everything has loaded up as per the installation guide. But, when running the display unit I am unable to get any aircraft to appear in the drop down list. Adding "new" doesn't help either. So am unable to proceed with setup completion. Hve tried the two suggestions from earlier posts but nothing helps. Running Windows 7 - 64Bit with Net Framework version 4 suggestions? Mike
