  1. The navigraph installers should know exactly where to install the Aivlasoft navdata, you just run the Aivlasoft specific download, there is no option to choose where to install them as far as I remember.
  2. PMDG specifically block SIDS and STARS from being imported to their recent aircraft because it is not realistic and because it was causing problems with stability.
  3. If Skyvector had a way to link to FS and display your current position on the map it would be Nirvana for VFR pilots, hows about that as a project for someone
  4. Hi Walt, It means your EFB saved flight plan is no longer valid as some of the waypoints/fixes that are in it are no longer in the AIRAC version you are now using. The data changes month by month otherwise we wouldn't have to update it in the first place, in your case the saved flight in no longer of any use, you will have to create it again with the navdata version you are now using.
  5. Deleting helpful posts like this is not a good idea, other people can learn from our mistakes, learning/communicating is the prime purpose of forums.
  6. Look closer in the third screen shot in your last post above, the airways are listed in the 2nd from right column, labelled Airway!
  7. In my opinion EFB's are not flight planners although you can to a certain degree plan a flight with it in some detail, personally I think other programs and web portals do a better more detailed job of the actual planning process. EFB's are meant to display the route, aid situational awareness and help you to choose SIDS and STARs more easily while actually in the cockpit, they are not really meant for use in the dispatch office.
  8. I know nothing about FSC but EFB will be able to read an FSX formatted flight plan (*.pln). I use PFPX myself and I just copy the ATS routing format exactly as you can see it in the red box in the above image, I just add EGCC and RJBB manually to the beginning and end of the route so EFB knows what the airports are.
  9. Build your flight plan externally to EFB then import it at the page shown below by pasting it to the red box shown.
  10. That is the wrong place, did you not see the picture in my previous post? I said do NOT paste the route there. Press the SELECT button shown in both of our pictures, then in the window that opens paste your route in the white box that says "Enter Route Description Here" right above it.
  11. Dont paste your route to the box where the big red x is in the below image, you need to paste it to the box that says Enter Route Description Here that appears when you press the Select button shown by the red tick in the below image.
  12. I use the NGX with ASN and EFB over wireless, so its certainly not a best case scenario, but I never have disconnections in EFB, just traffic disappearing on the map once in a while. To be honest since switching from AS2012 to using ASN the situation has actually improved a lot, traffic hardly ever disappears for me now.
  13. Wireless connections aren't as reliable as you might think, something as simple as your central heating boiler turning on or your refrigerator turning on can cause temporary drop outs of the connection. My central heating does this quite regularly, the connection is usually back up again within a few seconds. But yes Simconnect can very easily become saturated when many addons are using it at the same time and it will stop responding in a timely manner causing these problems too.
  14. The new plan is announced through Simconnect I believe. FS does disable ATC interaction when the radio is turned off or if there is no power through the avionics system, so I wouldn't be totally surprised if FS stopped it working in a cold and dark situation, I must admit that I don't believe that is what is going on here though. I've never tested that though in the NGX as the average 737 pilot may only have to go through a complete cold and dark setup probably twice a year.
  15. You need to change the permissions in the Share options on the FSX PC for the FSX root folder, you need to allow everyone full control. It's not working now because your laptop most likely isn't able to write anything to the PMDG folder inside the FSX folder. Try copying a text file from your laptop to that folder on the FS PC, I suspect it wont let you. Once you have changed the share permissions to Everyone you should be OK then.
  16. No you don't need to be in a default aircraft, nor do you need the GPS installed, you might be onto something in a cold and dark state though, I've never tried that.
  17. Which ever Navdata you last installed stays working indefinitely, it may not be accurate as more time passes but it will never stop working.
  18. It's somewhere like this, replace USERNAME with your windows login username. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASNFSX\Weather\current_wx_snapshot.txt
  19. It couldn't see P3D 1.4 and that is unchanged with V2 as far as I can tell, the connected light always stays at amber. So it's a no for now unfortunately.
  20. I'm the source, I've been watching prices slowly rise over the last 6 months and I bought another retail copy as a standby a few weeks ago. It's the same every time a new OS is released, as copies of previous versions start getting more scarce, prices go up.
  21. Prices of Windows 7 are going up week by week. I'd get it now while the price is not too unreasonable even if you have no intention of using it for another 6 months. No I dont own stock in Microsoft lol.
  22. Yes because it cannot see the Aerosoft version, its unreadable to EFB 1. Its really easy to fix, just open AF2_LGSR.bgl in ADE9X (freeware) or whatever they are calling it now and simply compile it over the existing version of the AFCAD after having made a backup of it to somewhere safe.
  23. Like I said previously, probably because its in FS9 format, EFB 1 cannot read FS9 coded AFCADS.
