  1. OK here are the screen grabs directly from the iPad, you can capture screen shots just like you can in Windows, just hold the sleep and home button briefly together to capture. As you can see almost every page is perfectly readable on the iPad, the only one that is very cramped is in the last image above. 1. You cant see the zoom or full screen buttons anymore because its so cramped, it would be nice if you could customise which buttons will display, the cursor arrows aren't really needed on a touch screen, you just click with your finger where you want to centre the screen on. 2. One button or short-cut key we could do with is to toggle the FIS display on and off, sometimes it can get in the way when using EFB with an iPad. 3. Toggle the status bar on and off in the options, every pixel counts on the iPad. I must say I'm very impressed with the 1.2 update to EFB, I've been using if far more since the update came out, so thanks. EDIT: Just had a thought why not have a hidden toggle for the FIS display, something simple like clicking somewhere in the clock box in the top left hand corner of the screen
  2. I wouldn't buy an iPad just to use it with something like EFB, it's ok if you already have one as it's relatively cheap to make it work with EFB. You would be much better off buying a 22 inch touchscreen monitor. I'll try and get some screen grabs tomorrow.
  3. Hi guys just a quick update on this thread. Air Display does work quite well but with a few provisos. You have to start FSX first otherwise it throws up an error, it says that the graphics card is not supported. This happens because direct X is disabled by Air Display, so starting FSX first gets around this problem and Air Display continues to function normally once you launch it . This causes one major problem though, it stops you from dragging the gauges from FSX to the Air Display screen. Other Windows applications and EFB work amazingly well though, the iPad screen is a little on the small size but it's better than trying to use small net book. Maxi Vista was a complete waste of time though, every time you dragged an application to the screen and it would crash, well not every time but quite often, so avoid it at all costs because it doesn't have a touchscreen facility either unlike air display.
  4. The above file is the correct one, Ive been on the Hifi beta team for a couple of years now
  5. In Windows 7 (and Vista should be the same) you need to point to; C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASE\Weather\current_wx_snapshot.txt
  6. Please try removing all reference to PANC from the runways.txt file, the entries in that file are only needed if you are using the default airports with updated Navigraph data. If you are using an add-on airport which has the correct runway assignments in the AFCAD then you don't need these entries in the runways.txt file. Remember to run a database rebuild once a new add-on airport is installed, then check to make sure there is no mention of the add-on airport in the runways.txt file, that's if you know the correct runway numbers are already assigned in the AFCAD.
  7. Ah you are kidding me, I bought Maxivista last night while I was in bed with my iPad but it has no touch screen facility it just extends the desktop to a second display for iPad. I had read many places that Air Display was a Mac only program, this now no longer appears to be the case, I can't believe I've wasted £5.99 and not even run Maxivista yet, lol. Thanks for the tip though Rob.
  8. Hi Travis, You are most welcome to the kind words, a little kindness goes a long way in the support world, it certainly stops me from wanting to hit my head against the wall after answering the same question for the 15th time, lol. I make a habit if hitting the reset buttons after plugging in the VRI devices to make sure things are fully initialised, but that's just me. It's not that often that a button or detent gets stuck on the M-panel but when it does it still makes me think WTF every now and again, hehe.
  9. OK Urs that's fine by me, I thought I was doing something wrong, I don't mind waiting for the new parser for FSC. I presume even if I select in FSC to output in FS2004 format it will still add this extra incompatible data and the same is true for FSX format files? Thanks for the quick reply by the way, that's the kind of support I like to see and it is much appreciated.
  10. Hi I've just updated to 1.2 with the accumulative update pack and I'm not able to open any flight plans at all be it FS2004 or FSX format. The only plans I can open are the ones I'd previous saved with EFB. I think most of these plans that wont work were made with FSC8.6, if I try to open them using the FS2004 option it says that "the input string was not correct". If I try FSX format it says "is not a valid XML-file".
  11. Hi Ian, Just remove all mention of EGCC from the runways.txt file and all should work fine then, that's what I did and I have the same UK2000 scenery packages as you.
  12. Well add me to the list Id love to be able to use this product with the iPad, it's almost what the iPad was made for, lol.
  13. Get the Flight1 registry repair tool from Flight1, it's free and it will help you fix the registry properly. I think the problem is likely due to the fact that the registry is very different in 64bit versions of Windows 7.
  14. Thanks for that, did what was suggested in that thread and now I can select SIDS OK thanks.
  15. Yes the rebuild is working without any error message anymore, but I'm still unable to use SIDS and Approaches. I'll take a look at the other thread, thanks.
  16. Well I removed a couple of entries from the scenery.cfg that seemed corrupt and also fixed another that it may not have liked, So I've fixed the error message on rebuild of the database, but....I still cannot select SIDS or Approaches for EGCC UK2000 Manchester Xtreme. I've even tried disabling the UK2000 version of EGCC but it makes no difference I still cannot select SIDS or Approaches for this airport, they remain greyed out. Please help, this is a show stopper for me as Manchester is my main hub of operations.
  17. Hi Urs, I rebuilt it because of the error during the first run and because of the errors I am getting at EGCC. I'll email you the logs shortly.
  18. Hi I purchased EFB last night and I'm getting the error below when rebuilding the database, should I be worried? it seems to carry on after this and it is finding some of my sceneries like MyTraffic X which are on a different drive to FSX. I do seem to be having a problem though, all SIDS are missing for EGCC and so are the Approaches, the weird thing is though I'm sure they worked yesterday when I first bought and started using this software for the first time. I've since updated the AIRAC from 1003 to 1010 and I've looked at EGCC.txt and everything seems to be there and in order, but I cant select SIDS or Approaches, weirdly STARS are OK though . So is this dumb ass user syndrome or is there something wrong Windows 7 64 Bit (UAC off), FSX Acceleration.
