  1. Hi Mark, please, could you send me a screen shot on which I can see the error message? Can you also send me the logfiles from both components? They can be found as follows: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Logfiles. Please send all the files to support@aivlasoft.com. Further questions: - What other add-ons are running at the same time? - Do you run a networked installation (DataProvider and DisplayUnit not on the same computer)
  2. Patrick, Currently EFB is designed to run only in combination with FSX. It's mandatory to have FSX installed on the computer on which the DataProvider is running. Updating only one component will not run and can furthermore lead to unwanted crashes of either the DisplayUnit or the DataProvider.
  3. Tom, I assume that the Level-D 767 FMC is capable of reading FSX flightplans? Sorry, but I'm not an owner of a LD767. Could you please send me one flight plan which can be read from the FMC and (if possible) the same route/plan created by EFB which cannot be read? So probably I can recognize the difference?
  4. Hi Tom, sounds strange ... could it be possible that you run a resolution lower than 1024 x 768? The settings screen has a size that should be entirely seen when opened (and therefore the buttons should be available). Or did you change the size of text at the Windows Control Panel? (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display).
  5. Grahame, welcome on board. The version 1.2.0 will be free for licensed customers.
  6. Hi Ray, thank you for providing this information. First I would recommend to download the latest installer (http://www.aivlasoft.com/download/AivlaSoft.Efb.Setup_v1.1.0.exe.zip) because this installer contains a newer Navigraph airac cycle (1003) than on your computer is installed. Just run the installer and you will get the 1003 cycle. Secondly I saw that a message box appears when selecting KCLT which tells me that the FSX identifiers of the runways are not matching the identifiers from the Navigraph data (Maybe this occurs only with 1003?). Did you manage the addition in the runways.txt file or does it not happen with 0911?
  7. Hi, Sorry for the inconvenience! Could you please provide us with some detailed information concerning airport name, approach name, runway name so I can try to reproduce it? Another information that might be helpful is to know what Navigraph airac cycle you have installed on your computer? As for the missing information I can tell you that EFB only can show/display the information that is available from either FSX or Navigraph. If none of them provides certain information like initial climb clearance, MDA or any other similar information, EFB unfortunately cannot present it to you. BTW: according to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real life first name. Thank you!
  8. Hi Tom, Although I got it managed on several systems, I'm not an expert in sharing files . Did you already see this article? http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/15247/complete-guide-to-networking-windows-7-with-xp-and-vista/ Maybe it might help.
  9. Hi Vic, what you describe seems to be the well known problem that something happens which causes SimConnect to throw an exception and then most of all add-ons which are using SimConnect suffer because of that. If the problem persists I can only tell you to not start fspassengers.
  10. Thomas, When the DisplayUnit is starting it reads a lot of data from the shared folder. On wireless networks this may take a lot of time. This is due to the "low" performance of wireless networks. I recommend to go back to "stone age" and connect the two computers by cable.
  11. Ingo, What can I say? Nothing. My hands are tied. I know that the problem is not only due to EFB, it is in combination with some other circumstances, but they are unknown to me, unfortunately. SimConnect is throwing an exception, but this exception is not documented (...). SimConnect is used by many other add-ons and some of them also have their problems. No one will maintain the code of SimConnect and therefore we will have to live with that. Fact. It's a sad story and I would have liked to be able to change it.
  12. Oyvind, may I ask you what display language is set on your XP computer and what OS language do you run? I'm asking this because I'm using a built-in functionality from .net which tells me the characters that are not allowed to be used in a folder or file names. I assume that this function returns different values according to the current language settings. Are you running the latest version 1.1.0.23866? According to my code there shouldn't be a folder on the desktop called "AivlaSoft"
  13. bonjour Jean-Louis, Due to the fact that a waypoint cannot be defined twice in a route (one after the other), EFB keeps the entire enroute part and drops the last waypoint from a SID (or the first from a STAR respectively) if they are identical. There is no "instead" ... The route you describe starts with LEKKO as the first enroute waypoint. LEKKO is also the last waypoint from "LEKO1S" (hence the name of the procedure). If this SID is added to the route then LEKKO is dropped from the SID to keep LEKKO as the first enroute waypoint as described above. EFB will never add/remove any waypoints from the enroute part automatically.
  14. Bon soir Jean-Louis, I just wanted to know whether it is a default FSX aircraft or an add-on. In certrain circumstances this information is good to know
  15. Felice52, according to the forum rules, please sign your posts with your real-life first name. Thx. The "runways.txt" file comes with the installer and is placed into the folder C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData. If you cannot find the file at this place it must be moved away to another location? Did you probably change the path of the user data folder as described in the manual? Maybe you run the installer again so that all the folders and files are installed at their places again?
  16. Salut Jean-Louis, can you please send me the complete route (*.efbr) on which this behavior occurs? I would like to see whether it is reproducible on my system. What aircraft do you fly? Thanks very much.
  17. solved. It was a typo in the file "runways.txt"
  18. Jean-Louis, you can't change this behavior, it's "hard-coded". EFB checks the position of the aircraft every one second and if the position is within a range of approx. 2.5 miles from a waypoint then this waypoint changes to "passed". If an enroute waypoint is too close to a waypoint from the departure section, or the position of the aircraft comes too close to an enroute waypoint it may happen that then the software assumes that you are already flying the enroute part of the route.
  19. Hi, just beside the drop down box you will see a button 'create new ...'. Press this button to first create your aircraft. After the aircraft has been created you'll get back, then select the aircraft from the drop down box. BTW: According to the forum rules (see top of each page), please sign your posts with your real life first name. Thanks.
  20. Hello Jean-Louis, can you please send me your runways.txt file to support@aivlasoft.com? Please do not open it before with any text editor. I just want to have a look whether EFB reads some "noise" out of this file.
  21. Tom, pressing the "Save" button saves the current flight plan as a *.efbr file (which is an EFB internal binary format). This flight plan is saved in the "..\routes" directory below your "EFB user data" folder. Pressing "Activate" will create an FSX flight plan which then is being loaded into FSX and the Garmin GPS system (if the corresponding options are selected). If you want to use this FSX flight plan in your MD80, then open the folder "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files", search for the file with a name according to the currently activated flight plan and copy/rename it to "AAAA-BBBB-1".
  22. Jean-Louis, I just copied and pasted the two lines from your post into the runways.txt file on my system, then reloaded the airport and everything is fine here. Where on the EFB DisplayUnit did you see this?
  23. Tom, I assume that you talk about an FSX-flightplan that can be read by the CoolSky MD80? EFB creates FSX flight plans whenever the butten "Activate" has been pressed. The filename given to such a plan consists of parts of the origin and departure airport information. If this name is not acceptable for the MD80 you have to manually rename the file using the Windows Explorer.
  24. Dave, I will add a new option where one may select the refresh interval for the drawing of the charts. Maybe I add one option per chart type so you can set this individually. I guess, that increasing the values for the timeout would just lead into other problems. If the DataProvider has to wait more than 10 seconds until it gets back a simple "ack" from the DisplayUnit then you most probably have a problem either with the network or the performance of the DisplayUnit computer. Normally the "ack" is being sent back within some milliseconds. So under normal operations this parameter can be neglected. It is more or less implemented as a fallback if the network cable is being unplugged in a uncontrolled or unwanted manner. Then the DataProvider will terminate the connection to the lost DisplayUnit.
