The first post on this thread announcing v2 progress was 18 months ago. Whilst I dislike hassling Urs about progress it is frustrating to be told a new version is in the pipeline but with no indication of how close to completion it is. I'm perfectly happy with the existing version with one exception - disappearance of Ai during the course of a flight. If it wasn't for this problem I really wouldn't be that concerned about a new release as the current one gives me all I need. Is there no way this Ai disappearance problem can be rectified? It's a SimConnect 'bug' apparently but I have also been told by a knowledgeable person that it isn't. Some progress news would be appreciated please.

Hi Urs, Something does follow runway selection though. The first waypoint. Although not 'connected' to the runway directly via a SID it seems logical to tell EFB which runway I will be using. One obvious advantage for some will be the green box indicating the direction to taxi. Maybe others have a view on this but I accept it's not a big issue.

Is it right that no runway can be selected when there are no SIDs for a particular airport? EGAA - George Best, Belfast has no SIDs and because of this I'm prevented from choosing the departure runway. Doesn't seem right.

I've finally cracked this problem. Before I bought LIEO from Aerosoft I used a freeware version and EFB advised of a runway problem so I put two entries in runways.txt changing them to 05/23 from 06/24 After installing the Aerosoft version I couldn't get the SIDs and STARs to show. Turns out deleting those two entries in runways.txt sorted the problem.

I have now installed Navigraph 1502 but I still have problems with LIEO. Whilst I have a choice of many STAR procedures for both 05/23 I cannot select a runway for the approach. Select Approach is greyed out. Why?

Thanks for checking Brian. Looks like it may be a problem with the Navigraph cycle I have. I'll install 1502 in a month and that will fix it hopefully.

Bit disappointed there have been no replies. Could anyone please load EFB and choose Airports then LIEO. Choose LIEO Approach. On my setup Select Approach and Direct To are greyed out meaning I can't even choose the arrival runway. Would appreciate hearing from others if you also have this problem or even if you don't.

I'm using Navigraph Cycle 1411 and when I try to select a STAR for LIEO, Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport none are displayed. However, the STARs are available in Project Magenta's CDU Arrival option using the same cycle. Is this problem limited to my install or can others duplicate it?

I have the full version of EGCC XTreme by Gary Summons and there are no problems with runways 05L/23R and 05R/23L. I can't imagine why there would be a problem with the freeware version and not the paid one. You should ask the question on the UK2000 free airport forum here. http://www.uk2000scenery.org/forum/index.php?board=80.0 I can't see any other posts about problems with EGCC.

Don't worry Urs, I had my tongue in my cheek with that comment. But it would be appreciated if you could say when it's gone out for beta testing.

That's great Urs, thanks. Is v2 released next week or the week after? Hint, Christmas is coming and I imagine a lot of users would like to treat themselves.

Gents, When I start EFB it still shows the plan from my previous flight. I looked through the options but couldn't find one that would clear it when exiting. Can you add this option to either a future build of v1 or to v2. Thanks.

Hi Urs and Travis, EFB does scan the AES folder containing all the scenery BGLs which presumably contain jetway info. But as Travis has pointed out they are probably a diffeent format to standard BGLs so EFB doesn't recognise them. Fair enough and I'm happy to wait for v2. Who do I remind you off in UCOS Travis? Grumpy Alan Armstrong? Or is it the chap who used to play Rodney in Only Fools and Horses?

Fully understand Urs. It's only a small problem and I can live with it. You have more important things to do.

If you go into Network can you see both computers shown? There should be a large icon under 'Computer' for each computer in your network. If you can't you need to set-up a home network. There is plenty of help available in W7 and Google for doing that.

I recently bought Mega Airport Munich (FSX)which includes jetways but these are only cosmetic since CTRL+J does not get them moving. Bit naughty of a commercial package that they don't work but there you go. I bought AES credits and applied them to EDDM. Rebuilt the database but on viewing the airport none of the gates are shown in EFB to have gates. Is there a way of getting EFB to recognise all my AES jetways?

Hi Urs, Followed your instructions to the letter. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It really is a most frustrating (little) problem. There just isn't any consistency when it's closed and then reopened. I close it using the System-Switch Off option and start it again. Sometimes the FIP remains where I placed it and other times it's at top left. I'm running Windows 7 on this PC. I need to choose 'Use visual styles on windows and buttons' to show the yellow border around selected chart options but this makes the FIP window larger than if that option isn't selected. Is that a factor and is there any other way to keep the yellow boxes without the enlarged window? I don't want to take up your time on such a small problem. I can live with it as once set it stays for the duration of my flight.

Problem is definitely linked to maximised display on secondary screen. Resize it so not maximised and position is remembered. Odd.

I do use AlacrityPC to close EFB so I suppose that might be the reason although it's been fine using that method for a long time. I'll switch to manual closing and also check folder permissions although I'm pretty sure those haven't changed. Thanks.

In the last few weeks the Flight Information Panel always positions itself at top left instead of the space lower down 'reserved' for it. Despite moving it to my preferred position it will always position itself top left when EFB is next opened. How can I get it to stay where I want it? I run the display on a networked PC just in case that makes a difference.

Travis, Will do. My system is also powerful. i7 o/c to 4.4 with a 780GTX 3Gb card. FA does help with smoothness as well as increasing fps. That and Traffic Optimizer have made approaches into large airports like EGLL much more enjoyable.

Hi Travis, Since I posted that message I've delayed the starting of Traffic Optimizer and the problem has gone away. It appears to be a conflict with Fiber Accelerator - another .NET program on startup. Launching it when everything else is running is now error free, I've also deselected the option to generate the EFB_current_garmin plan so the program now reads the standard FS plan.

Recently a new utility has been made available on both P3D and FSX Forums on AvSim. It's called Traffic Optimizer and deletes the furthest Ai from your aircraft down to a predetermined limit ignoring flights from/to the departure and arrival airports. It utilises .NET and runs on the same PC as EFB's Data Provider. Its most recent version reads the flight plan stored in FSUIPC4 to get the 2 ICAOs but that is causing the Data Provider to crash with the following error... What I don't understand is the name of the plan - EFB_current_garmin.pln rather than the name I used when loading it into EFB - LEMHEGCCX.PLN Clearly this crash is undesirable and I'd like it to be fixed. But the author of the utility tells me he reads the plan once only in read-only mode. So why is EFB unable to read it? Hope someone can help. I can provide full details of the crash on my next flight - probably tomorrow.
