    Morning Frank

All you have to do in ProATC/X is 'add' the path to the EFB 'uplink' folder in ProATC/X (options > Folder-Paths>Add)

When you click 'fly now' in ProATC/X make sure you 'untick' add SID /STAR to flight plan.

Once you have received clearance EFB will  then automatically receive the flight plan from ProATC/X

I've already tested this and it works just fine.

    Job Done.

Frank, please see your ProATC/X BETA team newsletter?

If anyone could translate this to German for Frank that would be good

    Thanks

It should be added here that the Uplink function is only available Preflight on Ground. Inflight no update of the Flightplan is possible. We are however considering this possibility for a later  Version Update.

After I posted this, I read another similar post on the subject and realized that indeed the Client was shut down while the aircraft was airborne.

    Thanks

Great to have this sorted! Enjoy EFB v2 ?!

    Urs- Everything seems normal. Ryan

Hm, I wouldn't call that "normal" when almost every folder is out of sync. Why do you install EFB v2's data structure on your cloud drive? Have you redirected your domcuments folder to the cloud? Not a good idea for time critical processes. This may or may not work. IMHO EFB v2 is not designed to work with its data structure in a cloud, but Urs will have more insight on that. In any case I'm sure that the cloud is one of the main culprits in this whole setup.

Need some help with the selection and display of company route in EFB 2 Client.

As far as I can see FPL are imported and well stored in the proper folder:

    ..

However when I start the Client and want to select a FPL, the "Create Flight Plan"  does not let me access "Company routes" resp. it is greyed out.

    ..

    Appreciate any help

    Ed

I guess this is the same isue as already discussed here: https://forum.aivlasoft.com/topic/2906-import-company-routes/  When you shutdown EFB v2 last time the A/C was airborne. Remember that EFB v2 always remembers the last position of the A/C on shutdown (no matter whether the Sim crashed or was deliberatley shut down). In this case you need to start the Simulator to reset the A/C position. Al Flightplan selection can only be done when the A/C is on ground.

Click on the power button at the lower left. This will bring up another window (where you can also shut down the app - very odd place to put preferences I would say). Click on Settings, then folders. Set the 'EFB Route' to your mapped path and life should be good

Not so odd. Please check the User Guide "Client", chapter 4 User Interface. It's called the System Menu!

ok, I was able to get TOD displayed on the client, but the miles remaining to TOD is wrong. The miles remaining are increasing as I'm getting closer to the destination. Do I still have something set wrong?

Check whether your actual cruising altitude is equal to what is displayed on the sidebar as your planned cruising altitude.. If necesssary adjust your cruise altitude with the respective button on the RSB.

    Hello,

unfortunately I entered a wrong ip address for the server pc. Now the client tries to connect (which is impossible because the ip address is wrong), and I have no chance to correct my mistake.

I deinstalled the client, but after installing again the client immediately tries on the wrong ip address. What can I do?

    Thank you

    Thomas

Open the Main Menu of the Client (Button in the lower left corner). This should be possible even if the Client tries to find an (inexistent) Server. Then click the Button below the title "Server Location". Answer the restart hint with "Yes". In the next window you should be able to change the IP address.

    Hello Oscar
have tried many things (new installation, other airport), the problem is still there:
    - I start efb2 server and client (without prepar3d)
    - the client automatically selects lszh
    - the timetable is from lsgg to lfml
    - If I select "DEP" on the left under "RSB", I can select the runway and the SID but not activate "Set FPL".
    what am I doing wrong?

Ok, thanks very much. That's now a point where we can start troubleshooting.

the first question is: do you RUN (not only install) the Server as Admin? This is one of the initial requirements for EFB v2.

  10. Ok gentlemen, maybe we should use a fresh start. Even if it sounds terrible, I would suggest that you uninstall both Server and Client, download the newest Server and Client and start a fresh database. This is a matter of a few minutes. If an error occurs, create the support files from the Window Start Menu and put it in here. There is no reason to play around with tips and trick at this stage ?.If the Database Creation Process does not run properly, then we need to have the logfiles. That's the only practicable way for troubleshooting.

Hi I am running FS9 on Vista

Most of the airports I have tried to use with EFB2 are either out of date or not availabe at all.

I have installed the server twice but no change.

I also have the port 13 problem, and have altered my Firewall settings but still happens. but I can live with this as I can run EFB2.

    dbBuilder Log File Attached.

I love this software and intend to purchase it if I can solve all problems.

    Please help

    Thanks

Be aware that Windows Vista is not supported by EFB v2. See User Guide "Installation" Para 1.2 System Requirements

Yesterday when I updated server, I had to set everything just like I did when first installing EFB , the directories for weather, reinstall Airac, settings , set Active Sky weather in Client, etc. Everytime there is another update, will everything have to be reset again?

Actually no, this should not be the case, if you do an AUTOMATIC Update. If you however do it by downloading the Installer and thus re-installing then yes, but this is not the "ordinary way". EFB v2 checks once per day for a new update and offers automatic download und update of the necessary files. This should leave the settings and such untouched. Same for the Client.

Thanks. That might clear the flight plan BUT on the map my aircraft is still at its original CTD location.

Ive just restarted everything and the Server  notes the aircraft is AIRBORNE.

On the right of the Client the sim status (yellow) is airborne.

Cant see how to reset this.

Starting the simulator and starting EFB v2 will reset the position to the startup location of the Simulator. There is no other reset possible or necessary. If a Flightplan is still active, it can be deleted/cleared by the method above. Are you telling that EFB v2 position is not reset when starting the Simulator? This would point to an abnormal situation and we would require the lofgiles after starting up both EFB and Simulator.

    2. There seems to be issues with my Scenery Scan - "EFB Scenery Scan" - https://photos.app.goo.gl/5aWgKRJLs2DhjQdL6  and "EFB Scenery Database Report" https://photos.app.goo.gl/4U8XUdxm9JyGUfsw5

    ..

    Regards,

    Dane

We have seen this issue also on other  fsAerodata Scenery Files updates. For some reasons fsAerodata duplicates a few airports. This is beyond EFB v2's scope as it is a third party change of "internal" navdata that we unfortunately have no influence on.

When I add new scenery to the sim (P3d V4.3), the EFB server detects the changes and asks if I "would like to rebuild the database", to which I reply "yes". However I have the feeling that it does not. The check configuration windows closes and the server restarts with the same widow and question about rebuilding the DB. It's in loop until I select "no" and the server starts normally. Any advice on this?

    Thanks

    Ed

After replying "Yes" the DatabaseBuilder should open and you have to select the "Update Simulator" tab to initialize the databuilding process. Do not select "Update Navdata"!

    Hi all,

I would like to suggest that we create a repository of minima txt file created by the users. I will create a bunch of them my self and I would like to share them but wondering what would be the best way upload these files so that the whole community could contribute

    Regards

    Vincent Rouleau

Yes, Vincent, this is is a good idea. We are planning a few repositories, not only for Minima files but also for AFCAD files, in case a Ground Layout is not porperly drawn. Stay tuned!?

    ....

one quick question - I really liked the feature from V1, that displayed distance to TOD. Is that available in V2? if so, how to do I display?

    ...

Yes, the Vertical  Guidance is controlled individually via each A/C's Profile. As a first thing the "Vertical Guidance" chekmark must be set on the "Options" tab. Furthermore a few conditions must be fulfilled, to be found under "Vertical Guidance" and "Profile Editor" in the Client User Guide (Chapters 8.3 and 12.2)

Experienced a CTD in P3dV4 yesterday.

The computer has been rebooted and everything reloaded for a fresh flight today but EFB2 still has me in mid-air where I crashed.

I cannot see how to reset EFB and start a fresh flight.  My P3d has me on the ground at a new aircraft - ready to go but I can't use EFB??

    Thanks.

    Dean

EFB v 2 always stores the Flightplan and the last position to allow restarting an interrupted flight (some pilots do that...?). After a CTD the same happens. Just open the Flightplan (Main Functions Button "FPL") and press the "Clear FPL" button at the bottom of the Flightplan window. This will clear the Flightplan and you can start a new one.

I've never had a previous version 2, this is the first time I've installed.  I've tried deleting the DB but it won't successfully create a database currently.

No, I'm talking about the database that gives you the error. You are working with 2.0.51, right? that's at least what you mentioned above. So - start the DatabaseBuilder, select the database shown there, delete it and start building a new database.
