    Hi Oskar

I take that back and apologise. So I assume EFB is taking SPIM from my sim, how can I get this to update to SPJC, particularly as yours is up to date.

    Thanks

    Garry

I must admit that I haven't been too specific about the data I use on my P3D V4.3 installation. I always use the updated ILS and Navdata from Hervé Sors:

http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html  Both World Navaid Package and ILS Regional Update (World). This way EFB v2 recognizes the new ILS installation and thus can assign the proper ICAO code to the Airport. Unfortunately both codes will then show up in P3D, but not in EFB v2. EFB will only recpgnize the new SPJC ICAO code. Be aware that you have to rebuild the database after updating the default BGL by Sors - or - as in Urs' post - do it the manual way.

Still don't get it. It says the price is CHF 47.92 PLUS 25% Vat = 59.90 CHF

and according to all the valkuta exchanges I have tried they say aprox Kr. 381 to 385 INCL. VAT, so do I have to add extra 25% VAT (our vat rate in DK) to the price? If I do so it says it's aprox kr 482. So yet another diffrent amount from the kr. 445.88 on the Cleverbridge page.

    No, I just don't get it. :-)

Well, this is - I must honestly admit - beyond my kowledge. Urs will have to clarify this with Cleverbridge. We only set the initial price. Everything else is done by Cleverbridge.

    Hello

Just trying to fly from SELT - SPJC (Lima). However the flightplan will not load as EFB does not recognise SPJC. The previous name of this airport is SPIM, this is recognised. Anything I can do to rectify this? I have tried with both the provided Navigraph database and also with the latest Navdata Pro database, both have the same results.

    Thanks

    Garry

    Hi Garry,

What simulator do you use? I can see SPJC as default airport in P3D V4.3 and it shows correctly on the Ground Map. It does however not recognize SPIM anymore. This is dependent on the default data of your simulator. The only way to overcome this is to build a simple airport BGL File (or have it built by someone) in ADE (Airport Design Editor).

The price for EFB v2 is CHF 59.90 right?

When I go to the purchase screen it convert the price to my local currency (Denmark/Danish kr) and it says kr 445.88

However if I use the latest valuta from different valuta exchanges, they all say that CHF 59.90 is aprox kr.381 - kr. 383

So why the difference of aprox kr. 60 - 63  more when I HAVE to buy it through Cleverbridge?

Will it be possible to buy it through Simmarket instead?

    Regards J. Lundtoft

Be sure you compare the prices including VAT...

    Hello,

after several tries (default\custom  installation path, with\without firewall),

now I am at the end of my wisdom:

after the first start of 'AivlaSoft.Efb.Server.exe', I insert name, email (license key blank)

I push 'Install DEMO' - then window 'Database builder will start now' - Push button OK ...

    there appears a warning:

trying to verify demo license but could not reach any time server on the internet.........

    ...license not found...

tried with another email address from me and it sometimes succeeds to start the 'server',

but everytime I restart the server I have to put in my license info (demo) again !?

Will this also happen if I by a license key ?

Why is the demo-license dependent on the name or email ?

    every help is mentioned

    greetings

    gerolamo

No, it simply means that the time server cannot be reached by your computer. The most probable reason for that is port 13 not being open for communication. Continuous communication with the internet is only required for the trial license. For the purchased license Internet Access is only required for initial registration of the license.

  6. Basically there are two ways to use routings created in PFPX:

1). A routing stored in .efbr Format in the \Routes path. This uses the normal Export-Function of PFPX. It is decribed in the Flightplan User Guide under "2.1 Load an existing Flightplan"

2). Direct upload of an PFPX OFP into the \Upload path. This uses the PFPX "save in txt Format" function for an OFp. This is described in the Flightplan User Guide under "2.3 Flightplan via Uplink". Please also observe the conditions for its use. Routes using the \Upload Function are NOT stored in the EFB \Routes directory.

I still cant purchase aivlasoft efb v2 it still says coming soon

You might need to reset your browers cache inorder to show the present content. My guess is that you looked several times into the EFB Website in the past, thus storing the old web content in your browser's cache.

No I clicked save disc icon as per manual then it saved it as a text as per picture above.

No, that's not as described in the manual. To use a Route (Flightplan) you need to export it (PFPX export route) in *.efbr format into the \route directory. Then it will show up in the "Create flight plan" menu

If you want to use the Text-File Flight Plan for direct upload (which is completely different to STORING a routing in *.efbr formatl), you need to copy the file into the \upload directory of EFB v2. Please also check the conditions to use the upload function. See also FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) in this forum.

I can't seme to get a route made in PFPX to show in EFBV2 company routes folder.

    ...

I hit save in PFPX then saved it under the client/routes folder as per the manual. However, the flight plan still does not show in the company route folder in EFB2. Any ideas?

Did you use the proper fileformat in PFPX (the old EFB v1 format) for saving the route?

Did you check in "Settings/Global" that you actually have selected "ActiveSky" as your weather engine?

    Thank you Oskar,

I re-ran everything without MalwareBytes or Defender running and behavior is not different.

Thank you for working with me and perhaps Urs can make it better.

    Jeff

Ok, thanks for info. Gotta get some sleep now after this "night shift" ? I'm sure Urs will be around soon to take over to solve the problems.

    Hello Oskar,

Thank you.  I understand.  Perhaps both the OP and I are experiencing the same problem?

    Thank you,

    Jeff

Yes. possible. In any case Windows Defender is not responsible for that as I use it here too. Could you possibly create an exception for the "comservices.bin"  file in your malwarebytes application to check? It is very strange that this file should disappear "just like this". So far I have never seen happening this and when I recreate my database I don't see any problems with that file either.

In any case we will have to wait for Urs to "come alive" here. He has more insight as to when exactly the file is created and under what conditions.

    Hello Oskar,

Thank you.  I have already done this a few times earlier based on your reply to another user.  Thus, regardless of whether I have it installed in Program Files, or elsewhere, the behavior is the same.

It is the problem reported by the OP (error messages look identical save for language localization).

    Thank you,

    Jeff

Yes, I see the messages being identical, however this "comservices.bin" file is created within the database building process. Therefore it is hardly believeable that it simply "disappears"...?

  14. Oh, and just another thought: wnat kind of AV software do you use? Could it be that the AV software deletes this "comservice.bin" upon creation? It wouldn't be the first time that AV software play havoc with binary files (not only in EFB) by deleting it without any warning.

    Hello,

    Windows 10 and Prepar3d 4.3

    ....

    Jeff

Ok I see. Thanks, Jeff, for the info. Could you do me a favour and de- and reinstall EFB v2 to its default path and check and report again? Should be a matter of a few minutes. Although we have also checked remote installs I would like to make sure where this strange behaviour stems from.

  16. 22 minutes ago, ahuimanu said:

comservices.bin is not installed in D:\jeff\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Server\DbBuilder\Base

This is where this chokes each time.  EFB2 unusable at the moment.

EFB is not installed in the default path.

    Thank you,

    Jeff

Very strange. I just deleted my database and let EFB v2 rebuild the new database from scratch. I don't see any such behaviour.

What Simulator and OS are you running?

  17. Yes, reboot your computer. Unfortunately this is something we are not yet fully aware where it stems from. We have seen it in very rare cases and in any case it could be overcome by rebooting the computer. Please create a Support File from the Windows Start Menu (the livesaver icon under AivlaSoft) and post it here.

  18. STOP STOP STOP !

Please make sure that you follow EXACTLY the procedures laid down in the Installation- and Quickstart Guide. More thorough information about the database building process can also be found in the Database guide.

Please do also not do anything that is not explicitly recommended by AivlaSoft to avoid initial errors. We have checked the installers many time before release and we did not encounter any of the reported errors. We will have to analyse the reports to see what exactly caused these reports.

Furthermore we would like to remind you to our Forum Rules, where it is mandatory to sign your posts with your (at least first) real name.

Please also state in your reports the Simulator(s) used and whether EFB v2 is installed in the default path.

We will do our best to solve the encountered problems but we will of course also require as much information about your installation.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi Ryan,

Is this screenshot from the first run to create the database after initial Installation? Are you sure you followe EXACTLY the procecures laid down in the various User Guides? I see that you are in the "Update Simulator" tab. When creating a database for the first time you should be in the "Create/Select Database" tab.

Was not expecting an answer straight away Oskar. All good now though using airac 1807. I did not have the addon.xml error though, but would be a good idea for the OP to download Lorby's  xml app and that will check for errors.

Be careful with any add-ons that manipulate the scenery_add-ons.xml and scenery.cfg. We still recommend to use the standard installation method using Lockheed Martin's package system.

Addons like Lorby's Organizer or SceneryConfigEditor may work the way it is intended, however be advised that whenever they edit one of the mentioned files, EFB v2 will ask you to rebuild the database.

  21. Gentlemen, you certainly understand that we cannot provide a 24-hours service ?. It's now 2:56 AM here in Switzerland. You will have to wait for Urs to come online on Sunday, July 1st,  to provide assistance for these errors in database building.

As far as the reported Warning messages about missing "Add-on.xml" files are concerned, there seems to be a problem within the installation of add-ons into P3D V4's package system. This is beyond EFB v2 influence. An improper (or manually changed) installation can cause havoc if not strictly adhered to the rules outlined by Lockheed Martin's SDK

http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/sdk/add-ons/add-on_packages.html.  Neverhteless EFB v2's functions are not affected. The respective airport ground map will simply show the default layout.
