Vic,
could you please send me the file "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings\DisplayUnit_UserSettings.bin" to support@aivlasoft.com. Thx.
-
Todd,
have you had a look at the "AI aircraft monitor" when that happened? It would be interested which values the monitor is showing. The monitor is a new feature which came with 1.3.2. It can be started from the DataProvider's menu ("Data" > "AI aircraft monitor") and it shows the native values which come out of FSX.
-
Sebastian,
no thanks. But if it should happen again, then please send me the files.
-
Sebastian,
could you send me all the logfiles from the DisplayUnit's computer? If it's a network based installation, please send me the logfiles from the DataProvider's computer too.
The logfiles can be found as follows (Win7): Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles.
It would also be helpful if you could take a screenshot when the exception occurs.
You may send all to support@aivlasoft.com.
Thanks.

Joe,
Navigraph does not provide procedures for all airports on the world. Current cycle (1201) provides 3'792 airport files. Unfortunately PKWA and PTSA are not part of that data.
-
Hi Iain,
To be short: No, they are not the same.
The charts in EFB are calculated and rendered every one second. This is done based on data from FSX (for airports, runways, navaids, landing aids ...) and from Navigraph FMS data for all procedures (SIDs, STARs, Approaches).

Please, according to the forum rules, sign your posts with your r/w first name. Thanks.
Please send me all the logfiles from both computers to support@aivlasoft.com.
The logfiles can be found as follows:
Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles

Jean-Louis,
There were (ans still are) two different implementations: a) Online traffic and AI (offline-) trafficAs far I remember and talking about AI, ICAO depart was already there but ICAO arrival was not with ????? insteadOnline traffic always has shown and still shows only the destination of a flight whereas the offline traffic now shows both, the departure and destination ICAO code.
For one it might be important for another one not. I think that's up to everyone's personal decision.is that so important to have such information for AI ? -
Jean-Louis,
Please see William's screenshot above.how and where can I select to save or not ?
Yes, that's correct.where ? "Server Name or IP-adress" field of the TCP communication tab (DU remote PC) ?
No, it's a feature that has been implemented only with 1.3.2.AFAIK, such an improvement was already implemented -
All what can be said is that existing customers will get a discount when purchasing version 2.
-
Morten,
it's not my intention to force you back to any other program, but please bear in mind that EFB was developed basically for IFR flying. If you fly under IFR condition, then you must select a certain runway to land and a procedure which guides you to that runway.
The idea that Travis brought up seems to be interesting. I cannot promise anything but I will have a look at this as soon as I work in that area for version 2.
-
Mark,
what are the TCP/IP settings on the DisplayUnit's computer?
- did you set "Server Mode" to remote?
- is the "Server name" exactly the name of the DataProviders's computer?
- are both computers members of the same workgroup?
No, to my knowledge this is not necessary.do I need to set up a mapped drive on the laptop to the DP in order to get this to work?If it were a DNS problem (DNS cannot resolve the DataProviders IP-address from the given name) then I can say that the upcoming update 1.3.2 will allow you to set a IP-address instead of only the name of the DataProvider's computer. Maybe this will help to solve the problem.
-
Andreas,
can you provide a screenshot of the error message, and maybe you could send all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com? The files can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles

Oliver,
we discussed this some months ago but we came to the finding that it is almost impossible since there are too many different scenery files around. Let's take EDDF for example: One user runs the default scenery, another one runs the Aerosoft scenery with the new "northwest" runway, another one runs a freeware, another one only adds some AFCAD files at the top of the default scenery ... And don't forget, there are also many different Navigraph cycles around, where the older cycles not yet reflect the latest runway designator changes whereas the new cycles does. In other words, there are too many different combinations.

Hi Oliver,
EGKK 08 o8REGKK 26 26L
EGKK 08L NIL
EGKK 26R NIL
EDDF 25R 25C
EDDF 07L 07C
EDDF 25L 25L
EDDF 07R 07R
EDDF 18 18
EDDF 25R 25R
EDDF 07L 07L
I can see that you uses the letter "o" in lower case instead of "0" (zero) at EGKK 08. Maybe you should also use lower case for "nil".
From my point of view the settings for EDDF seems to be right, but I don't have the new scenery with the new "northwest" runway. So maybe some other user can help?

Mark,
in the DataProvider's settings, what is set as "Navigraph data" path (Settings > Folders)?
It should be "H:\FSX\Aivlasoft".
-
Are you a subscriber to the Navigraph FMS data (airac cycles)? If so, then I suggest that you download the latest cycle from their website and install it.
If you're not a subscriber and you used the Navigraph procedures which are included in the EFB setup then you will find the Navigraph installer in the installation folder (where EFB is installed). It's a file name "AIVLASOFT_1101.exe".
-
Mark,
after reinstalling FSX you must reinstall the Navigraph procedures too.
-
seems that I don't know my own software anymore.
Of course, you're right Travis. As long as no procedure is selected there are no frequencies and also no vertical profile available.
-
Vic,
thanks for sending the logfiles. I can see a lot of exceptions of type "0xC000014B". See here for further details on this topic: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=145.
I can also see that a utility runs which auto-saves FSX status every 5 minutes. Am I right? I don't know how many other add-ons are simultaneously running that might have an impact on either FSX or SimConnect.
It seems that FSX is somehow "overloaded" from time to time and then it freezes or crashes. As a result of this also EFB DataProvider crashes.

Vic,
Can you please send me all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com. The files can be found as follows: Windows Start Menu > All Programs > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles
If it's a networked installation, please send me the logfiles from both computers.
Thanks.

Bruce,
thanks for the screenshot. That's very confusing ...

Hi Bruce,
can you provide me a screenshot which shows the entire window of the EFB DisplayUnit when you opened KSFO approach?
using the panel inside fsx
in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)

Peter,
the port number is pre-set (51747) and must not be changed normally. Only in a situation where this port number is already in use by another program, you must change the port number.
The F11 key brings the window to the front (if it were behind the FSX window) but only if the EFB window is not minimized in the task bar. Once it is in the task bar you have to bring it up like you described.
