Is EFB compaitable with FSX:SE
Briant replied to conradcollinson's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
It definitely works fine with SE I've been using it for about a year now without problems so It's probably just a box not ticked somewhere. -

Briant replied to conradcollinson's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
Have you selected FSX-SE in the data providers settings window, on the simulators Tab? -
Hi Juergen2 when you save the flight plan there is a tick box alongside the version you want to save it as which allows you to include the procedure.
-
Hi Juergen, You need to add the additional aircraft yourself. I'm at work at the moment so don't have acccess to the manual to point you in the right direction but how to do it is in there somewhere and it's really easy.

Conflict between EFB and PFPX
Briant replied to witto737's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
I'm assuming that you are using Navdata? the charts data and airac are not updated at the same time and there is sometimes a discrepency if the runway data changes shortly after a chart update go onto the Navdata forum and check in there. They'll be able to tell you in an instant -
Cannot start Display Unit
Briant replied to GerardoM_N's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
I don't think the .Net Frameworks are a cumulative upgrade. each version is installed as well as previous versions not instead of. -
Thanks Urs, I've just found out that the Runway's should be 05/23 and that the change was made too late to make it into the 1513 AIRAC it was also after UK2000's excellent EGMC airport was issued. so a few updates needed all round then

No ideas anyone?

OK so I’m really confused I’m running FSX boxed with all SP’s on a Win 7 pro machine and I’m also running the latest Aivlasoft EFB 1.6.6.28878. I’ve just installed EGMC and EGSS from UK2000 including their updates. EGSS is fine. EGMC correctly shows the runways as 06/24. Navigraph Charts also shows it as 06/24. I have the latest Navigraph Airac 1513 (rev 1) Here.... finally is the problem. When I load EGMC into the Display unit I get the “navdata runway ident could not be assigned to runway” message for each of the runways in the display unit. On closer inspection in the display unit airport information shows 06/24 but approach and arrival Stars and Sids greyed out. So I go to Runways.txt file in the user data folder and append EGMC 05 06 and EGMC 23 24 to the end of the file. I save it and then in the display unit I “reset the airport data cache” click ok and call up the airport again. Check Data provider all good no errors. When I go back to the display unit I the Runways are correctly displayed as 06/24 but they are greyed out still and I’m unable to assign Sids and Stars. Playing about I found that if I change runway.txt to EGMC 06 05 and EGMC 24 23 which is the wrong way round then there is no warning in the data provider and the approach and arrival Stars are now selectable but the airport information now shows the airport as 05/23 the departure options though are still greyed out I’ve tried reinstalling EGMC twice and it’s not made any difference…So here I am standing before the wise ones waiting to be told what I’m doing wrong Regards Brian

Data Provider UTC Setting
Briant replied to Contrail73's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
Unless I'm very much mistaken I don't see how the dataprovider can have any effect on anything you do in FSX. It only reads data from FSX via simconnect. If you're having UTC issues within FSX then it's more likely to be related to timezone which is a known problem with FSX anyway. In either case neither EFB or the time setting within FSX should affect the way any aircraft loads up. I use both the PMDG and Aerosoft Airbus. FSX when launched goes into the first flight screen with the trike selected. From there I select my weapon of choice and then location and time if necessary, that for me loads up fine everytime. As I said I did have the same issue ages ago whereby on loading the aircraft it would start powered up and would smash it's way through the airport. but all is good now. -
Data Provider UTC Setting
Briant replied to Contrail73's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
Phil, try loading up the trike. bring it to a halt if necesary and shut down the engine. Then save that as the default flight. I know it sounds daft but that fixed ot for me ages ago when I had a similar problem -
Wind Direction/Runway Selection
Briant replied to mamock's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
I've found the best way is to load up my aircraft at a gate or ramp and then refresh the weather in ASN, that should get everything working with the same weather. Although it's not impossible for AI to do it's own thing especially if the wind is something like 0/0 -

Hi Urs, will all my settings for the DP and DU be retained when I update? if not what files do I need to set aside? -
post a screen grab of the DP and DU settings screens specifically the TCP Communications tab

He gave you the link to two computers becasue you are asking about TCP entries. these are only required if you are running across a network

My understanding is somewhat limited but as far as I know Simconncet is just an interface between FSX and 3rd party addons. The data in FSX is then read by 3rd party addons via simconnect. I don't believe you can alter the data in simconnect.

I'm not from Aivlasoft but doesn't EFB just read the information supplied to it via simconnect? therefore maybe the issue is not with Aivlasoft

any news for the next version?
Briant replied to mroschk's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
You could try looking in the EFB version 2.0 status thread -
Does your airac cycle in EFB match the jepp chart you're looking at? I believe EFB gets it's chart information from the airac cycle supplied by either Navigraph or Aerosoft so if this is out of date then you will have a mismatch

How big of a frame rate hit is this?
Briant replied to StanTheMan's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
I don't think it affects FSX at all Stan, it runs outside of FSX and only gets it's traffic information via simmconnect. -

I think there's some confusion here. EFB works fine with or without UK2000 I have some UK2000 airports and some other 3rd party ones and it works fine with all of them. Sometimes when runway assignments change at airports you need to do what was suggested, In your instance I don';t think this is the case as EFB is not seeing your UK2000 AP at all. Did you find any other entries in your scenery config that mention UK2000?
