  1. Hi Scott

thanks for uploading the support files. It seems that the connection with X-Plane does not properly work. From what I can see in the logfile, the settings in EFB seem to be OK. Did you change anything in X-Plane or did you run an update in X-Plane? See below a screenshot of the settings in my computer. Check the port numbers (red rectangle on the right side), especially the two legacy ports for receive and send. On your computer they should be set according to the values in the screenshot below. Also check whether the 'Incoming requests' are allowed (red rectangle on the bottom).

  2. EFB v1 was designed in another way. There were no 'free-floating' windows. EFBv2 allows to place every window at the users discretion. Location and size will be saved and applied again when the window is opened next time. Docking the ATC window is not possible because this would require some in-depth changes in the architecture.

  3. Hi Robert

Automatic switching the DB is only possible if there is only one database for each simulator. If you have more than one database for a certain simulator, EFB cannot know which of them shall be the one to be loaded. That's the cause for displaying the information as on your screenshot 1.

The DbBuilder will be started because you have to manually select the Database to be loaded. This is done on the first tab 'Create/Select EFB Database'.

If you select the first tab in the DbBuilder ('Create/Select EFB Database') you see a list of currently available databases. Usually there is only one database for a certain simulator, except you have created a second (or third ...) database from the same simulator but from a different, old and no longer existing AIRAC cycle. If there are older databases from MSFS which were built using older AIRAC cycles you might delete these old databases.

  4. Hello,

not all users have more than one screen on their Client PC. Some of them have only one but a little screen and they are happy about every space they can get. Therefore the Client can be maximized to "real-full-screen" by leaving out the window borders. Similar to the Windows maximize function (double click onto the title bar of a window) this feature is toggled by double clicking onto the airport name area.

BTW, it's not only the small area which you have highlighted on your screenshot, it's the entire area on top of the map (green area below).

  5. Hi Jean-Claude

it is a misunderstanding that MSFS provides the new AIRAC cycle datasets each 28 days, like it is done by Navigraph and Aerosoft. MSFS updates the AIRAC cycle dataset from time to time when it updates the software itself. Apart from that, MSFS uses the NavBlue dataset which is not as complete as the datasets from Lufthansa/LIDO and Jeppesen are. Therefore EFB still relies on the datasets from Navigraph and Aerosoft.

EFB is a tool for several different simulators (FSX, P3D, X-Plane, MSFS) and therefore it has to use a common dataset which is the ARINC-424 coded data files from Jeppesen and Lufthansa/LIDO. Only this way we can provide all the IFR procedures for all the simulators each 28 days.

  6. Hi Juergen

The databases are located as follows: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Server\DbBuilder\Ready

Each database has its own folder and each database is also listed in the file 'databases.txt'.  Deleting only a certain database might be complicated. It's easier to delete all databases together and then (re-)create the database according to your needs.

To delete all databases, quit the DbBuilder (if running) and remove all the folders in the above mentioned path, including the file 'databases.txt'.  The above mentioned path should be empty afterwards. Then start the DbBuilder.exe again and create the database you need.

  7. Thanks for the support file. Unfortunately there is not much content to analyze in the different log files. In other words, I have no idea what happens on your system. I can only guess that with the installation of P3D v5.3 something relevant has been changed in a way that EFB is no longer able to read the required data files.

    Two things make me puzzled:

    1) The warning that the folder 'C:\Users\Greyh\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons' does not contain an add-on.xml.

Why is this folder listed in the add-ons.cfg in 'C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5' but does not contain an add-on.xml?

    2) After the line "Reading add-ons.cfg in 'C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5' no error and no warning is logged,  just the closing of the DbBuilder. It seems that the reading process stops - or it cannot find anything to read.

It seems that I can not help much more in this case.
