ScottecLEMD
HI Urs, Can you advise me why the aircraft type does not display against certain aircraft - e.g. in the picture, KLM1486 n/a, where n/a should display the ICAO aircraft code. Does this information come from the [General] section of the aircraft.cfg file? Thanks Ken
KiloJuliett
Hi Ken What is the source of your AI traffic? Please let us know what are the entries for this flight in the traffic list of the EFB Server.
ScottecLEMD
Hi Jonas, I am using a mix of UTL and AIG, The aircraft in question is from AIG with the following entry: [GENERAL] category=AIRPLANE atc_type=SILENT atc_model=E17S I am not sure what you mean by the traffic list of the EFB Server, do you mean the Traffic Monitor? This is obviously blank now since the sim and EFB was closed down.
KiloJuliett
Yep, the traffic monitor is what I meant. This could be helpful if you spot another case. However, E17S seems to be a fantasy designator. Maybe this is part of the problem. I don't know if there is any cross check with the ICAO database. Urs will be able to clarify. ScottecLEMD
Hi Jonas, I think looking at that code it might be a typo. E17S does not exist in the ICAO DOC 8643 database; I think this should be E75S - ERJ-170-200 Short Wing. I shall amend that in the aircraft.cfg file and see if that makes ant difference. For my own benefit, are the ICAO codes hard coded into the EFB or is that something the user can add/amend? Thanks, Ken
aivlasoft
Hi Ken Quote Does this information come from the [General] section of the aircraft.cfg file? No. The information is always taken from the output of FSUIPC. There is also no crosscheck against any ICAO database or similar. The data provided by FSUIPC is taken without modification. I also did a search through the entire source code of EFB for 'n/a' but to no avail. So I guess that this 'n/a' as depicted in the screenshot of your first post is coming from the simulator, or better said from the application which creates this traffic. ScottecLEMD
Hi Urs, Ok got it, thanks for confirming. I will use the traffic monitor next time to catch this. Many thanks, Ken
