FAJS SID&STAR&APCH

Recommended Posts

Salut Urs,

At Joannesburgh FAJS (now renamed FAOR) all SID&STAR&APCH are not available (greyed out) despite they all exist (Airac 13/03) and there is no conflict with runways depiction. What could be wrong ?

EDITED by AivlaSoft: REMOVED procedures data due to copyright reasons.

Thanks

Jean-Louis

Bonjour Urs et merci,

but the link provided does not help ?? The FAJS issue I'm experiencing is different : I should have told you I do not use FAJS/FAOR addon scenery but the default one !

So I still do not understand why SID&STAR&APCH are all greyed out despite coorect runways depiction

Kind regards

Jean-Louis

Salut Jean-Louis,

The ICAO code FAJS has been changed to FAOR in real world. That means that navigation data from Navigraph and Aerosoft does no longer provide data for an airport using FAJS as ICAO code but for an airport with ICAO code FAOR. Your FSX airport is still using the ICAO code FAJS. Therefore EFB cannot find a match between the ICAO code used in navigation data and the ICAO code used in FSX. The only way to solve such an issue is using an (up-to-date) add-on scenery which is already using FAOR as the ident of the airport.

not clear enough !

"Your FSX airport is still using the ICAO code FAJS. Therefore EFB cannot find a match between the ICAO code used in navigation data and the ICAO code used in FSX"

EFB doesn't know FAOR but FAJS.

I had a look at the current cycles from Navigraph 13/03 and it's like I already said: Navigraph is providing navigation data for FAJS.

The PMDG data for FAJS is the same

Don't we have the same data coming from the same provider Navigraph ?

This is very confusing !!

Jean-Louis,

indeed, it's very confusing. I just downloaded the latest AIRAC cycle 1303 from Navigraph and I still cannot find a data file for FAJS, but for FAOR.

Very confusing that your 1303 cycle contains data from 1213 :?

I had a look now into the archive and would like to let you know the following outcome:

Cycle 1213 lists FAJS but not FAOR

Cycle 1301 lists both, FAJS and FAOR

Cycle 1302 lists FAOR but no longer FAJS

Cycle 1303 lists FAOR but no longer FAJS

to be continued ...

Hello Urs and Jean-Louis (salut Jean-Louis c'est Marc de CyberAvia),

The problem is quite easy to understand.

If you use the latest AIRAC FAJS doesn't exist anymore but well FAOR.

I've resolved this problem by buying the Johannesbourg scenery airport finded here : https://shop.nmgtrading.com/

The've also a patch to convert the FAJS code to FAOR code (also on the same site).

Endly I've applied via AivlaSoft Data Provider the FSX Scenery Data update and I've all the SID and STAR working inside my AivlaSoft Display unit.

That's it.

Have a nice day.

Marc

PS : here is the direct link for the patch : https://shop.nmgtrading.com/index.php?route=opextensions/article&catid=2&blogid=84#.UVFU2VcSB-A

Salut et merci Marc for the info and the link provided !

On the MMG site I can read :

"In January 2013, Johannesburg has changed its ICAO code from FAJS to FAOR.

We have made a patch that will patch the ICAO code of our Johannesburg International Airport package from FAJS to FAOR. We have made patches available for the older FSX Johannesburg International Airport and for the new NMG Johannesburg International Airport 2012 package. Please make sure you get the right version for your package as the patch is version specific"

I understand there are 2 patches available. As I don't plan to buy the Johannesbourg scenery airport you're talking about which one should I choose :

- FSX Johannesburg International Airport FAJS to FAOR Patch ?

- FSX Johannesburg International Airport Patch V3.2 ,

As they say on the MMG site/download section, both are for the Flight Simulator X version of Johannesburg International ONLY. That is not clear enough !

Cordialement

Salut Jean-Louis,

The answer is very quite easy.

If you haven't the intention to buy the NMG Product then you must find another solution. The patch works ONLY with the NMG payware airport of Johannesburg.

CQFD has we said in French. :)

Best Regards.

Marc

  • 2 months later...

So I bought the FAOR airport scenery and did the update so I could get FAOR to work in Aivlasoft and I'm getting a "Cannot find airport with ICAO code = FAOR" error. I did the dataprovider update.

My bad, I didn't add the scenery first to FSX from the Add Scenery menu. :(
