  1. Hello, Yes, the Data Provider crashes everytime I normally quit FSX ??? This is no big deal since I can restart it right away, just something that might be fixed with SP4... BTW is SP4 coming soon ? Best regards Jean-Louis
  2. Hello, Would you please enter the following route in EFB Dislay Unit : FOOL DCT TEMKI PG 0308S S0730 E00830 S1230 E00900 1710S S2100 E01130 2513S 2915S 3217S OKNOL EVUKI DCT FACT save it as : Leon M'ba (FOOL) to Cape Town Intl (FACT).efbr and try to load : EFB Leon M'ba (FOOL) to Cape Town Intl (FACT).pln into FSX via the flightplanner utility : it won't work. Why ? no idea except maybe the special accentuation/apostrophe in M'ba. save it as : Leon Mba (FOOL) to Cape Town Intl (FACT).efbr and tried again : still unloadable ! Any idea from your side ? Best Regards
  3. Thanks Torsten, it did help to answer my question. I feel a little bit less "ignorant" I'm currently ready to install the brand-new ConcordeX I purchased and downloaded yesterday and if it's OK I'll install uiautomationcore.dll 32 bit version in my FSX directory It's true I've got some FSX CTD while my mouse pointer is just passing over or choosing an item in any FSX menu. Those CTD don't occur randomly since I can reproduce them any time. I'm just expecting the uiautomationcore.dll 32 bit version solution might fix that kind of issue Have a nice day
  4. Hi Torsten, alias Procyon Thanks very much for the info related to "how to install uiautomationcore.dll 32 bit version in FSX directory" ! Just one more question : how can you make sure FSX is gonna use the 32-bit version instead of the current 64 bit version located in my Win 7 registry ? I'm not very familiar with that kind of thing so I just want to know (doesn't mean understand....) Merci beaucoup
  5. Hello Procyon, Would you please give me the exact path where to install the 32-bit-version of uiautomationcore.dll into the FSX directory ? What about any conflict between the 2 versions 64 and 32 bit ? As I understood you haven't experienced any issues yet, but would you please report all related issues (if any) ? Merci
  6. hello, As a DP crash occured again yesterday without notice around 16:30 LT, would you please find below my EFB DataProvider txt logfile I just found in : Username/Documents/ Aivlasoft/Logfiles : 2010-03-16 12:30:44,180 [13] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - New connection from 192.168.1.10 accepted. 2010-03-16 12:31:37,970 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Request for Airport [LYTV] from '192.168.1.10' received. 2010-03-16 12:32:44,883 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'inactive' 2010-03-16 12:32:46,745 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'active' 2010-03-16 12:32:50,187 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'inactive' 2010-03-16 12:32:53,503 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'active' 2010-03-16 12:33:23,026 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Request for Airport [LOWI] from '192.168.1.10' received. 2010-03-16 12:33:56,906 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'inactive' 2010-03-16 12:34:01,182 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'active' 2010-03-16 13:09:31,430 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'inactive' 2010-03-16 13:09:32,654 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'active' 2010-03-16 18:15:04,731 [13] WARN AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Connection to 192.168.1.10 terminated, caused by: TimeoutSND 2010-03-16 18:15:06,962 [13] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - New connection from 192.168.1.10 accepted. 2010-03-16 18:16:41,208 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'inactive' 2010-03-16 18:18:28,315 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - SimConnect data transfer mode changed to 'active' 2010-03-16 18:27:14,670 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 2010-03-16 18:27:14,695 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Application started: AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider, Version=1.0.3.25558, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=953442301537c18c 2010-03-16 18:27:16,842 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - License successfully verified. 2010-03-16 18:27:16,844 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - check user settings 2010-03-16 18:27:16,881 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - User settings loaded from 'C:\Users\Jean-Louis\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings\DataProviderSettings.bin' 2010-03-16 18:27:16,884 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Prerequisites ok, starting data provider now 2010-03-16 18:27:18,162 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Initializing sequence started. 2010-03-16 18:27:18,207 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Previous route (LYTV to LOWI) recovered. 2010-03-16 18:27:18,236 [1] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Previous Flightlog recovered. 2010-03-16 18:27:18,275 [9] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - AIRAC cycle 1003 / Rev.1, Valid 11/MAR/2010 - 07/APR/2010 2010-03-16 18:27:18,278 [9] INFO AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Reading indexfiles. 7. Hello, As the Data Provider must be installed on the same computer than FSX and DP crashes to desktop from time to time ("défaut de jeunesse" I guess that will be fixed in the next releases to come), is there a way to provide a visual warning in such a case ? I mean when using EFB in windowed mode on a single PC this is not a problem just because the Data Provider is removed from the taskbar when crashing and this is quite obvious because always visible. But when using EFB with 2 PCs the first one in full screen mode and the remote one in windowed mode, there is no such warning except the one provided on the Display Unit that says something like 'The DU is now disconnected. Trying to reconnect". In case of a DP CTD, a more specific warning such as "DU is now disconnected because DP is non longer active/available" would be far better. Thanks for trying to improve this aspect if possible
  8. AFAIK it's rather simple : - just after loading your FP via the flight planner FS feature, you'll be prompted "Do you want FS to move your aircraft to the departure airport listed on the FP" click YES - on the next window "Free Flight" click CHANGE under current location and choose the starting position that best suits you
  9. Hello, Please find below a short description : LIPX FSX rwys 05 23 LIPX Navdata rwys 04 22 made the following changes in Runways.txt : LIPX 05 04 LIPX 23 22 and the rest as described page 8 in the Operations manual After pressing "Get Airport Data" the LIPX Airport information becomes Runways Id 04 23 as you can see Id 05 is now 04 but Id 23 is still 23 instead of 22 What's wrong ? Thanks
  10. 11. Thanks very much for your recommendations Just a few more questions : - AFAIK there is no desinstaller provided in EFB package. To remove EFB from its current partition before reinstalling it in a different one what do you recommend ? To simply run the window default desinstaller or a similar utility ? - understood desinstallation will destroy all the EFB file including my license file (AivlaSoft_Efb_V1.dlsc) which I must backup first before desinstallation and restore to its original folder to be created manually, after reinstallation. Correct ? Thanks
  12. Hello, I just want to make sure you did understand I'm not complaining about EFB with my recent post "All procedure data comes from Navigraph". From my point of vue and as far as I know, EFB is currently the most achieved add-on of its kind I've ever seen. I'm now a regular and registered EFB customer. Do you think I would have bought EFB if not 95% satisfied ? But once again let me remind you what we all can read on EFB site : "The EFB add-on replaces the unhandy paper flight-bag by a process-oriented software application. EFB is a bit ahead of reality: * You no longer need to dig for charts as all the charts are calculated and rendered based on the current route setup * The charts are automatically shown up as per the demand of the actual flight profile As a top realistic easy-to-use application EFB provides all the necessary aeronautical charts and other relevant information to perform a flight in a much more convenient way than with the old-fashionned paper flight-bag" You must admit this is 90% true for the moment and it might be close to 99% true some day in case you find an agreement with the NAvigraph team to provide some of the missing information on approach charts specially. You know what I'm talking about. It means to fly a specific approach some of us who are not familiar with a given airport need to dig for approach charts wherever they come from, official or not. To make it short "paperless" means less and less paper, but it doesn't mean no more paper at all. Consequently may I suggest it would be fair to tell it this way, or a similar one, with the possible expected improvments that may come in the future. Once again I don't feel "trompé/abusé" at all buying EFB, but "une mise au point produit" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading Best regards
  13. Hello, OK, I do understand your intention with EFB "is not to copy/rebuild the nDAC charts", but would you please tell me how can you make a correct approach procedure without knowing MSA, approach legs from IAF, minimums and the rest ? "EFB does provide a platform for a paperless cockpit" yes it's true but does "paperless cockpit" mean we still need at least the good old paper approach plates/charts to proceed a correct approach ? I'm glad to know an inquiry related to MSA and the rest is pending with Richard at Navigraph. BTW is there a risk they may loose some customers with EFB ? AFAIK I don't think so because to get new AIRAC cycles you must be a Navigraph regular customer. Right or wrong ? Have a good day
  14. Hello, As I'm planning to reorganize my hard drive partitions, I would like to make a full migration of all AivlaSoftware currently installed on (E:) partition to a different partition. I just want to know if a simple "copy/paste" or "cut/paste" or "move to folder" operation/command would do the job or do I need to completly reinstall AivlaSotware from the very beginning ? Thanks very much NB now registered customer
  15. Let's take just one example among others : the EFB LIRF ILS 16R Y/Z approach charts compared with the corresponding Navigraph nDAC charts dated Oct 6 2009 = latest version On the EFB chart some important elements are still missing : - all the IAF (TAQ,BOL,CMP,ROM) - the 2 HP (CMP, ROM) - Initial+Intermediate+Final approach legs coming from the different IAF - the MSA display centered on OST VOR - and all the relevant information provided at the bottom of approach charts (ILS categories, minimums, etc..) I just want to know if you are planning to add those relevant elements for all airport approach charts in the EFB next releases to come ? PS : concerning the chart objects and among them the fixes, how can I get the fix-name labels to be displayed on the approach chart ? I tried a 5 zoom factor with no success. Many thanks
  16. I don't really know if an official standard exists regarding coordinates-format but for sure there is one "de facto" : have a look on aeronautical charts, most of the time, not to say all the times, the coords are given with Latitude-Longitude format. May I also remind you that in EFB ATS route description "the waypoint name can be the coordinate waypoint pairs like 'N6500 W08000' where the Latitude must be the first item within a pair". To avoid any confusion I suggest EFB to adopt the Lat/Lon format instead of the Lon/Lat one that appears in each of the current EFB windows (Route Setup, Departure, Enroute, Arrival, etc..) Thanks for considering this suggestion
  17. Hello, Would you please all of you guys accept my apologize, I must admit I was totally wrong regarding the way to create, with EFB-SP3, a route from an ATC route description with coordinate waypoint pairs like N5041 W01500 and/or with NAT ICAO-Format coordinates like 4267N I should have read the manual new version before posting, instead of only reading the summarize version of the Change Log ServiceUpdate 1.0.3. This is my mistake, no doubt about it. Among all the new features provided with SP3, this special one is very important at least for me. Thank you very much again for your brilliant work. PS in the Route Setup window the coordinate waypoints are given with Lon before Lat. Any reason for that ? Best regards
  18. Thanks for your help, but I'm afraid it doesn't work this way to enter waypoints coordinates. Let me tell you what I think based on what I'm used to with the good old FSNav. I think it should work the same way with EFB despite EFB does not allow yet (I hope) non-rounded coordinates just because such wayoints are fictitious since they are not in the official database ! Those fictitious waypoints were used anyway by Concorde at least, Westbound and Eastbound over the pond and to the Barbados. Acoording to the simmers motto "As real as it gets" it would be fine to plot any of them on an ATS route description All the possibilities given by any rounded coordinates waypoint 4908 for example are 2x2x2 = 8 : North Lat : 4908E = 49°N 008°E 4908N = 49°N 008°W 49E08 = 49°N 108°E 49N08 = 49°N 108°W South Lat : 4908S = 49°S 008°E 4908W = 49°S 008°W 49S08 = 49°S 108°E 49W08 = 49°S 108°W AFAIK there is no way to enter the wypt 49°N 008°E in the route description the way you told me : N4900 E00800. The only and right way is 4908E. Thanks for your attention
  19. Hello, A lot of major improvements with SP3 ! Good job... Except EFB SP3 is rather far from my expectations regarding the new ATS route description allowing coordinates waypoints and/or NAT type (ICAO-format) to be entered. Yes that is true you can now enter such waypoints with Lat/lon coordinates but only in degrees ! Just forget minutes and 10th of minute !! Let's take an example : Concorde NAT Sierra Mike (WESTBOUND) * SM1 ......50° 41'N 15°W * SM2 ......50° 50'N 20°W * SM3 ......50° 30'N 30°W * SM4 ......49° 16'N 40°W * SM5 ......47° 03'N 50°W * SM6 ......46° 10'N 53°W * SM7 ......44° 14'N 60°W * SM8 ......42° 46'N 65°W * SM9 ......42° 00'N 67°W As you know each of all these waypoints are to be set in the triple mix INS navigation system in order to follow the correct route planned. With EFB SP3 I can only set the last one SM9 42N067W. Of course I can make some approximations to get rounded figures for the rest of the waypoints but this would be not realistic. I think this improvement is a good one but not flexible enough. It would be much much better to be able to enter any waypoint with its full coordinates Lat N/S and Lon E/W in degrees minutes and 10th of minute just like the others waypoints. For example the waypoint KENDA is given by N39°21.2' and W070°30.0'. BTW why do you start with Lon instead of Lat ? Is that the ICAO-format ? Looks strange to me. And please don't tell me there is no need of such a degree of precision just because Concorde no longer flies or the NAT coordinates are given with rounded Lat/Lon figures. I'm sure my request will be approved by many pilots flying different aircrafts. As you remember it was no problem to enter any waypoint with its full coordinates with the basic FSNav addon for FS9 With the high sophistication of EFB it won't be a major problem to implement such a complete function. I'm sure you can do it Thanks for your attention.
  20. Thanks for the info Michael ! I'm glad to know something new concerning my Swiss neighbours and the multi-languages spoken over there
  21. Hello, Yes, to be able to insert/modify/delete waypoints and plot them on the EFB moving-map with their geo coordinates is just a MUST. Did you ever cross the pond ? For sure you did ! and you know NAT routes are provided with Lat/lon waypoints to be inserted in your preferred Nav system. As a Concordia VA member using INS nav flying SST, I need to plot all the Concorde special tracks SM,SN,SO and SP over the Atlantic. Hope SP3 will soon implement this essential feature !!
  22. Hello, Yes it was very helpful !! It took me some time to find this post and to realize there was a bug that will be corrected in the next SP3 to come. I didn't understand why certain of my FPL were FSX loadable and some others were not ! I made the FPL corrections with the search function provided with notepad, to find the contents between the XML tags with a length > 10 characters. I confirm it happened with ILS approach. With at most 10 characters it works fine, with 11 and more it doesn't !! Good to know
  23. Hello, Thanks for the information. The AivalSoft EFB Fms data update with the most recent Cycle available did work fine ! BTW what does mean Aivla ?
  24. Hello, I just installed you EFB addon which seems to be of the greatest quality... My first impression is the following one : those guys know what they are talking about ! and that is the most important when you plan to develop and maintain such a tool. I will try EFB during the 30 days trial period and in the case I decide to buy it be sure it's excellent. My only regret : EFB doesn't work on FSX full screen mode if installed on a single PC ! To be honest I was looking for the equivalent of FSnav for FSX. FSnav is simple to use and works fine with FS9 full screen mode.. But Fsnav is no longer supported ! It's clear your addon is far better, rather intuitive but much more sophisticated ! My question : as a regular Navigraph customer I just want to know how to proceed to install a new EFB cycle. The AivlaSoft EFB current Cycle available is : 1001 (Effective from 14JAN10) AIRAC 1001 cycle - includes navaids, airports, airways and terminal procedures. I just downloaded it and before installing I want to make sure which file to save before installation. Is that the entire folder located in : (Drive letter)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Simulator X\Aivlasoft wich contains the 2 folders Navdata + SIDSTARS ? Would you please let me know ? Merci beaucoup
