EFB2 server and client only WIFI connection?
petermaxkoller posted a topic in EFB v2 - Support forum
Hi Back now in flightsim after 3 years I mounted a brandnew PC and installed the newest version of P3D. This PC has only a WIFI conection to my Swisscom router (no ethernet cable) and workes fine. Now I would like to install EFB2 on this PC (server) and the client on a Lenovo laptop who is also only conected to the router via WIFI. Does EFB2 work with a "only" WIFI configuration (client and server)? Both PCs have the latest Windows 10-64 version. Thanks Peter -
Hi Urs I am back in flightsim, remember me? Do you intend to adapt EFB for the upcoming FS2020? I allready mounted a brandnew PC for flightsim 2020 and waiting for a pre-alpha version of the new MS Flight Simulator; I registered and waiting for feedback. Thanks, see you in november in Hergiswil. Peter

EFB and Flight1 SoundStream
petermaxkoller posted a topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
Hi (Just for your information) When you are using EFB Display Unit (or mail / Internet Explorer and ...) on the same PC as FSX you have the problem that when you switch to the Display Unit, the FSX sound goes off. Solution ist Flight1 SoundStream! Flight1 Soundstream is a FSX module (15 US$) that enables FSX when running together with another program on the same computer (e.g. EFB, Mail, Internet Explorer) maintains the FSX-sound running (in the background) even when you are working with the mouse in e.g. EFB. I downloaded the programm and it works perfect together with EFB, mail, Internet Explorer. Peter EFB Beta Tester -

Hallo Felix (and Urs) I mailed the two decompressed files to Felix; its OK now. The .rar files have to be decompressed by a programm which you can download from the internet (e.g. WinRar); have a look with Google "unpack .rar files" and you will find this unpacker! Peter -

Hi Jean-Louis and Urs I am running EFB (Beta 1.3) on a Win7-64 with SP1 and have no problems; the Display Unit is on a second Win-XP PC. Peter -
Norbert The Level-D 767 has his own flightplan (.rte). Flightplans are saved in this datatype when you create a flightplan with the LDS FMC. I am planning my flights with VROUTE Premium; there you have a export function to the LDS. Peter

Hi Dave Did you read the post in this forum: "Can't get the distributed installation to work"? I also have a 2-Computer setup with Windows 7 64Bit for FSX with the Data Provider and a Windows-XP PC for the Display unit. And it works super; you have to share the respective folders as explained in the other post. Peter CEO cheeseair-va http://www.cheeseair-va.ch -

FSX time of day driven by EFB?
petermaxkoller replied to petermaxkoller's topic in EFB v1 (Read only, no longer supported)
Urs Regarding the point 2 the situation is the following (LSZH as an example with the base scenery from FSX, the FSDreamteam addon scenery and the MyTrafficX) / all installed before EFB: 1. I assume that you take the parking positions from a .bgl file. 2. For LSZH I have three .bgl files with parking positions: APX50150.bgl FSX base scenery (scenery layer 52) BR2_LSZH.bgl MyTrafficX (scenery layer 134) APX_LSZH.bgl FSDreamteam addon scenery (scenery layer 135) 3. On the ground chart of EFB I think you are using the .bgl file from the base scenery (layer 52) instead of the .bgl file from FSDreamteam with the highest layer number. The fact is that e.g. terminal A has on one side of the building the following gates: In EFB A44 A46 A48 -and no ILS RW28 In FsDreamteam A42 A44 A46 A48 A50 - and ILS RW28 included and EFB Display Unit is showing only A44 A46 A48 with no ILS RW28. What do you think about? Thanks Peter -
FSX time of day driven by EFB?

Urs Points 1 and 3 are OK; thanks; I unchecked the synchronisation. Point 2:- for standard FSX airports it is OK. - for addon sceneries (I have from Aerosoft - Frakfurt and Nizza and from FSDreamteam Zurich and Geneva) i am not sure if it works right for the airport charts when using addon sceneries. I have the AFX Programm (Airport Facilitator) who can analyse the AFCAD files. I will analys the AFCD files LSZH of the standard scenery and the addon scenery and compare the parking positions and the taxiways with your displayed airport chart. I will give you a feedback. Hi Urs I am the CEO of cheeseair-va,ch and talked to you last saterday in Hergiswil. I downloaded and installed EFB on a two computer setup; data collector on the FSX PC under Windows 7-64 Bit and the display unit on a second PC with Windows-XP 32-Bit. After some troubles to share the data provider folder on the Windows 7 PC the connection works fine. I just made a short flight to test EFB and I have three point to ask: 1. EFD changes the FSX time of day to the actual system time; that means that i cannot fly at night with a FSX dayscenery? Is thart correct? 2. I have installed the FSDreamteam addon scenery for LSZH; but I think EFB is displaying the ground chart based on the standard FSX scenery. 3. After installing EFB +- evey 5 minutes FSX is refreshing / reloading the scenery just like FSX would start again. Thanks Peter Koller CEO Cheeseair-va www.cheeseair-va.ch
