ontheair
Salut Urs, Are there 2 different formats for FSX FPL .pln ? I'm a bit lost and I'd like to understand... The following FPL "FSX_Etape2 Pau Pyrenees to Saint Girons Antichan" is given by IVAO as a FSX FPL .pln (guess IVAO staff members are serious guys when talking about FSX FPL) : [flightplan] title=LFBP to LFCG description=LFBP, LFCG type=VFR routetype=0 cruising_altitude=6500 departure_id=LFBP, N43* 22.80', W0* 25.12', +000616.00 departure_name=Pau Pyrenees destination_id=LFCG, N43* 0.47', E1* 6.18', +001376.00 destination_name=Saint Girons Antichan waypoint.0=LFBP, A, N43* 22.80', W0* 25.12', +000616.00, waypoint.1=TBO, V, N43* 19.93', E0* 8.75', -000000.00, waypoint.2=LFIM, A, N43* 6.45', E0* 37.15', +001320.00, waypoint.3=LFCG, A, N43* 0.47', E1* 6.18', +001376.00, but it's rejected by EFB when trying to load it, with the message : "the given file C:\............\FSX_Etape2 Pau Pyrenees to Saint Girons Antichan is not a valid xml file Is there a way to to make it EFB acceptable as a non xml file ? Andydigital
Try loading it with the FS2004 option instead.
aivlasoft
Salut Jean-Louis, of course the guys at IVAO are serious! But it seems to me that there is a lot of misunderstanding concerning the different file formats for FSX and FS9. Flight plans that are created by FSX are saved as XML files. Flight plans that are created by FS9 are saved as pure text files. Just to confuse ... both flight plan formats have the postfix "*.pln". Because FSX is capable of reading both formats many add-on developers and websites offer the possibility to create "FSX" plans although these plans are in fact FS9 text file plans. @ Andy, thanks for pointing in the right direction
