  1. This is taken from the back of my mind so I might be wrong but if my memory serves that would indicate the EFB Display Unit finds the EFB Data Provider but for some reason can't connect to FSX. Do you also have some other addons on the second PC and if so...can they connect to FSX? If yes that would of course suggest something might be wrong with your EFB installation/setup but if other addons also have problem connecting to FSX it might be your SimConnect setup that isn't configured/installed correctly.
  2. I'm happy to say adding EHAA:W to the firs.dat file seems to have done the trick Now the EHAA_W_CTR shows up just fine not only looking on the ServInfo map but also on the EFB map. Will try the same approach for other sectors that don't show up on the EFB map since I believe the problem might be the same in those cases.
  3. Thanks Urs, I'll try that on next flight.
  4. Found another post where this same thing was discussed in the past and there a firs.dat file was mentioned so I checked this file and noticed I could only find EHAA and not EHAA_W used in this case by Amsterdam Radar. Is it possible that could be what is causing this...when controllers controlling a large sector use callsigns describing what part of a sector they are controlling in this case EHAA_W for West...? Was thinking if I could maybe copy the existing line for EHAA in the firs.dat file and paste it below in the firs.dat file as EHAA_W, what do you think?
  5. Same problem here with CTR not displaying on the EFB map although they are online and showing up just fine in ServInfo. The position I have this problem with this time is Amsterdam Radar and they are using the callsign EHAA_W_CTR looking in ServInfo. When checking the Route Setup page in EFB and clicking on the Check... button for online traffic Amsterdam Approach and Tower is listed under the ATC Online tab but Amsterdam Radar isn't. I then checked the Unknown Callsigns and Invalid Definition Data tabs but no Amsterdam Radar or EHAA_W_CTR listed under those tabs either. Sorry...forgot to say this is on IVAO.
  6. Sounds great, thanks a lot Urs for your time and efforts!
  7. Thanks for trying to help us solve this issue although it might not even be EFB that is causing it, that's what I call support! The IvAp pilot client for flying on the IVAO network is a free program and you can download it here -> http://www.ivao.aero/softdev/IvAp/IvAp_downl.asp
  8. I'm not very tempted to be honest to start messing around with my IvAp setup now that I have it working because it was a pain setting it up and have it work with all SimConnect configuration etc. But noticed William said above he has the same problems as I have and he is already running everything on the same computer. When I've seen this problem where I see other a/c in FSX but not in the AI monitor or on the EFB charts I have TRFC enabled and not OTPV.
  9. Thanks Urs but I know about the AI traffic monitor already, I believe we discussed this in this very thread. When I have this problem nothing is displayed in the monitor which would then indicate its a FSX or IVAO problem since you say the output is unfiltered but I'm still puzzled because I didn't have the same amount of issues with displaying online traffic before I updated EFB with the latest SP and I haven't changed anything else in FSX or to my IvAp setup since that would affect online traffic...only installed a couple of airport sceneries. I'm running in a networked environment with both IvAp and EFB running on a second PC. This is not a major problem, only a bit annoying when you can't really trust that the surrounding traffic indeed is displayed by EFB but I realize you can't do much about it if the problem is not within EFB.
  10. Would be interesting to hear if something did change in the latest update that actually could cause these issues with displaying online IVAO traffic. The traffic is shown, it's just not consistent and you can never be sure if surrounding traffic will be recognized and displayed by EFB or not and surely that is a bit annoying. My temp solution to this now is to also use ServInfo to check for traffic around me. As for correct liveries on VATSIM I tried all available clients including FSInn with no luck having all liveries show correctly in an easy way but maybe I missed something. On IVAO setting up the client including all liveries you can think of is a simple Next, Next, Finish type of thing all fully automated. Anyway I'm happy just being able to fly online regardless of what network I'm on since it gives you so much more of that real feeling compared to flying offline.
  11. I have an account on VATSIM as well and I have tried it a couple of times but all the hassle trying to get the online traffic to display in the correct liveries made me switch back to IVAO every time and this was also the main reason I chose IVAO over VATSIM many years ago now.
  12. Maybe the difference is between VATSIM and IVAO? I'm flying on IVAO.
  13. Today I noticed this problem again, had an a/c parked next to me and not displayed on the EFB chart. One thing I've been thinking is if it could have anything with the latest EFB service pack to do? I can't remember having these issues before that. Maybe it has nothing to do with it, was just a thought and if memory serves something changed to the way online traffic is handled in the latest SP?
  14. You're absolutely correct, I'm more than pleased with EFB and wouldn't fly without it now that I'm used to it. As for the online traffic issues sure it would be great if they could be resolved so you can trust what is and isn't displayed 100% but I understand this might be tough if it in fact is FSX and it's limitations that are the culprit.
  15. Ok, got it. Guess we all learned by now there will always be some limitations, issues and mysteries in FSX that probably never can/will be resolved. Too bad but not much to do so thanks anyway for explaining.
  16. Here is an example when there are online traffic (IVAO) seen in FSX but not in EFB for some reason. Since I have the Display Unit on a second PC I couldn't include that in the screenshot but the traffic was not displayed on the Display Unit either.
  17. Today I noticed in the status bar of the display unit where you see when the last IVAO update was it also says FBS=ON, what does this mean?
  18. I thought that was to check for other a/c before you actually go online. In this case I had the traffic button enabled. Another thing I noticed when enroute is sometimes traffic also stay on the chart even after they are outside the range you've set for showing traffic. Well...not a big deal
  19. Today I ironically had the opposite problem, was parked at gate 5 at ESSA when an a/c landed on 19R. The a/c showed up on the ground chart just fine and even before touchdown since I checked the option to show also airborne traffic on the ground chart within 10 nm. What then happened was I noticed on the ground chart how the a/c came in my direction and eventually parked at the gate on my right hand side but then after it disconnected from IVAO it reamined on my ground chart but it was gone in FSX and using AI a/c monitor as you told me about it showed nothing which was totally correct but for some reason the pink a/c symbol for this other online a/c remained on the ground chart. I thought maybe it would disappear after the online updates that occours every 5 min or so but nope...it remained on the ground chart even after updating.
  20. I too have experienced a strange problem with online traffic the last few days but in my case it's on IVAO and the weird thing is I see some online traffic but not all and it seems to be mostly on the ground. Let's say I'm parked at gate 20 at any airport and looking to my right I see another a/c at gate 22 and same thing looking to my left I see another a/c at gate 18. This is when I'm looking in FSX out of the window sitting in the virtual cockpit (or any view for that matter in FSX) but looking on the ground chart in EFB I only see one of the a/c but not the other. I'm not sure and maybe it's just a coincidence but it feels like I'm started to have these weird problem after upgrading EFB to 1.3.2. Any idea what might be causing this?
  21. OK, thanks alot for the info - good to know! About the Navigraph AIRAC data for EFB, is that only for SIDs, STARs and navigational waypoints then?
  22. Like the subject says, I've noticed on several (most) flights that the inbound course for ILS approaches is different by one or a couple of degrees looking in EFB and the PMDG NGX FMC and I can't see why this is since they both use the same Navigraph AIRAC data - wouldn't that be a garantee they should be the same? And how do I know which one of them are the correct one? Until now I've been using the course in the FMC which has been working fine so far but it's a bit confusing with different values.
