DadGameTime
When I fly into an airport, all of the approaches appear to have their MDAs listed in Metric instead of Imperial. Since no one outside of China or Russia uses a metric altimeter, why are my MDAs at US airports in Meters instead of feet? Is there a way to change it? lonewulf47
Hi Brian, Not sure what you mean. If you refer to VISIBILITY, the indeed all DEFAULT values are metric as we don't distinguish between countries when applying DEFAULT minima. ALTITUDES (or HEIGHTS) however are in feet MSL (or feet AGL respectively). AIRPORT SPECIFIC minima are listed in ft, altitude/height in meters(kilometers outside the US. The files containig the respective values are just an additional service and not aleays official values. You can edit them to your liking and furthermore update here after each new AIRAC Cycle. A tutorial is included in the Manuals.
