Runway not available

Hi,

 

I am enroute from Reykjavik to Montreal, trying to set-up the arrival and approach. I checked in FSX-SE and there is NO ILS frequency for runway 11 / 29 listed, so I have to use rwy 6 /24. The display on the approach shows: Wind from 135 degr. favors rwy(s) 6 /11. However, runway 6 is "grayed" out and I can not select it. There are NO runway exceptions displayed on the data provider for Montreal.

Basically my question is: What scenario(s) makes EFB "gray out" runways?

Hi Urs,

As I mentioned in my first post "there are NO runway exceptions" listed on the data provider screen; see attached screenshot:

a greyed out runway identifier might also mean that there is NO procedure available. Did you verify whether your current AIRAC cycle provides at least one procedure for the runway?

I checked with a PMDG a/c (AIRAC-1610) and it shows NO procedures available for runways 6 / 24??? Even though in SkyVector it shows runway 06 to be a CAT II / III runway. Only procedures available for  11 / 29.

I think I scrap this flight and go to CYUL (Montreal, Trudeau).
