Installation of Aivlasoft v1.1.0 fails

Recommended Posts

I have FSX in use but installed on a seperate Solid State Disc ( H ) for speed reasons while the operating system windows 7 ( 64 bits ) runs on the main ( C ) hard disc. When trying to install the Aivlasoft generates an error - can not find FSX sp2 nor accelaration pack and request to only install the displayunit.

I would like to indicate to the software the mainfolder of FSX instead which seems to be impossible. Maybe a workaround available as I would like to test te functionality as FSnavigator is not available for FSX - I have the trial version just downloaded returned from the FS simulator days in Lelystad. Cheers Peter

Hi Peter,

the installer checks whether the installation path from FSX is available in the registry. The key is "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\flight simulator\10.0\". At this location a value called "SetupPath" should be available. It this path is not available the installer stops.

Hope this helps?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have started the Regedit.exe utility but could not find any Microsoft FSX reference - it is simply not there in the HLM registry. Then I did a check in the Remove Programs of the Configuration utility

To my suprise no reference of FSX only of the Service Pack 2 This is very odd.

My idea is now to instal FSX on my notebook and copy the register file to HLM as is and modify the Setup path to the location of FlightSimulatorX on disc H.

Maybe a good idea You think?

Installed with Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\flight simulator]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\microsoft games\flight simulator\10.0]

"LangID"=dword:00000409

"CDPath"="E:\\"

"SetupPath"="F:\\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\\"

To my regret the installer still does not work - same message

Cheked with regedit registry entries are correct as above merged under Microsoft etc.. regards Peter

Peter,

in your first post you mention that the solid state disk is "H" whereas in your latest post you mention that FSX is installed on "F" (at least the path in the registry points to that location). Maybe this is the problem?

Some more information about the installer: After getting the installation path it searches for the "fsx.exe" file and then it checks the file versions:

10.0.61472 (SP2)

10.0.61637 (Acceleration Package)

Can you confirm that "F:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe" has a one of the versions above ?

The FSX file details are version 10.0.61472.0 while the SSD drive has the letter F indeed Thats where the FSX is installed - I mentioned H before but that was not correct as you correctly indicated. Meanwhile I have deleted the CDpath as it has no meaning and tryed to install again without luck. I will search for the Flight1 software maybe this helps me further. Thank for your support Peter

Did find the FlightOne fsx repair utility as indicated by Andy - Thank you for this excellent tip - and executed this small 37Kb file. After this I had a look in the HLM rigistry but did not find any changes However the Aivla software did install correcty. So I think other registers/ software have been changed possitively as all works correctly now. Thank you for your excellent support and thinking although it was not your problem I realized. I will start to have a look into your software and hopefully it is indeed a good replaced for the Fsnavigator/FS9 funcionality in FSX - I understand that there is no autopilot but that is not what I needed as the FMC of LevelD is fully capable of handling all autopilot functions. Hi Peter,

I just checked the registry on a 64-bit system and indeed it's quite different than on a 32-bit machine.

I think that my first advice to manually add this key was not very good, and it is not necessary. As it seems to be on a 64-bit machine, the registry path is available but not at the same place than on a 32-bit system. I found the requested key as follows:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\microsoft games\flight simulator\10.0

I wrote a test installer which shows the values that are checked as prerequisites. Could you run this file? I sent you a PM because of your mail address.

I did check the VirtualStore as you indicated and find under software Nividia and the Wow6432 folders. In the Wow folder Adobe and Microsoft and within Microsoft then a DownloadManger folder. There is nothing of a kind in terms of gaming. Your application software has been installed and connects to FSX as it reads a FSX flight plan and the dataprovider got all the data... I do not know your program at all but it seems to work fine. If you would like to send me your file please do so with instructions how to test it. I think you have my e-mail adres for doing so and I will report the outcome as soon as I have got your file then. regards Peter
