MajorMike
I noticed today that the ILS frequency for Runway 16R at Rome Fiumicino is different to the Frequency in the Navigraph Charts and the Flight Sim Commander. EFB is showing a frequency of 110.3 FRR. Navigraph gives a frequency of 109.75 IFRR Flight Sim Commander gives a frequency of 109.75 IFRR. I have recently updated that Data to the current cycle 07/Jan/2016-03/Feb/2016 and did use the second version as I am aware there was a problem with the first version upsetting PFPX. Is there an explanation for this discrepancy. Thank-you. aivlasoft
Hi Michael, don't forget that FSX data is "very" old in the meantime, whereas navigation data is up to date. Most probably you have the stock scenery for LIRF installed on your computer. The frequency 110.3 FRR comes from the installed scenery (BGL file), whereas Navigraph shows the todays frequency from real world. EFB shows you the frequencies from the scenery file because you can only tune this frequency in your radios. How to solve this: Install up-to-date scenery which reflects the real world situation, or - there is a free solution to upgrade the frequencies only: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html
MajorMike
Thank-you for the reply, If you looked at my links you will see the FS Commander shows the correct frequency, I haver already installed Aerosoft Rome. So the problem seems to be with the EFB. I look forward to your reply. Thank-you, Michael Houghton
aivlasoft
Hi Michael, if you open the airport information for LIRF, does it show the correct BGL file? Please read the manual, section 7, page 17 for more details on how to get the BGL file name displayed. Did you run the DataProviders "Scenery data update" after the installation was done? MajorMike
Thank-you for your reply, I have managed to find the BGL file it was referencing and interestingly it was looking at a file in my My Traffic. After looking at the forum and noticing someone else who had a similar problem I tried reinstalling the Aerosoft Rome software which was successful and interestingly the BGL file now appears to be the correct file for the Aerosoft add on airport Rome LIRF. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fhkc1mwx4jbh75l/LIRF%20BGL.jpg?dl=0 I assumed this would show the correct frequency for the 16R of 109.75 according to FS Commander and Navigraph but the ILS frequency on the Aivlasoft EFB is still 110.3. I did run the scenery data update. I am not sure if this has an answer but would be grateful if you have any other ideas. Thank-you. aivlasoft
Michael, could you please send me that file (which is displayed on the airport information dialog) for further inspection? (support@aivlasoft.com). Thanks.
