EGMC Runway assignment

Recommended Posts

OK so I’m really confused I’m running FSX boxed with all SP’s on a Win 7 pro machine and I’m also running the latest Aivlasoft EFB 1.6.6.28878.

I’ve just installed EGMC and EGSS from UK2000 including their updates. EGSS is fine.

EGMC correctly shows the runways as 06/24. Navigraph Charts also shows it as 06/24. I have the latest Navigraph Airac 1513 (rev 1)

Here.... finally is the problem. When I load EGMC into the Display unit I get the “navdata runway ident could not be assigned to runway” message for each of the runways in the display unit. On closer inspection in the display unit airport information shows 06/24 but approach and arrival Stars and Sids greyed out. So I go to Runways.txt file in the user data folder and append EGMC 05 06 and EGMC 23 24 to the end of the file. I save it and then in the display unit I “reset the airport data cache” click ok and call up the airport again. Check Data provider all good no errors.

When I go back to the display unit I the Runways are correctly displayed as 06/24 but they are greyed out still and I’m unable to assign Sids and Stars.

Playing about I found that if I change runway.txt to EGMC 06 05 and EGMC 24 23 which is the wrong way round then there is no warning in the data provider and the approach and arrival Stars are now selectable but the airport information now shows the airport as 05/23 the departure options though are still greyed out

I’ve tried reinstalling EGMC twice and it’s not made any difference…So here I am standing before the wise ones waiting to be told what I’m doing wrong :?

Regards

Brian

Brian,

if the scenery shows the same identifiers than the navdata, you don't have to add any lines to the 'runways.txt' because then you don't have a conflict. In any case, always verify whether the 'runways.txt' does not contain old or no longer required assignments. The later is often the case after updating to an up-to-date scenery.

Thanks Urs, I've just found out that the Runway's should be 05/23 and that the change was made too late to make it into the 1513 AIRAC it was also after UK2000's excellent EGMC airport was issued. so a few updates needed all round then :)
