Chevy
Hi there, your product seems exactly what I've been looking for and before I buy it I wanted to evaluate it under my Windows 7 (Beta) OS. I followed your installation and configuration manual exactly but every time I want to run the DataProvider.exe for the first time it aborts with the following error after having finished reading Flight Simulator data (c/p from the DataProvider_log.txt): Index creation running ...2009-12-02 21:44:00,313 [7] ERROR AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - CreateAirportInfoLists, Filename:C:\FSX\Scenery\0202\scenery\APX16190.bgl Position:170600 Layer:21, ICAO:L06, Exception:Ein Element mit dem gleichen Schlüssel wurde bereits hinzugefügt., StackTrace: bei System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource) bei System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.Insert(TKey key, TValue value, Boolean add) bei s0.a(List`1 A_0) I tried it several times, tried a reinstall of EFB but no luck. I don't know what might be wrong with the file "APX16190.bgl" because my FSX is standard (FSX + AccPack), only with Ultimate Terrain and some OrbX Sceneries. Even temporarily removing the bgl from the folder doesn't help. Any idea how I could make EFB run? Any help is highly appreciated. I can provide you with the full log.txt if helpful. aivlasoft
Hi Christian, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. I think that this is the same problem than on Peter 's installation. Could you please send me all the logfiles, so I can possibly give you a workaround. Thanks,
Chevy
Hi Urs, thanks for going into this. I will email you the log files today evening (as I'm currently in my office and have no hands on my FSX installation ). One thing I tried yesterday: I deleted the APX16190.bgl file and re-run the DataProvider. There were still error messages (you will find them in the log file) but this time the DataProvider did not shut down completely or aborted. It restarted as it should and I was able to start the display unit afterwards. In the end I copied the APX16190.bgl back to its original place and it seemed to work. Nevertheless it's not a satisfying workaround to perform each time. And the remainig errors prove there seems to be something wrong still. Chevy
Hi Urs, as promised I just sent you my logfile via email. Hope to see a solution soon. Thanks a lot and Grüezi from Germany. Christian
aivlasoft
Hi Christian, thanks for the logfiles. Both problems found in your logfile could have been fixed in the code. I will give a hotfix tomorrow to our beta-testers and hopefully it can then be released in the next days. A big 'sorry' for the inconvenience. Chevy
Thanks for your prompt inquiries. Don't bother: I'm looking forward to getting the hotfix and I'll keep on testing EFB next week. Happy weekend Christian

aivlasoft
Oliver-Martin, please can you send all the logfiles to support@aivlasoft.com. You will find them as follows: Windows-Start-Menu > All Programs (Alle Programme) > AivlaSoft > EFB > Logfiles. Thank you.
MilleSabor
Thank you for your quick reply - I didn't expect any answer at all on a weekend! I just sent you the files you requested - my particular problem may have been solved in the meantime however: It may have been related to my scenery.cfg perhaps as I had to rebuild that particular file due to other reasons and decided to give EFB another try before I would send the logfiles - and succeeded in starting the DataProvider this time. All I did was copying the contents of my original scenery.cfg into a newly created scenery.cfg. I don't know what has been fixed as the contents are virtually identical but there must have been a problem with the original file apparently. Anyway: Those files have been provided to you because you might run into the same issue again (even though I don't know what went wrong)? kind regards Oliver-Martin
aivlasoft
Solved. The problem occured due to an inconsistency within the scenery.cfg file. The inconsistency happend when the file was maintained by a third party product.
