runways wrong

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

this is the errors from data provider. I have made the changes before on other airports to runways.txt. not sure about this one though

Navdata runway ident 02 at airport LOXZ could not be assigned to Fsx runway

Navdata runway ident 08R at airport LOXZ could not be assigned to fsx runway

Navdata runway ident 08L at airport LOXZ as above

Navdata runway ident 20 at airport LOXZ as above...saves me typing!!

Navdate runway ident 26L at airport LOXZ as above

Navdata runway ident 26R at Airport LOXZ as above

Availble runways at this airport are as follows 08, 26

Thanks

Clive

Clive,

There are three issues here - one runway that is newer IRL than in FSX - 02/20, one other runway that is newer IRL than FSX, and (possibly) one runway that has had its identifiers changed because of the newer parallel runway.

The first issue is easy to address:

LOXZ nil 02
LOXZ nil 20

The other two issues depend on whether FSX 08/26 is Navigraph 08R/26L or whether FSX 08/26 is Navigraph 08L/26R. (I guess its possible that FSX 08/26 is neither of the two possibilities... in that case I would suggest that you seek newer scenery.)

So either...

LOXZ nil 08L
LOXZ nil 26R
LOXZ 08 08R
LOXZ 26 26L

... or...

LOXZ nil 08R
LOXZ nil 26L
LOXZ 08 08L
LOXZ 26 26R

... but a new scenery that has all the runways is the better choice. :)

If you have access to satellite / aeral photography, adding new runways, lights and markings with a tool such as Airport Design Editor (ADE) is a piece o'cake.

General information and Com frequencies are easy-peasy too. I can get tripped up at times when it comes to taxiways, parking, aprons, buildings, etc. but I've twiddled up a few regional-sized airports (and a major extension to a commercial payware *cough*KCLT*cough*) in my time.

No I'm not sharing, everyone would laugh.

Well, what can I say :)

LOXZ now has the correct runways 08L/26R and 26L/08R and it works in EFB to.

All I did was get the data from here:

http://www.the-airport-guide.com/airpor ... ts_id=6304

Added runway in ADE and thatwas it, well nearly.

Travis/Urs, when I tried to add the LAT and LON in ADE the runway disappeared

So all I've done it 'dragged it to were I think it should be. Any ideas

thanks

Clive
