DisplayUnit fails to start after update 1.2.1

Hallo Urs,

 

first I want to mention that I very much appreciate your excellent work on EFB. Since I bought it (10 month ago) I'm using it everytime I'm flying with the planes in FSX.

 

Today I got aware, that there is a new EFB-update (1.2.1) - so I installed it right now.

But I must tell you my Display Unit isn't starting anymore.

Instead I get a bunch of error-messages in one big window (most of them telling something about "serialization"). This error-windows starts with: "Type 'mw' in Assembly 'AivlaSoft.Efb.DisplayUnit, Version=1.2.1.19036, Culture=neutral,

PublicKeyToken=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is not marked as serializable.". (screenshot available)

 

Could you please help me?

Or should I go back to version 1.2.0

 

I am using EFB and FSX on WinXP/32 on a single computer. (I should mention that I installed new AIRAC-data after the EFB-update)

Hi Albert,

 

it seems that with 1.2.1 on several computers the DisplayUnit does no longer start up properly. When reading the settings file the exception is being raised.

 

The solution (workaround) for that is as follows:

 

- Close the DisplayUnit

- Open the folder: "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\Settings"

- Delete the file "DisplayUnitSettings.bin"

- Restart the DisplayUnit

- Enter the settings
