echofisk
Hello, EFB running successful since several weeks on a Distributed Installation. Data Provider installed on a W7 64bit and the Display Unit on a XP Prof System. The two Computer are connectet via Wireless Router. The only trouble ist the time to initialize the Display Unit. Typicaly time to connect to the Data Provider is around five minutes. Mayby the linkage through a WL-Router is not the best way to do that. In normal operation the EFB runns fast and constant. Are there any things i have to change to solveing. Thanks for suporting and best regards Thomas
aivlasoft
Thomas, Typicaly time to connect to the Data Provider is around five minutes. When the DisplayUnit is starting it reads a lot of data from the shared folder. On wireless networks this may take a lot of time. This is due to the "low" performance of wireless networks. I recommend to go back to "stone age" and connect the two computers by cable. echofisk
For sure, that´s it! With the "stone-age thing" the time to initialize the DU drop down to twenty seconds. Wireless-LAN is realy not my favorite way. First attemps failed by using LAN for data transfer and W-LAN for Internet connection. When LAN still run the Internet allways disconnected. It seems to me Win7 don´t realy like other OS for network installation then Win7. But for now i´ve got it. Thanks and best regards again, Thomas
