Flight Plan for CoolSky MD80

Recommended Posts

Tom,

I assume that you talk about an FSX-flightplan that can be read by the CoolSky MD80?

EFB creates FSX flight plans whenever the butten "Activate" has been pressed. The filename given to such a plan consists of parts of the origin and departure airport information. If this name is not acceptable for the MD80 you have to manually rename the file using the Windows Explorer.

The flight plan is an FSX plan

I assume from what you are saying that once you have prepared a flight plan exactly as you want it and press the SAVE button, you cannot save the flight plans as KDFW-KPHX-1 and make it work with the CoolSky MD80 FMC.

Tom,

pressing the "Save" button saves the current flight plan as a *.efbr file (which is an EFB internal binary format). This flight plan is saved in the "..\routes" directory below your "EFB user data" folder.

Pressing "Activate" will create an FSX flight plan which then is being loaded into FSX and the Garmin GPS system (if the corresponding options are selected). If you want to use this FSX flight plan in your MD80, then open the folder "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files", search for the file with a name according to the currently activated flight plan and copy/rename it to "AAAA-BBBB-1".
