Problems with DisplayUnit window arrangement

Recommended Posts

Hello Urs,

I use the DisplayUnit on a second computer (notebook) running win7 with two displays. After the start I dragged the window of the DU on the second display, but after a restart of the DU it appears on the first one. Normally it should appear again on the second display.

It worked in EFB 1.03 but not in 1.1.

Please give an advice.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

I'm sorry but I can't see anything wrong in what you're doing.

Did you close the DisplayUnit after the moving onto the second monitor or was it closed by the restart (maybe due to some changes in the settings that require a restart)?

Hi Urs,

after moving the DP to the second monitor I used it and closed it afterwards normally by "System | Switch off".

Then I started the DP again and it opens at the first (primary) display.

As I said before, it worked (with the same procedure) in version 1.0.3 (it opens every time on the second display) but not with version 1.1 .

My first question is if the behavior is reproducible by you or other users, or if it is a "special" behavior in my environment.

If it is reproducible, do you have a workaround or better a quick fix for it?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Urs,

I did some investigation and found the following:

If the secondary display is set up to the right side of both displays (in the Display properties settings) it works, so the DU appears on the secondary display.

If the secondary display is set to the left side of both displays (btw. which must be my setting), the DU will appear on the primary display (which is now on the right side of both displays).

It seems that the version 1.1 of the DU is having problems with left window arrangements.

Again version 1.0.3 didn't have this problem!

Regards,

Michael
