    Hi Michael,

    I see that you are using P3DV5, right? Maybe the Add-On used on this simulator has an outdated ILS? I can't say because I'm only using default data for this airport on P3DV5 and there is no such error showing up.

    Ah, OK thanks. I'll check into that and see if I can update it if necessary.

    Can you have a look at the airport information window in EFB and check whether the LOWW airport scenery from FlyTampa is at the highest priority?

    What do I look for to indicate this, and to be sure I am looking at the correct thing is this the panel that displays when I select the button at the top left of the client screen next to "AIRPORT"? I have attached image to be sure.

  3. I have found that the taxiing routes given to aircraft departing or arriving could be a bit better, rather than these zigzag route directions, that a lot of times brings one head-on to opposing traffic. Most times this happens when taxiing out to the runway and generally on the ramp. At most large busy airports with inner and outer parallel taxiways, the controllers will use one or the other depending on whether an aircraft is arriving or departing.

    Is their any way to fix this?

    Hi Michael,

    Just to add in here: Unfortunately there is - at least according to the Japanese AIP - no such thing like a "new" or "old" airport at present. There are just two airports. The naming "New Chitose" is more or less accidentially. At present it even looks like they want to keep both airport Codes: RJCJ as domestic and RJCC as international airport of the Sapporo Area. That's what makes things so difficult for us...

    Oh, OK!

    I'm now trying to solve the problem of these airports with GSX and its gates control. It seems GSX is choosing the old airport RJCJ for its gates over RJCC where as I am on the new airport RJCC. However it is correctable using the GSX ini file. According to their manual and Umberto at FSDT.

    Hi Michael,

    I fear that this cannot be fixed other than switching to manual mode.

    When in automatic mode, EFB determines the active airport by the shortest distance between the aircraft and the ARP (Airport Reference Point) of all airports. The closest airport is taken as the active airport. If two airports are located so close to each other, EFB most probably will switch between these two airports when you taxi around. When starting up at another parking or gate it might be that the other airport is taken as the active airport.

    OK, thanks. Maybe you can consider in a future update allowing the user the chance to elect a preferred airport in such circumstances. Example in my case, where the new airport is in such close proximity to the old one, that I choose the new one over the old (in AUTO).

    Thanks again. Just in case I did not mention it before in a previous post, your EFBv2 is a fantastic addon to my/any Sim (mine is P3Dv4.5) Always looking forward to your updates with new and improved features.

  6. Hi, I installed an airport scenery RJCC (New Chitose Airport, Japan this airport replaces the old airport Chitose RJCJ, Japan. What is happening is when I load the airport RJCC into P3DV45 instead of EFB2 showing me the airport RJCC it shows the airport RJCJ. I have to manually enter the RJCC airport in the EFB2 client to display the correct one, and I don't like having to do that. How can this be rectified?

    I used the "ICAOCodeReplacements.txt" file and entered RJCJ=RJCC, but that did not fix the problem.

    Screen prints attached of the auto display and the manual display on the client - rjcc1 is the auto display, rjcc2 is the manual display; as you can see the new airport changes are omitted in the auto display.

    Thanks,

    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

    Yes, this is nothing mysterious. If an AddOn Designer decides to draw a few more lines on his ground layout, he uses the ADE option "closed TWYs" to avoid AI traffic to use these "taxiways. This will draw a red line. Not a very common way, but alas - we are not here to critizise the Add-On designers ... 🙂 No harm is done to neither ground layout nor the tayway system...

    Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    No need to worry. Have a closer look at the file structure within the documents folders of the client (default path: "C:\Users\User\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Client"). You will notice that there are two new folders \profiles.bak and \Minima.bak. They contain all data from the previous install. So all your customized files  are still available in those folders. Not sure about the checklist folder. This one should remain untouched. So if you restore a profile from the mentioned Profiles.bak folder, the Checklists should still be attached to your customized profile.

    Hey, thanks Oskar.

  9. Hello;

    Is it necessary when upgrading to have the installer delete all files? I recently upgraded, and custom files (aircraft profile and checklist) I had in the Client were erased. Can this be avoided? Fortunately I made backups of them beforehand.

    Thanks,

  10. I don't think this was covered in the version 2 forum, at least I could not find anything in search; but I would like to suggest for an upgrade that a means of manually entering a holding pattern in the flight (plan/routing) be made possible. Sometimes when practising holds this would be a nice feature; to have it displayed on the EFB.

    Thanks,

    Alternatively you can use the following method:

     Goto: "C:\Users\User\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB2\Server\DbBuilder\Base" and open  the file "IcaoCodeReplacements.txt" There should already be an entry reading

    FAJS=FAOR

    right below that write

    SPIM=SPJC

    And save the file. Now you must re-build the database and it should be ok. This is a method we created for such cases, however you need to write the change manually as described.

    Hi Oskar, I was able to change the ICAO code to SPJC using Airport Inspector Editor and all the approaches and runway data is now available in EFB2 and Prosim737.

    Thanks much for the heads-up. I'll keep your other suggestion using the DbBuilder.

    Yes, exactly! SPIM does not exist anymore in the ARINC database, only SPJC. However as long as no AFCAD for SPJC exists, EFB has no information about this airport existing in the Simulator and therefore cannot assign any procedures. So as a consequence LatinVFR should issue a new AFCAD for SPJC or - alternatively you could create one with ADE yourself.

    Oskar, how is this possible using ADE?
